A Multicultural Festival Wedding: S&N’s Glamping Wedding in the Garden of England
posted in Real Ceremonies, Ceremony Inspiration, Weddings

With wellies, wedding vows, and a wealth of culture, Saraana & Nando’s unforgettable celebration was a joyful collision of festival vibes and sacred Hindu traditions. Set against the lush backdrop of Kent — fondly known as the Garden of England — their multicultural glamping wedding was as heart-centred as it was high-energy.
Orchestrated by the talented and multilingual Celebrant Sonal Dave, this was no ordinary ceremony. It was Sonal’s first-ever festival-style glamping wedding — and what a debut it was!
A Jaan Entrance to Remember
The ceremony kicked off with a blast of drums and cheers as the Jaan, or groom’s entrance, stormed into the venue to the infectious rhythm of a dhol player. Surrounded by a lively entourage of groomsmen, this was no quiet procession — it was a jubilant celebration that had everyone on their feet.
The bride’s entrance was equally stunning, bathed in sunset hues. Dressed in a rich orange Indian lehenga, she was accompanied by bridesmaids in matching tones, creating a vivid, harmonious entrance that set the tone for the vibrant celebration to come.
A Sacred Start: Ganesh Puja
In a deeply meaningful moment, both mothers of the couple conducted a Ganesh Puja — a traditional Hindu ritual to invoke Lord Ganesha, remover of obstacles. With offerings, prayers, and heartfelt intention, this act was a beautiful way to include family and begin the ceremony with blessings for unity and success.

Symbolism in Every Detail
The ceremony under the mandap was rich with cultural symbolism. Adorned with a brass statue of Ganesha, a delicate floral arch, and a pair of boho rattan peacock chairs, it was a visual blend of tradition and contemporary style. A beautifully decorated table held the Jai Mala garlands, ready for the couple to exchange during the garlanding ritual, a symbolic moment of mutual respect and acceptance.
One of the ceremony’s most touching moments was the Mangalya Dharanam — the sacred tradition of placing the Mangalsutra around the bride’s neck. A symbol of love, protection, and lifelong commitment, this ritual merged ancient tradition with the couple’s modern love story.
They also exchanged personal vows, affirming their love in their own words before sharing their first kiss as husband and wife.

Rain, Romance and Resilience
Despite a looming downpour, the show went on — with a marquee set up just in time to shelter guests and keep the festival spirit alive. The field may have been muddy, but nothing could dampen the joy of this love-filled day.
True to form, Sonal Dave refused to let wellies cramp her style, navigating the squelchy grounds with her signature grace. “I had to wash my shoes and clothes afterwards,” she laughed, “but it was absolutely worth it.”

Meet Sonal Dave: The Voice of Ceremony
A true trailblazer in the world of multicultural ceremonies, Sonal Dave is not only a skilled celebrant but also a classically trained singer who performs in English, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Swahili, and more. Her ceremonies are heartfelt, inclusive, and filled with personality — whether she’s delivering powerful rituals or serenading the couple in their native tongue.
Reflecting on the day, Sonal shared:
“Thank you S&N for having faith in me to create your multicultural wedding ceremony — one that you and I will remember for many years. And thank you for giving me the opportunity to lead my first ever glamping site celebration.”
Where the Magic Happened
Although Wildmeadow Glamping Site has now closed its doors, couples dreaming of a similar festival-themed wedding can find that same soul-stirring atmosphere at Elmley Nature Reserve, where luxurious yurts and expansive wildflower meadows await.
A Celebration Rooted in Love and Culture
This was more than a wedding — it was a living, breathing expression of heritage, faith, and fun. S&N’s ceremony honoured their past, embraced the present, and looked joyfully towards the future, all while dancing to the beat of the dhol and laughing through the rain.
With every ritual, every vow, and every muddy footprint, they showed the world that a wedding can be whatever you dream it to be — bold, beautiful, and totally you.
