Finding Your Worth: Overcoming Imposter Syndrome as a Celebrant

Miranda is a mindset and leadership coach, empowering people to embrace their worth and live fearlessly.

Do you ever find yourself questioning if you’re good enough as a celebrant? Maybe you compare yourself to others and feel like you’re falling short, or worry that everyone else is more experienced, more creative, or just… better? You’re not alone. Imposter syndrome has a sneaky way of making us doubt ourselves, even when we’re doing amazing things.

This workshop is here to help you break free from that cycle. Miranda will dive into why comparing yourself to others isn’t helpful (even though it’s something we all do!) and what’s really behind those feelings of not being “enough.” Through simple, practical exercises, you’ll learn how to challenge self-doubt and start appreciating what makes you, you.

You’ll walk away with tools to quiet that inner critic, feel more confident in your unique skills, and stop letting comparison hold you back. This isn’t about being perfect—it’s about recognising your worth and celebrating the fact that your voice, your style, and your story are what make you an incredible celebrant.

Heather StanfordYour Legal Fairy Godmother

The Contractual Biggies

Heather has worked as a solicitor for 20 years, was managing partner of a law firm, and an operations and business manager so she knows the reality of running your own small business. She has created bespoke and template legal and contract resources to help out sole traders with the practicalities of business, and those bits that sometimes feel a bit boring but are absolutely necessary.

It’s not cool. It’s not sexy. But LEGAL is important. CONTRACTS are essential. COMPLIANCE is a requirement not an option.

Heather will talk through the essential terms of your contracts:

  • Is your contract up to scratch?
  • How do you as a solo entrepreneur tread the fine line between a robust and fair agreement, without it being War and Peace?
  • Do you understand your Ts and Cs?
  • Will your customer?
  • Is GDPR something you need to worry about?

Delivering some plain English, non-legal speak advice, and your questions answered, your Legal Fairy Godmother will guide you through some tips and leads to solve this business headache, with paid and free resources you can use as a celebrant.

Russell SandbergProfessor of Law

In the Know: What is marriage reform and what does that mean for the celebrant industry

Russell Sandberg is Professor of Law at Cardiff University where he specialises in how law interacts with both religion and history. He is author of seven books including Religion and Marriage Law: The Need for Reform (Bristol University Press, 2021) which argued for comprehensive reform of English marriage law to recognise ceremonies conducted by religion and belief communities as well as by independent celebrants. His work fed into the recent Law Commission report on the topic.

Russell's session is an accessible guide to what has happened to date in relation to reforming marriage laws in England and Wales, as well as exploring what the future may hold and how this would affect everyone engaged in the weddings industry. Covering the reasons and benefits of reform, the talk explores the likelihood and implications of a move from recognising buildings to recognising celebrants. The session will provide practical advice on how to support and lobby for reform as well as how to prepare for any changes.
