Hi, I'm Gill
I’m Gill and am a professionally qualified funeral celebrant trained by the Academy of Modern Celebrancy.
I realise what a difficult time this is for many people and I just want you to know that I understand. I am here to help and would be humbled and honoured to work alongside you to craft your perfect ceremony.
While funeral services might traditionally have been conducted by a member of the clergy, attitudes and beliefs have changed and now a funeral celebrant will deliver a service that encompasses all that you would want in your ceremony. This might include a religious element but equally might not.
I am passionate about crafting a ceremony – with you – whether that be a traditional funeral, a fantastic celebration of life or a fitting memorial – particularly in these recent times where many people did not get the opportunity to properly say goodbye.
What's my ceremony style?
I know that you want a ceremony that reflects your loved one’s life and while it is a time to mourn, it is also often a time to celebrate that life- so let us create an event that allows all to remember your loved one as you, and maybe they, would wish.
The ceremonies I conduct will have respect, have gravitas, have dignity, tears and joy – let me help you and give you the time and space to create that with me?

Funerals
With a background in nursing and in palliative care I understand how it feels at this time and will work alongside you to support, help and ultimately enable you to remember your loved one exactly as you would wish.
I am happy to work alongside any family, friends, children who would like to be involved creating ways for each to be able to contribute as is fitting.
Sometimes there are important places that may be suitable for a venue for your ceremony – I will work alongside your funeral directors to arrange that.
It may be that you wish a theme or candles, balloons, butterflies or maybe a certain genre of music.
All can be explored so please don’t hesitate to say what you would love to see on the day.
There are many ways to remember your loved ones and I offer a range of ceremonies to accommodate whatever you feel is fitting – from a traditional funeral service to a joyous celebration of life.
It maybe that you are passionate about the earth and nature and would love a natural or woodland burial in an eco-friendly way.
It may be that sadly over the pandemic that you have been unable to say goodbye as you would have wished so maybe the time is right for a memorial service – or to create a living memorial.

As your celebrant you can be assured that your ceremony will be personalised and may include spiritual or religious elements, or be purely secular.
It may include photos, videos, music – but above all it will certainly reflect your culture, your beliefs and your personality.
We will meet, as often as needed -whether that be in person or on Zoom and together we will spend time finding the stories you would love to share.
I care, I really do care that your ceremony is all you would wish it be and that memories are made and shared.

My family lost my dad to blood cancer on 7th September 2022 thankfully peacefully at home with his family.
Caladh Funeral Services recommended the lovely Gill Robertson to us to perform his service.
From the moment we met Gill we knew we had picked the right person. Gill has a lovely smile, a fantastic sense of humour which showed throughout our time with her. From start to finish her sensitively, professionalisms and personal support and care made a very difficult time easier to cope with. We laughed, we cried with Gill and in the end Gill felt she knew my dad personally as this came out at his service.
We would highly recommend this sincerely caring lovely lady to help you say goodbye to your loved one.
