Hi, I'm Mary-Jo (MJ)
No two couples are the same – so why settle for a ceremony that is the same as everybody else’s?
Hello, my name is Mary-Jo or MJ if you prefer, and I am a UK trained independent celebrant.
My aim is to give YOU the service that you deserve – one that is specifically created for YOU.
Whether you want to have a spiritual based or humanist based service, or a mix between the two, your service will be created uniquely for you.
If you know exactly what you want, I am happy to work with that, or if you are not sure and want some advice, I am here to give you lots of help.
What's my ceremony style?
My style is friendly, relaxed, professional.
To enjoy the special moment to the fullest, it’s important that everyone is relaxed. Knowing that that the ceremony is in professional , safe-hands enables a sense of peace and a lack of worry.
Prior to becoming a professional celebrant I worked in many countries as a project manager giving me organisational and public speaking skills and the understanding of varying cultures. Being a Destiny Coach who helps others gain confidence and reduce fear, makes me approachable, with the ability to relate to people on an individual basis.
I am able to do various rituals such as ring warming, hand-fasting, sand-blending, candle lighting and can even create one especially for you!
I am flexible on the type of location you choose, woodland, beach, chateau, moun

Why choose Mary-Jo (MJ)?
My aim as a Wedding Celebrant is to create a unique ceremony for you so special that it will not be forgotten. One that is all about you and your love story and France is the romantic country in which to do it! It can be traditional or not, and we can include rituals that mean something to you. We can even create one especially for you. If you want special people in your life to play a certain role that can also be incorporated.
My motto is ‘Your Day, Your Way!’
What do I offer?
Weddings
My ideal couple are those who are totally in-love with each other and see the ceremony as the pinnacle of their wedding day!
Each couple is unique and as each service is written especially for them, then no two ceremonies are the same.
There are many rituals that can be incorporated, such as ring warming, handfasting, candle lighting, sand-blending, drinking from a love cup or even create a ritual especially for you. If you have a different cultural heritage I can include a ritual to honour that.
I offer my couples the chance to have a totally unique wedding ceremony tailored to their wants and wishes, which they will remember with joy for many years to come!
Prior to any contract, we hold a free, no-obligation meeting/zoom call to discuss your desires and ensure that we are a good fit for one another.
I will then send you a questionnaire to complete and once done, have several meetings with you to get to know you better and discuss your wishes. Taking that on board I will then create a bespoke ceremony for you to review until you are happy with the service (unlimited updates!).
I will visit the venue prior to the wedding to meet them and will also liaise with your wedding planner and musicians as necessary.
On the day I will arrive early to ensure that all is well, and help out with any last minute panics, before conducting the ceremony of your dreams.

Naming Ceremonies
You have just brought a new life into this world – what can be more natural than wanting to celebrate that life and their connection to you and your family by having a naming ceremony. Baby naming ceremonies are a great way to acknowledge them and introduce your baby into the world if you don’t want a traditional church christening. You will have no doubt thought long and hard over their name, maybe even had some arguments over it – someone’s name is important. It’s a primary portion of how they identify themselves and how others will refer to them.
You may have chosen their name in honour of a previous family member or friend, or may love the meaning of the name, or just liked the way it sounds as it rolls off your tongue. A naming ceremony gives you the chance to explain why you chose that name and what the baby means to you.
The format of a baby naming can be as unique as the baby themselves.
There are many rituals you can use for a baby naming ceremony, such as planting a tree, hand or feet casting, doing a time capsule for them to open on their coming of age, laying down a bottle of whisky or good wine for them for their 18th birthday. Maybe ask each attendee to write a few lines of what they wish for your child’s future or words of sage advice, and put them in a promise box for them or create a ritual special to your family. The possibilities are endless.
It is a time where you can acknowledge friends and family who you want to have a special relationship with your child as God/Guide Parents, as they grow up.

Let your child know that they are special to you and wanted by letting me create a unique ceremony to mark their entry into your life.
Renewal of Vows
Renewing wedding vows is a special way for you as a couple to celebrate your love and commitment to each other.
There are many reasons to renew your wedding vows. For some, it may be to celebrate a special milestone anniversary. For others, it may be a way to reaffirm your love and commitment to one another after facing challenges in your marriage. Some couples may also choose to renew their vows as a way to include family and friends who were unable to attend their original wedding ceremony. Or to have the wedding of your dreams, which you couldn’t afford originally
Whatever the reason may be, renewing wedding vows is a beautiful way for you to celebrate your love and dedication to one another.
The ceremony can be as simple or elaborate as you desire, with some choosing to have a small, intimate gathering while others opt for a larger celebration.
You can incorporate words or sections from your original marriage or make it completely different. Why not include a ritual such as handfasting, sand blending, candle lighting , drink from a love cup or create your own special ritual.
Renewing your wedding vows can also be a way to create new memories and strengthen the bond between you. It can serve as a reminder of the feelings that brought you together in the first place, with a look to the future of hopes and dreams still to be fulfilled.

Funerals
The death of a close relation or friend can be very upsetting – you love them and miss them now that they are gone.
Whilst we may no longer have them with us physically, they can still live in our thoughts and memories. A celebrant led funeral can be a great way to say that physical good-bye
As a Funeral Celebrant it is important to capture the essence of the deceased guest of honour in the service. The eulogy can be written and/or delivered by a loved one or by myself based on talking to the family. It is a time of honouring their life and how their love impacted others.
A celebrant led service can be undertaken in a crematorium or at the graveside. Or you can have an interment ceremony with the ashes, or a memorial service. Why not give the one you love a proper send off?
Readings can be done (scripture/poems/ letters), I conducted one funeral where the grandchildren stood up and read a letter to their granny concerning the happy memories they had of her as they grew up.
The time of reflection can be used for people to write down their memories of the deceased, which can be collected and read by the family afterwards giving them solace.

€350, Living Legacy (Eulogy only) from €100
Why choose Mary-Jo (MJ) for your funeral?
Whether you prefer a traditional service with hymns and prayers or a flash-mob dance to ‘Another one bites the dust’., then it can be incorporated.
As a new service, I am also offering ‘Living Legacy’ – a chance for you to be involved in what is said about you at your funeral. Family and friends don’t know everything there is to know about you – what memories you treasured as you grew up. So why not sit down and discuss your life and memories with me so I can create a eulogy for you, saving your family the heartache and worry about this when the time comes.

Beautiful service for wedding
We can100% recommended Mary-Jo to make your service bespoke and special. Mary-Jo was amazing from start to finish. We had a lot of support, suitable readings, poems, vows etc from her. She took the time to listen, ask and engage and this meant that when the first ceremony draft came through, we loved it and needed very little edits. It was beautiful., she made sure the stories were personal and meaningful to us. Mary-Jo also penned some French dialogue so our French guests felt included. It was a great day, and the ceremony was central to that.
Kelly & Mike
From the first no-obligation meeting with Mary-Jo, myself and my partner Kelly knew she would be perfect for our special day and we were right. MJ gave us some brilliant ideas for our ceremony that we would never have thought about ourselves. We decided to do sand blending as part of our ceremony so that our 5 year old daughter could also be a part of it, MJ also incorporated a couple of “I do” questions for our daughter which was a lovely touch. My wife was very apprehensive about our ceremony but MJ made her feel very at ease and was brilliant throughout. I cannot recommend her enough. Our ceremony was very small and intimate but by the end of our meetings beforehand we felt like we knew MJ really well and she knew us too so we felt really comfortable throughout. She was amazing and made our ceremony exactly what we had imagined. Thank you MJ it was a pleasure to have you as part of our day.
Martina & Olli – Steam Punk,
Mary-Jo was wonderful in helping us organise our ceremony from when she came to visit us. Together we created personal and meaningful wedding vows and we had a love binding ceremony in which some of our guests could take part. That all made our ceremony so special and even three years later our guests talk about the ceremony.
Mary-Jo ensured that this part of the day was relaxed, fun and reflected us as a couple, having taken the time to get to know us in the run up to the wedding. We loved working with you and wish we could do it all over again!.
