Hi, I'm Sarah
I am very privileged to have a job that is all about love! There is nothing more rewarding than helping people demonstrate and celebrate that emotion in the most personal way, as they reach all the important milestones in life.
Whether you are planning a wedding; welcoming a child into your family; want to renew your marriage vows or have a truly meaningful celebration of a loved one’s life at a funeral or memorial, I will create a unique and personal ceremony, representing all the love, hopes, wishes and thanks you want to convey.
No two people are the same and no two ceremonies should be the same either!
What's my ceremony style?
I don’t have a fixed style – my job is to be led by your wishes and preferences, in order to create something that’s perfect for you. I like to make a genuine connection with everyone I work with and if I don’t think I’m the right person to provide what you need, I’ll be honest about that.

I will make no prior assumptions about you, or about what you might want from your ceremony; everyone has their own ideas, likes and dislikes. I hope you’ll find me open, honest, empathetic and sensitive, with a genuine desire to do my best for everyone I work with.
What do I offer?
Weddings
I don’t have a mental picture of my ideal couple or favourite ways of doing things. If we hit it off and you think I’m the right celebrant for you, then whoever you are; however you identify; whatever your background, race, culture, orientation, faith (or lack of it), I will create a ceremony to celebrate your love in a way that is truly unique and meaningful for you.
Your special day should be all about you, both as individuals and as a couple; how you found each other and all the things you share and are going to experience together! We can make that happen any time, anywhere and anyhow!
My fee includes:
An initial planning meeting at your home or a mutually convenient location (4-5 months before the big day).
Help with choosing music, readings and any special ceremonial elements.
An initial outline, followed by (almost!) unlimited re-drafts of your ceremony script.
Help with writing your vows/promises, if required.
Liaising with your venue/wedding planner/other key people, as needed, to ensure everything is closely coordinated.
Further e-mail/telephone/Zoom consultations, as needed.
A final meeting or – preferably – a rehearsal at your venue a few days before the event, to ensure everyone knows what to do and where to stand!
A printed and/or electronic copy of your ceremony script.
My travel within a 30-mile radius of Haywards Heath.

I’m open, honest and easy-going and what you see is what you get! I don’t have a fixed style – my job is to be led by your uniqueness, in order to create something that’s perfect for you. If I don’t think I can deliver what you want, I’ll say so (and help you find someone who can), but I’m happy to say that hasn’t happened yet!

Funerals
Celebrating the life of someone we have lost is the last thing we can do for them and we all want to get it just right. Having lost many loved ones myself, I understand how hard it is to think clearly about the detail of a funeral at the same time as dealing with your own feelings and all the practical things that have to be done at such a difficult time. I regard it as a real privilege to be able to alleviate some of that pressure, by gently encouraging families to tell me about their loved one and helping them to think through how they want to say goodbye. I then do my best to turn their thoughts and stories into a ceremony that will be as special and unique as the person they have lost.
If you are using a funeral director, my fee will form part of their final bill.
This covers:
– A meeting at your home or other mutually convenient location, to talk about the person you have lost and to discuss your thoughts and ideas about the ceremony.
– Help with choosing music, readings and any other elements, if needed.
– An initial draft of the eulogy (if required), followed by revisions, as necessary. I am also happy to proof-read and/or give advice on eulogies or other pieces written by friends or family members, if this is helpful.
– Liaising with the funeral director/crematorium/burial site, to ensure everything is closely coordinated and exactly as you want it.
– My travel costs (within 30 miles of Haywards Heath).

The final ‘goodbye’ we say to our loved ones is a vital part of the grieving and healing process and I believe that the memory of that final event in someone’s story should be just as precious as memories of their life. This is why I am absolutely committed to helping you to create the best possible ceremony for your loved one, which should be as individual as they were. Almost anything is possible – please do not be afraid to ask.

Special Celebrant
Myself and Rob could not have chosen a more lovely thoughtful special celebrant. Sarah Hall made our special day so more memorable. We really had no idea where to start. Sarah helped us through with our words and ideas. Our family and guests and where we held our ceremony all said how beautiful it all was. On the day Sarah made us feel so relaxed and special. We really can’t thank Sarah enough for everything. And we are so pleased we found Sarah to help us with our special day.
Celebrant for Dad
Sarah Hall was the perfect Celebrant for my father’s funeral. We’ve had so many comments about how she captured Dad’s essence completely. We cannot thank her enough for all her diligent preparation and sensitive guidance throughout, culminating in what was a fabulous celebration of his life.
A true celebration of our father
We chose Sarah as our Celebrant because we had known her since childhood, and she had also known our dad. This was very important to us because we also wanted someone that we could trust with our fondest memories.
Sarah gave us the time and space to collect our greatest memories and she was able to convey the true person we were celebrating. People have told us that felt it was a genuine representation of the man our dad was, genuine and lovely.
She supported us with ordering our celebration and worked with our funeral director. Although we will miss dad and losing him leaves a great hole in our lives, thanks to Sarah’s style and warmth we can truly say, his service was a celebration of his life and provided comfort rather than sadness
