Hi, I'm Simone
I was born in the Netherlands and moved to the UK at the age of 19. My family is still there, and I feel fortunate to call both countries my home.
I became a Funeral Celebrant late in life, which means that I have the life experience to deal with death and grief confidently and with compassion.
I have chosen to devote myself whole-heartedly to creating ceremonies only for funerals. I think it suits my personality very well. My friends describe me as calm, dedicated and patient.
Although I tend to take life a bit seriously, I always look for the joy in whatever life throws at me.
What's my ceremony style?
The death of people we care for, and love, is one of the most impactful things of our lives. The pain and feeling of loss can stay with us for a very long time. That is why, to me, it is so important that the last thing we can do for them whilst they are still with us, even in death, should be done with care and grace and dignity.
I can help create a beautiful celebration of life for your loved one, and although there may be a feeling of sadness, there will also be great memories of the times you shared and a sense of joy for the life they have lived.
I want to give you the space, freedom and creativity to share the memories you have on this final farewell. I will weave together the story you would like me to tell your friends and family, so they will not forget.

Arranging a funeral will be one of the most difficult things you may have to do. In those first few difficult days, I will be there to help you create the farewell your loved one deserves. You are not alone.
I believe that a funeral deserves a ceremony like no other, tailored to your wants and wishes and those of your loved one. Although there may be little time to plan, and no rehearsals or do-overs, I can create a ceremony you will feel proud of, and which will create lasting memories for each and every one of you.

Funerals
Whichever type of funeral you choose I can create a ceremony for you, filled with personal touches that will honour the person that has passed away in a way that is unique to them. No two people are the same so neither should two funerals need to be the same.
Whether your choice for a funeral follows tradition, or you want to celebrate a life in your own personal style, I will listen to your ideas and create a ceremony you can feel proud of.
Funeral Ceremony This is most likely to be a service at a crematorium or at a chosen venue or outdoor location, followed by the burial. Generally, these have a limited timeframe. A crematorium service for example takes approximately 20 minutes. From £200
Celebration of Life Ceremony If you are choosing this option, you will have a lot more freedom to decide on what it will look like, where it will take place and how long it will last. Usually, a Celebration of Life will take place after the body has been cremated or buried (but it doesn’t have to be). From £225

Why choose Simone for your funeral?
There are many different ways to hold a funeral, say goodbye to a loved one, or celebrate a life. These days, we are often no longer satisfied with blindly following tradition because ‘it is the done thing’. In today’s world we want to have choices, we want to be in charge of our own destiny and sometimes even break the rule book.
Death no longer has to be the taboo subject it once was and although it may still feel uncomfortable, we accept that it is ok to talk about death, make plans for it, and that includes what the final farewell should look like. There are several options on what you can do. How to do it? Well, the world is your oyster – there are as many ways as there are ideas.
