Affiliations
I am a Fellow of The Faculty of Funeral Celebrants. This was issued under the Seal of the Society of Bereavement Practitioners by Professor Jason Powell PhD FRSA. My professional qualifications and title are David Grove MBA FFC.
Hi, I'm David
I will be the right choice as a celebrant for you if you are looking for a simple, meaningful and respectful service that observes the reverence of the occasion. A ceremony that paints a picture of your loved-one, gives space to mourn your loss as well as space to celebrate their life. A ceremony can be held at a time and place of your choosing even after a Direct Cremation.
What's my ceremony style?
I am a Funeral Celebrant and a Quaker. In a ceremony I could introduce moments for silent reflection. Participants could minister during the silence if they wish to do so. The ceremony could be a mix of structure, with a eulogy and tributes or poems read, and more un-structured moments as described above. The ceremony will be what you want it to be and can be adapted to meet your requirements.

Highlight
Meeting you while you were living.
My favourite moment was meeting a woman with a terminal illness, who wanted some input into the ceremony before she died. As a child she had attended a Quaker school. We talked and I created a ceremony with elements of silence and personal ministry. It became one of my favourite ceremonies and I had the privilege of meeting her.
Why choose David?
I specialise in funeral ceremonies as I feel I have something to offer in this space. When people gather together to remember, mourn and celebrate the life of a loved-one, being able to have moments for personal reflection, to gather your thoughts, to be calm and still in certain moments, will enhance the meaning and value of the service to you and to those gathered around you at this time. A ceremony can also be held after a Direct Cremation at a time and place of your choosing.

Funerals
I believe a simple ceremony, with the room for silent reflection as part of the mix, is something I can offer as needed. As a Quaker I do believe there are elements of this way of life that can be of benefit in a funeral service, however, it is your ceremony and this is my focus.
I do not conduct weddings or other ceremonies. I do this as I want to focus on this rather than split my time with other celebrancy services. This is such an important occasion for everyone involved and I want to make sure that each family is listened to and gets the ceremony that they require and deserve.
I am a father and grand-father and have my own share of life experience.

If you are looking for a ceremony that you will feel comfortable with, that suits your needs at this difficult time, that introduces calm and stillness when it is most needed, I would respectfully put myself forward.

She managed to retain her sense of fun, despite suffering both emotional and physical strain. A much-loved woman who has gone too soon. The ceremony included music for reflection from Norah Jones, a Mosiah Hancock poem and some uplifting memories to cherish.

A Tribute from his granddaughter and from his skittles team. A visual tribute accompanied by a live recording of his favourite, Frank Sinatra. An interesting and long life, including as a goalkeeper for QPR, and a posting on National Service to Treetops, Kenya, at the moment of Queen Elizabeth’s ascension. Much loved by his children and grandchildren.

A family man who retained his sunny disposition despite his health problems. Beloved by his family. The ceremony included poetry readings by three of his grandchildren, which they did perfectly. A man who saw the good in everyone, who is greatly missed.
