Hi, I'm Sam

I am ‘The Sunshine Celebrant’ and my intention is to inject a little sunshine, a little Joie de vivre, into your ceremony. So, whether you are looking for a Celebrant for your wedding, vow renewal, naming ceremony or a funeral service, I could be the perfect person for you.
I create individual bespoke ceremonies based on your wishes, dreams, and thoughts, and include as much of your personalities and interests as possible to make the ceremony perfectly yours. I am a lover of words and hope to use my passion along with inspiration from you, to write a ceremony to make you proud.
Do you want to include your family and friends in the ceremony? Well, we can arrange that, whether that’s including them in the vows and promises, adding mini ceremonies or including them in readings or performances, the choice is entirely yours.

What's my ceremony style?

I am all about the ‘sunshine’ moments, a little something to make your ceremony extra special. I like quirky, geeky, literary, romantic, natural, well just about any type of ceremony, if it reflects the people involved.
Do you want to dress up as Elven warriors, galactic pilots, or historical heroes? No problem. Or would you like a reading from an epic poem or a scene from your favourite movie? This too can be arranged. As long as we put a bit of you into it, that’s great and the more fun the better as far as I am concerned.

I love people, listening to the stories that make you special, and finding a way to turn that into a ceremony that you’ll love. My background is in the theatre and creative arts, with a dash of hospitality and retail and a large dose of customer service, so I am very used to interaction with people from all walks of life. I love LOVE! Any couple with a special story to tell and a unique outlook on their relationship, that wants to share their special day with the most important people in the world to them, are fine by me! I want to help you put your vision of a perfect wedding in to practice. I am a fan of the magic of word’s and whether the inspiration for your ceremony comes from your favourite love song, a book, or a movie let us make it a part of your special day.

I offer a no obligation initial meeting to see if we are a fit for each other. If you are happy, we can then go about creating your perfect ceremony. You will have the opportunity to adjust and make changes to your ceremony script and I even offer a rehearsal if you feel the need.
You will also receive a certificate that can be signed by the couple and up to four witnesses with a decorative certificate frame. You will receive a copy of your script and your vows as a keepsake
I also offer additional creative touches to make your day truly unique, from mini ceremonies including hand crafted props, to paper corsages and bouquets. Do you want to include something from an absent loved one? I can make a personal keepsake that you can utilise during your ceremony, so they are still a part of your big day.

‘I believe in a thing called love’ and ‘When you love someone’ ‘The power of love can be a curious thing’. I know I am getting a little ahead of myself. Music can be very evocative and is known to create an emotional response, so, let’s tug at the heart strings of your loved ones with some special tunes. So, if you are ‘Addicted to love’ and if you believe like the (fictional) Prime Minister in Love Actually that ‘love actually is all around’ then let me help you demonstrate this to the world, considering ‘All you need is love’.

They say it takes a village to raise a child well maybe you would like to appoint Guide Parents, Guardians, Odd Parents, Fairy Odd Parents (or Fairly Odd Parents). There are no restrictions or obstacles on who you can choose or how many you choose. You will be providing your child with the best role models to have a positive impact on their life and plenty of fun stories to be relayed back to them when they are older (and can be easily embarrassed!)
With the chance to include music, poetry readings, candle or sand ceremonies and for as much or a little participation of your guests as you wish. Together, we can create an occasion to be proud of.

I began my Celebrant journey after losing someone very important to me and having to arrange a funeral myself. So, although I cannot know how you are feeling, I do understand a lot of what you are going through. I still want to bring a little ‘Sunshine’ to your day (although I can’t guarantee the actual weather!)So let me help you ‘Celebrate’ your loved ones life and everything that made them special to you.

I will arrange a meeting with you either face to face or via a video call to discuss your requirements. We can work together to create an order of service plan and to write a unique tribute or eulogy for your loved one. I will then send you a copy to allow you to make any adjustments before agreeing the final finished piece.
If you are working with a funeral director I can liaise with them about any aspects of the service you need and can assist with any special requests from candle or flower ceremonies to live music.
