I am a proud member of Entheos Ireland. Entheos Ireland was founded to serve people who have been ostracised, marginalised or otherwise left behind by traditional faith paths on the basis of gender, race, sexual orientation, ability, nationality, parental/family status or any other reason. I am on the Register of Solemnisers with this joyful and inclusive group.

What's my ceremony style?
Being present! With modern life flying by us so fast we rarely allow ourselves to stop, breathe, and take note of the important occasions in our life. As a marriage celebrant I make it my mission to deliver a ceremony that family and friends will always remember with a genuine focus on the couple, their story and most importantly the love that they are sharing. That’s why I always get to know you before the big day, meeting up to discuss everything over a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine!). If that’s not possible, lets have a Zoom date instead!

Why choose Barbara for your wedding?
The couple are at the absolute centre of the day. I love getting to know you personally, understanding what you want and channeling that all into the ceremony. I want your day to look like you personally created it. If you are not a fan of the mushy stuff your ceremony can be the most relaxed and chilled out day – if you love the grand gestures I can create that too. The idea is that I am here to listen to what you want and to tune the wedding towards that. You will know exactly what you are getting on the day as you will have signed off on everything. It is your day, your way!

Baby naming ceremonies are unique, personalised and will leave cherished memories with you and all your guests. The focus is on the child with blessings and good wishes that family and friends bestow onto the baby. You can incorporate music, readings, grandparents and big brothers and sisters into the ceremony making it a truly family celebration. You can introduce your new family member to the world with happiness, joy (a few tears!) and love.
I will get to know you before the joyful occasion and we will create a ceremony which is unique to you and your child – at a time that suits them! The great things about a naming ceremony is that it can be held anywhere – pull up a few stools (or sit on the floor!) and we can have it in your living room! The child will be surrounded by those they love in a place they know.

Why choose Barbara for your renewal of vows?
A vow renewal ceremony is a beautiful way to mark an anniversary and allows you to create a ceremony in any location you wish – from your back garden to the Cliffs of Moher! It can be a small intimate gathering with readings and music – or it could be a full blown wedding ceremony as you reaffirm your vows to each other in a loving and joyful space.
Do you wish you had done something different for your original wedding ceremony? A vow renewal is the perfect way to gather friends and family (or create a ceremony more intimate – with no guests!) and create that day you always wanted. Perhaps it was just the location you wish you had done differently – a vow renewal can take place anywhere, from your local park to your favourite restaurant, museum, beach – together we can create the perfect ceremony that reflects you and your partner.

Don’t hesitate to book Barbara for your wedding!
Barbara was absolutely amazing to work with for our small wedding. She personalized our ceremony in a way that suited us so well and gave wonderful suggestions and direction. She was also very flexible during the planning process as we are located in the US. We met on Zoom several times before the wedding and she answered all of our questions and asked us questions about ourselves to make the ceremony just right. Many of our guests complimented her on such a beautiful ceremony. Thank you Barbara for helping make our day amazing!
Barbara is simply the best!!
We’re sorry it took this long to write this review. Barbara married both of us on the 15th September 2022, in the Step House Hotel, Borris, Co. Carlow. We did a number of zoom meetings with potential solemnisers prior to our big day, but there was no competition.
Barbara’s manner, her simplicity and her ability to listen lay the foundations for a very simple and meaningful ceremony on the day. Barbara went on to work closely with our singer, Tina. Tina went on to remark to us, that Barbara was so lovely to work with.
On the day itself, Barbara was very calm, friendly and professional. The ceremony was just amazing and yet so simple and meaningful, so much so, lots of the guests remarked on how beautiful the ceremony was and how professional Barbara was. We don’t know what else to say, except she was perfect!!
A Perfect Celebration of Us
We both couldn’t have been happier with our choice of Barbara as our celebrant.
Living in the UK, we were apprehensive of picking someone to perform the most important job on our wedding day over Zoom. All these apprehensions went out the window during our first virtual meeting with Barbara. She was kind, personable and perfectly encapsulated everything we wanted from our celebrant. It was apparent very quickly that she was the one for us.
During our final Zoom meeting, Barbara formulated ‘our story’ and went through all the finer details of our ceremony. We couldn’t have been happier when she sent on her ‘script’ for the day. She had captured the essence of our relationship so well.
The day of our ceremony was the first time we met Barbara. Everything went wonderfully, and if anything, we wish we could have hung out with her more! Everyone commented on how personable the ceremony was (there were definitely a few tears!). Barbara’s story of our relationship was a wonderful touch. We had read what she would say in advance, but her delivery of it really made it shine.
Don’t hesitate to talk to Barbara, she’s wonderful and we couldn’t have been any happier with our ceremony! She’s a total dream to work with!
