I’m Marcus Armstrong, and I am a The Storyteller Celebrant.
Basically, my whole thing is story, which is why I chose my name. I am a professional screenwriter in another life, meaning that I have years of experience to craft your ceremony in a way that is totally unique to you.
There is no such thing as a “normal” ceremony with me. Working with you, I will create something completely original based on your story.
Whether you are getting married, welcoming a new child, renewing your vows or becoming the person you were always supposed to be, I’m your guy.

What's my ceremony style?
My experience as a writer and performer gives me a depth of experience that is hard to match. I hold a Masters in Screenwriting, a Bachelors in Performance and a Level 3 Diploma in Couples and Naming Ceremonies, which is the highest qualification you can hold.
So I am a professional in every sense of the word!
I craft ceremonies based on you that have subtle, nuanced moments of love, punctuated by humour that elevates your ceremony above the traditional; all with your help!
I also offer a service called Ceremonies for Nerds. This service is a way of having your celebration whilst being fully immersed in the world of that thing that makes you tick.
Forget everything you think you know about a themed wedding. This is a bespoke, intensely researched ceremony that puts you in the world of your choosing in a way that no one else can!

I am a professional and I can bring many years of experience as a Screenwriter and Performer to your ceremony. Simply put, I will make it something original that celebrates all that you are.
I’m available for all times and all places, and will do whatever I can to make sure this transformative moment lives up your wildest dreams.
But mainly, I’m really nice! This can be an overwhelming time, and I am here to help guide you through it. I even offer extra services including multiple rehearsals, extra meetings, speech writing and even being your master of ceremonies!
What do I offer?
Weddings
I love a challenge, and I love couples who are unashamed in challenging me.
I also love detail. I love to find those details in a couple’s story and reference them in the ceremony in a subtle but noticeable way. This is how you make a ceremony yours, by giving me those brilliant, funny, sometimes embarrassing little details.
Sometimes less is more, and sometimes more is more. Whether you are the extroverted or introverted kind, come and challenge me to make your day unique and beautiful in a way that is entirely about you.
I don’t do packages really, because having a package puts you in a box, and I’m not about that.
I have a starting rate and a few extras, and everything else we figure out together. After all, there is no point calling something unique if it fits into a box with other “unique” stuff!
The only exception to that rule is my themed wedding arm – Ceremonies for Nerds.
Like I said above, forget what you think you know about themed weddings!
You bring me that thing that makes you tick: History, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Specific Eras, or maybe a cool location! I will bury myself in research and create something authentic that fully immerses you in the world. So forget Stormtrooper balloons and Henry VIII cakes (yes I have seen them), if you want to get married with a theme, come talk to me and we’ll make something amazing together!

You might be a young family with their first child, you might be welcoming an adopted child into your home, maybe you have transitioned from the person you used to be into the person you were always supposed to be, or maybe you are blending two families together.

Naming ceremonies are beautiful and they allow us to come together and celebrate who we are, and make promises of love and kinship that run so deep.
I love a challenge, so bring me your weird and wonderful ideas on how you want to do this day, and I will make it happen!
I offer support and gentle guidance combined with my extensive storytelling experience to create the most personal of ceremonies.

Fantastic Celebrant!!!!!!!

We wanted a ceremony which had no alignment to religion, but simply told a story of our relationship and adventures over the last 12 years. Marcus immediately understood what we wanted and was so easy to work with.
After a couple of video calls and some content from each of us, he brought our story to life highlighting the most important ingredients of our friendship and partnership and ultimately why we decided to get married.
Marcus absolutely excelled on the big day with a commanding performance that captivated our 80 strong guests. Even our photographer paused to listen for a while during the ceremony such due to the story telling.
We would highly recommend Marcus for any type of wedding or ceremony due to his welcoming and flexible approach and when pulling together the cornerstones of content and his ability to bring tell our story to those closest to us with a perfect balance of wit, laughter and lovely sentiment.
We had so many complimentary comments at our reception, many asking how long we’d known Marcus due to the way he was able to effortlessly articulate our story, even though we’d only met twice over video call and for an hour in person.
We can’t recommend Marcus highly enough as he absolutely delivered everything we were looking for in a celebrant and so much more.

Incredible Ceremony
Having come across Marcus on a website, and having reviewed his introductory videos, we knew straight away that we wanted him as our celebrant. From our first meeting, Marcus guided us through the entire process and made us feel reassured and at ease. On the day, he delivered an amazing ceremony, that was engaging, fun, and incredibly sweet. Many of our guests spoke highly of him, and many believed he was a close friend of ours based on his personality and interaction with us. Marcus made the day incredibly special and personal, and of all the different suppliers we went with, Marcus was the only one we were confident with from the very start, and still managed to exceed our expectations.

“Best Ceremony Ever”
The words titling the review are just one of many compliments Marcus and our ceremony received from our guests, all of them complimented extremely highly the ceremony, Marcus himself, the layout, the words spoken, the special unique touches and so on, the vast majority of which came from Marcus and his amazing take on how to create something special out of our initial ideas.
We were not your typical couple being that we were already married abroad and this ceremony was mainly for our friends and family to see. We wanted to link the two together in a number of ways and had some ideas but Marcus through our planning calls, script writing and even video examples of the script being spoken brought them all to life ahead of the big day, so we knew almost exactly how the ceremony would sound and flow so there would be no surprises.
However the one big surprise was the delivery on the day by Marcus and how it not only made our guests feel but also the two of us in a way that we did not think would happen given this was more for the guests than us. It was expertly delivered, it made us laugh, made us cry and made us re-live our special moments that we had in our lives together so far and our original ceremony all over again.
Marcus could not come with a higher recommendation from us or from our guests.
