Hello, my name is Poppy and it is lovely to meet you. I specialise in creating amazing ceremonies for babies, children and families, with a focus on love, family and life. Whether it is a beautifully crafted naming ceremony, a meaningful adoption celebration or a funeral service for a baby or child, I would be honoured to be your celebrant for your special day.

I believe that every child deserves to be celebrated, and I put children at the heart of everything that I do. My ceremonies are full of warmth and love, with unity, togetherness and family at the centre of everything. Your family is unique and wonderful. You have been on an incredible journey to get to this moment, and it would be my privilege to work with you capture that story in words and create the most perfect celebration for your family.

Congratulations – you’re getting married! I am so excited to hear you are tying the knot. Weddings are all about two people declaring their love and commitment, but also about two families becoming one. I specialise in creating weddings for blended families and couples with children, crafting beautiful ceremonies with children and family at the heart of the ceremony and celebrations. A marriage can mean children gaining siblings and step parents, and a couple becoming a family.
If you are looking for a celebrant to not just marry you, but also celebrate you as a family, then I would love to be your celebrant. Whether you have children together as a couple or from a previous relationship, what better way to celebrate the next stage in your families journey than with a bespoke and personal wedding ceremony. Funerals for Babies & Children – May I offer my sincerest condolences to you at this difficult time. Losing a baby or child is devastating, and I am sorry you are having to say goodbye. I’ll be there to hold space for your grief, and help make the ceremony planning process as easy as possible, while telling your child’s story from a place of love.
Funerals for Bereaved Families – I am so sorry for your loss. I am here to help support your family and children, hold space for your collective grief and create the perfect ceremony for your loved one. It would be a privilege to work with your family to create a ceremony that celebrates your loved ones life, and supports the
family and children through grief. From facilitating memory workshops to creating ceremonies that involve the children, it would be an honour to create a ceremony where everyone can say goodbye.
Baby Loss Memorials – I am so sorry you lost your baby. It is a truly heart-breaking thing to happen. It would be an honour to be your celebrant and work with you to create a personal and bespoke memorial for your baby. Working together we can create something really special that captures the personality, emotion and love of your family, in a way that celebrates and remembers your precious child. I would love to show you all the amazing things we could do to make it special, from planting trees and candle ceremonies, to beautiful poems and and stories to tell your baby how much they are loved and missed.

Baby Loss Memorial
Poppy has been wonderful with all that she has contributed to NEL Sands. She did the remembrance at Christmas and the tree walk and was brilliant at planning and communicating everything beforehand.
She kept in regular contact and put so much of the Christmas event together herself ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day.
Her attention to detail and her empathy for each bereaved family made sure everyone felt they were being listened to and supported. We would recommend Poppy to be the Children’s Celebrant she is an incredibly sympathetic communicator and listener.
Naming Ceremony
Our first baby arrived peak pandemic in May 2020 and we couldn’t do anything to celebrate so when baby no.2 arrived this year I was keen to do something to celebrate them both. We organised a family party and I was planning to raise a glass to toast the kids but then discovered Poppy, The Children’s Celebrant. After meeting her and finding out more about her work we decided we wanted to ask Poppy to lead a naming ceremony for us.
Having never attended a naming ceremony we didn’t really know where to start but Poppy very patiently guided us through the process and designed and delivered a ceremony that was perfect for our family.
She took time to get to know us and ensure we were all comfortable on the day. She ensured that the ceremony was informal and fun as we’d requested and made sure that all our little guests felt involved and had a part to play.
It was a very special day for our families and we are truly grateful to Poppy. If you are thinking of a naming ceremony or need a celebrant for another occasion I would 100% recommend getting in touch with her.
