Hi, I'm Susannah
I offer fully bespoke ceremonies across Hampshire and the New Forest, as well as Berkshire, Surrey, Dorset and beyond.
I firmly believe in inclusivity when it comes to celebrating love and life. I can create and officiate the ceremony you want, without restrictions of faith, spirituality, inclusivity, ceremony location or wording. This also means that there is more freedom for me to offer you a wider choice of what you can include and therefore create the ceremony that is most meaningful to you and your loved ones. I write each ceremony from scratch, so your ceremony will be special, unique and totally unforgettable.
Your ceremony can be exactly what you want and where you want it to be. I’ll work closely with you to write a special, distinctive and one of a kind ceremony, weaving in elements of tradition, symbolism and spirituality as required.
What's my ceremony style?
I’m a researcher by background, so I’ve always needed to be inquisitive and to find out what is important! Several big ‘light-bulb’ moments in my life have led me to becoming a celebrant and as a result, I wanted to be part of helping people celebrate and commemorate their important life events in the way that was most meaningful to them. This, alongside my enquiring mind and my ability to write up a storm, has made celebrancy a natural choice of career for me. I love what I do!
I love an unconventional or full-on ceremony – but there is also a lot to be said for simplicity too. The variety that comes with being a celebrant, and the people I have the opportunity to meet are what I love most about it.

I am enthusiastic, adaptable, a great listener and generally a bit soft! I’ve experienced the highs and lows of life, love and loss and, without a doubt, this life experience makes me a better celebrant.
I’ve been the ‘customer’ in all of the ceremonies I conduct; I’m married, I am a mum, and I have had to plan funerals for people I love. This means that I understand the importance of getting to the heart of what people are looking for, to incorporate everything that is important to them, enabling them to have the ceremony they want.

With me as your wedding celebrant, your ceremony can be exactly how you want it and where you want it to be. You don’t want to marry in church but you do want to include a hymn? Or do you want a completely non-religious wedding ceremony? You can! Would you like to include unusual wedding readings? Would you like to get your wedding guests involved in the ceremony? Yes, you can! Wherever you want your wedding ceremony to take place and whatever you are looking for in a ceremony, I’d love to help you make it a day to remember.

Whether your child is newly born or a little older, a naming ceremony can offer a meaningful welcome to a new addition to your family. Perhaps you are looking for a non-religious alternative to a baptism that includes Guardians or Guideparents (rather than Godparents)? Or you would like to mark the occasion with a prayer but not hold the ceremony in church? Maybe you would like to include some symbolic elements such as tree-planting, sand-blending or candle-lighting? As your baby naming celebrant, I will work with you to create a special ceremony to welcome a child in a way that reflects your preferences and who you are as a family.

I can work with you to create a beautiful and personalised vow renewal or recommitment ceremony to commemorate your life together, one that celebrates your partnership and looks ahead to your future together. Whether you are choosing to renew your commitment to each other at the same time as a key anniversary or a milestone birthday, or whether you would like to would like to create the ‘dream wedding’ you didn’t have first time around, as your vow renewal celebrant, I’m here to help design and deliver the perfect ceremony for you.
Funerals
Why choose Susannah for your funeral?
I will create a fully bespoke funeral or memorial ceremony to allow you to celebrate the life of your loved one, in a place and time of your choosing. I will take the time to meet and talk with you about your loved one so I can create a personalised script that captures the essence of who they really were, one that reflects all of your special memories. You will have full control of the final script and this can be amended and edited according to your wishes.
