Hi, I'm Sue
Born in Liverpool and trained as a Registered General & Psychiatric Nurse. I met my husband on holiday and moved to Cambridgeshire. I have 2 boys and recently retired from working full time from the NHS. My family is very important and their love and support has enabled me to achieve my dream of becoming a celebrant. I enjoy keeping active, I am a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s society and a Flight Sgt in the Air Cadets. I love motivating people and helping them achieve their potential. My years in the NHS allowed me to provide care and support to many patients and their relatives. I want to continue my caring role and am qualified as a celebrant through the Federation of Independent Celebrants (FOIC).
What's my ceremony style?
My style reflects my personality, warm, caring, loving, affectionate and I have a wicked sense of humour and love life.
My ceremonies will be created to reflect what you want that being at the time of a wedding, or sadly when saying good bye to a loved one.
I am passionate about ensuring that your ceremony is one that you will treasure and leave you with long lasting memories.
Its your day so its Your day your way.

Why choose Sue?
I will create a ceremony based on your beliefs and wishes and it will be personal, unique, memorable and one that people will be talking about for many years later.
My joy of life, family and the importance of celebrating life and its achievements is what makes my ceremonies personal, heartwarming, passionate and memorable.
What do I offer?

Weddings
My favourite ceromionies are those that involve the family, them being involved in carrying out readings or poems, or with children lighting candles etc. The unity of the family is important and involving them helps make the bond of marriage stronger with all uniting to support you on the day and for many years to come.
I also love single sex marriages and those I have had the privalage of conducting I cannot enthusise the total commitment each one of them have shown not just on the day but in the life they live. The love eminates from them and their unity is unquestionable.
I can carry your ceremony, At home, in a Marquee. An Evening Sunset Reception/Ceremony, On the beach, In your local pub, hotel or restaurant or a venue of your choice. Your choice of venue is open to your imagination.
You can add to your ceremony vows that you have written, involve friends and family, the use of candles, handfasting, roses, or jumping the broom.. I have birds fly in the rings, or the family pet. Remember its your day
Your ceremony can be religious on non religious and if you wish the ceremony can also reflect your culteral beliefs.

Why choose Sue for your wedding?
Choosing Sue, you will not be disappointed. She met with us on several occasions and nothing was to much. Her passion for life and love helped us create the day we wanted for both of us and our families. Her sense of humour and imagination was extremley helpful and Sue allowed us to think out of the box, being able to include aspects of memories of lost loved ones and rejoicing the love and life we have built for each other.
Sue’s logo Your day your way was just what she created for us and delivered.

Naming Ceremonies
Naming ceremony is an excellent occasion for the celebration of new life the hope and joy and the commitment to support and guide.
I can create a naming ceremony that involves family and friends, and uniting the family in celebrating the birth, offering support and hope for the future of the life of the child.
I can create this ceremony in your home, garden, venue of your choice. You can include readings, prayers, poems that can be read by myself, your family or friends. I also offer the opportunity to celebrate using the Unity Candles or handfasting techniques. I aim to craft a ceremony that meets your beliefs, dreams for your child and a day that you will treasure in your memory.
The naming ceremony has no legal status so your baby’s birth must still be registered at a local registry office within the legal time frame.

Why choose Sue for your naming ceremony?
A naming ceremony is a great alternative to christenings. The ceremony can be fun and can if you wish include a mixture of faith elements.
A naming ceremony does not just have to be for babies, they can be to celebrate adoption.
Naming ceremonies can include the use of symbolic elements such as lighting candles, handfasting and the writing of special messages from all attending placed in a treasure box to be opened on your child’s 18th or 21st Birthday.

Renewal of Vows
Renewing your vows is a gesture of love and commitment that couples choose at special times in their marriage, for example special wedding anniversaries silver or gold. Some couples may not have had the ceremony they may have wished initially for. Difficulties in marriage, wanting a fresh start and sadly at a time when a loved one may have a terminal illness and wish to confirm their love to leave memories of happiness and joy.
I can create a unique and special ceremony that reflects your hopes and dreams for your future together. Sharing your love and commitment with the repeating of vows, exchanging of rings, involving family and friends in your unique renewal of your commitment to each other.
Vow renewals can also be used at a time when a loved one is sadly in the terminal stage of life as a way to help those left behind remember the final days with love and happy memories. This is espcially good to help with the grieving of a loved one and although sad the memories of the day remain forever.

Funerals
Life should be celebrated and as retired nurse I am passionate about acknowledging and celebrating life. My aim is to create a ceremony that reflects your individual memories. I will work with you to understand your wishes, those of your loved one, getting to know you and sharing your memories. This will enable me to create and craft a truly bespoke ceremony which has sentiment, music and words offering a truly fitting tribute.
Saying good bye is important and I will strive to ensure that the ceremony gives you ease and comfort at this time of grief. A ceremony leaving you with a positive lasting impression.
Iam especially passionate about creating ceromonies for the loved one who has suffered from Dementia. This desease may have taken the person many years before, however the life of the individual is special and should be celebrated and my experience in both personal and professional and also being a advocate with the Alzheimers society helps be understand and be able to create a unique and special farewell for you.

A guiding hand…
A friend recommended Sue as a celebrant who was kind, compassionate, gentle and understanding with the bereaved but also who would guide me along the path of organising the celebration of my dear mum who lived to a great age but who had been ill for many years and consequently I was a complete wreck emotionally and physically and my mind was tired. Sue gave me time and nudges to consider how I wanted the service to progress and reminded me that it could take any road I wanted and I didn’t have to stick to the norm. So I did and it was a brilliant way to remember my mum. I was happy, mum would have approved and Sue gave me the confidence I needed. The finishing touches to the afternoon was the beautiful copy of the whole service with all the tributes written by the family together and everyone received a keepsake envelope with a picture of mum on it and forget me not seeds inside. So so lovely. I can’t thank Sue enough for the time she took to get everything absolutely right.
A special person
Sue recently officiated my lovely Dad’s funeral, the personal touch Sue added to the whole process was fantastic. Sue made all the arrangements with the funeral directors and helped and guided me through the service. Everybody who attended commented on the brilliant personal touch and what a lovely person Sue is. Although a sad time I could not recommend Sue highly enough, she really will ensure your service is perfect. xxxx
