My journey as a Celebrant was painful, as it started with the passing of my mother, however always the optimist I turned this life changing experience of conducting her service into a positive and my journey as Celebrant began. Four years on and whether I’m writing weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies or celebration of life ceremonies, all are truly heartfelt and written with love. With over 30 years as a Human Resource Manager, and an unquenchable zest for life, please get in touch so we can begin #yourdayyourway

If you want something a little bit different and more personal to you as a couple we can make this happen

Funerals
At Celebrant of Choice, this is exactly what you will receive, choice, its your day and your way, and as such your day will reflect your choices. My journey as Celebrant was painful, as it started with the passing of my mother, who’s dying wish was that I conducted her funeral. Oh my ! and a couple of other choice words came to mind, as I shook with fear and dread about the thought of having to accomplish, with what at that time seemed impossible. I poured myself a stiff drink, had a word with myself and off I went. Following the funeral service, a lady approached me and asked me for a business card, as her sister had passed away the day prior to the funeral and asked me if I could officiate at the service, as she said she had never laughed or cried, as much and even went to say how much she had enjoyed the service, I explained I wasn’t an official celebrant, and then she said ‘well you should be. I declined the business, but this then gave me food for thought, and after careful consideration and then training with the fantastic Celebrant Number 1 company, I began. Funerals gave me a sense of fulfilling my duty to the deceased and their loved ones, so then decided to branch out and encompass all family occasions. With over 30 years Human Resource Management experience, a zest for life, my celebrant duties bring me peace, love and hope and these are the choices I can share with you. Remember #yourdayyourway

The Perfect Choice
Lisa was everything we hoped and beyond everything we dreamed! We were open to all ideas and gave her pretty much free-reign of the wording and the extras to make the moment special.
At first, everything she suggestion sounded quite quirky and maybe a bit radical for the likes of us! But everything she proposed brought a huge element of fun, felt incredibly bespoke and most of all, made it very memorable! Her speech started as a story, a fairy tail to be precise, about myself and Paul. The way she included herself as the very very very (very very!) kind and wise God Mother made people laugh! That humour remained through the whole story right till we began our vows. We performed a hand fasting ritual just after our son lit the unity candle. Even last minute I asked if she could include the swapping of the rings, and she very kindly added that to the ceremony script too. Lisa even had us jumping over a broom at the end of the aisle! It all worked perfectly, everything symbolised something meaningful, everyone got involved, Lisa looked beautiful and performed beautifully. Best of all, it felt relaxing and full of joy, and by the end of the night many other guests wanted her to perform at their wedding too! A sign that she was loved by many.
I would always reccomend Lisa and we are both so very thankful to have her shining light on one of the most magical days of our lives!

We have no hesitation in recommending Lisa. Lisa has a talent for making you feel relaxed and able to discuss what is a difficult process for every family member. The whole service went smoothly from start to finish and Lisa made the ceremony personal to us. Lisa listened to our wishes and carried them out to the letter. Lisa also drafted up the ceremony notes and sent them to us for review which helped us immensely as we knew what to expect. Don’t look any further Lisa will not let you down. We are eternally grateful to her.
