Hi, I'm David
A former senior priest now an Independent Celebrant I offer a balance of the sacred and the secular, traditional and personal with a warmth and lightness of touch that families and couples really enjoy.
In all my work, my main focus is on those who wish to blend different attitudes to the secular and the spiritual so that neither dominates.
I treat all of my clients with a deep care for their wellbeing, whether they are celebrating a marriage or laying a loved one to rest. Getting to know you as well as possible helps me to create a ceremony that is supportive of your inner journey and reflects the ‘soul’ of your relationship with one another or with your loved one..
Based in the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury in Southern England, I am able to travel worldwide.

Weddings
A former senior priest now an Independent Celebrant who offers a balance of the sacred and the secular, traditional and personal with a warmth and lightness of touch that couples really enjoy.
My main areas of focus are working with discerning ‘second time around’ couples and those who wish to blend two different attitudes to spirituality so that neither dominates, but both is honoured.
The whole journey into and through marriage is hugely important. I like to work with couples to understand their vision for their relationship, the values upon which their relationship is founded and their shared sense of purpose in their lives. This helps me to create a ceremony that is supportive of their inner journey and reflects the ‘soul’ of their relationship.
Based in the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury in Southern England, I am able to travel worldwide.

Renewal of Vows
I love working with all couples to renew their marriage vows to each other, but typically I work with those for whom a big life event or a significant anniversary has made the need to renew vows feel especially important.
I always meet with couples and, where necessary, venues to ensure that you get just the ceremony you want.

As a long experienced priest and celebrant, I work with an enormous variety of families. However, there are some key themes:
1) A desire for a spirituality that has a light touch and is not ‘preachy’.
2) A desire for appropriate humour and the ability to cope with ‘robust’ language where required.
3) The maturity and experience required to deal with young death and complex family dynamics.

Don’t know where to start with saying what an amazing, wonderful experience it was to work with David for our wedding ceremony.
David excelled at every aspect of this in our opinion. He spent time with us understanding who we are and how we wanted this to be represented on our day, he crafted a sympathetic, eloquent and moving ceremony incorporating our ideas and suggestions and delivered it with grace, dignity and humour. He supported and guided those who took part in readings and actions with kindness and wisdom and injected his own somewhat quiet but nevertheless effervescent wellbeing into the whole event.

A wonderfully personalised wedding ceremony
David is an exceptional celebrant, who delivered our wedding vows in a warm and personalised manner. He was very professional to work with throughout the planning process, from the initial meeting right up until the wedding itself.
David took our comments and wove them into a perfectly curated set of vows, which were delivered with just the right balance of sincerity and well-timed humour, that was in keeping with what we had asked for.
