Hi, I'm Fiona
Hi, my name is Fiona and I am an engaging and enthusiastic celebrant who embraces differences, diversity and loves listening to other people’s stories and from that creating a one of a kind ceremony combining the story, beliefs, interests, themes and something different for everyone to remember.
I trained with the UK Society of Celebrants and have a Diploma in Family and Funeral Celebrancy.
I create and perform ceremonies with or without religious content. Weddings, Naming Ceremonies, Handfasting Ceremonies, vow renewals, Memorials and Funerals and any other life event that needs a ceremony. I love a theme.
Your story and Your ceremony can be traditional, quirky, different, spiritual, a bit of everything, but it is yours and yours alone.
What's my ceremony style?
My style is warm and welcoming, your magical ceremony will capture your personalities, your dreams and goals, your likes and sometimes dislikes, your imagination, your family and friends.
I have a clear speaking voice which is so important in the delivery of the ceremony, the tone of my voice will reflect the different parts of the ceremony. It will be warm, heartfelt and sincere, It can include elements such as handfasting, Sand Unity, Drinks Element or it can be completely traditional, religious, non-religious or a bit of both.
The ceremony will tell your story:
The Past – What led to this day.
The Present – Love, Laughter and a few tears.
The Future – Your hopes and dreams.

I am a friendly easy-going people person, love chatting and story telling, especially love stories, children’s stories and life stories.. My qualities include reassuring and patience. I have worked with children most of my working life, including children with SEN.
Versatility is second nature to me from the fun parts of a ceremony to the serious., talking to children and adults, from dressing in a smart suit to dressing up as a Fairy Godmother.
From listening to your ideas, your story, your dreams, your beliefs and your theme (I love a theme) and turning it all into a magical ceremony – that is my aim, my goal and my dream.

Weddings
My ideal couple is anyone in love, but I do love a theme!
But maybe an older couple who have been married before and want to do something completely different from their first wedding.
They may want to include children in the ceremony to strengthen the blended family bond. I have some lovely elements which all the family can join in with.
They may want to combine different beliefs, interests, themes, stories. They want to share their life experiences through different wedding elements.
They will want to make their wedding magical and memorable, creating memories for their friends and family to share and keep for a lifetime.
I want to help you create that dream.

First of all, I would always have an informal chat with the couple to see if we think we can work together, whether we like each other. I find if we have spent a lot of the time laughing, that’s a good sign.
I will meet with the couple in person as many times as is needed before the wedding and of course on the day.
We will create your dream vision, whether it be traditional, quirky, themed, spiritual or something of everything.
If you want friends and family involved, they can all have a job.
Working with children or animals – not a problem.
Making the wedding magical – I have plenty of fairy dust.

Naming Ceremonies
These are joyful ceremonies to welcome a new member of the family, whether a new-born baby, an older child, an adopted child or children coming together as a blended family.
The ceremony can take place anywhere with many people choosing their garden, a local beauty spot, a local hall or park. It also gives you the chance to announce your love, dedication and devotion to your new child or children.
Its the ceremony to introduce your chosen adults to care for your child. Traditionally called Godparents but now can be called Guideparents or other names, wherever the place, the ceremony will be personal and a lasting memory for you all.
I can create a ceremony that puts the child or children at the centre and includes their wishes (If they are old enough to have a voice).
Bubbles, a wishing tree and even a water slide are some of the elements used.

Why choose Fiona for your naming ceremony?
Most of my working life I have worked with children, more recently with children in the care system. I have also worked with children with special needs, as well as being a mother.
Children feel most at ease within familiar surroundings and with familiar people which is why I visit the family and spend time with the children, getting to know them so they don’t see me as a stranger.
It’s important to have elements which they relate to and will enjoy.
I chat with the parents to find out the story of their children, their hopes and dreams for them and create the ceremony around the children and their story.
I will make sure that family and friends have a day to remember.
Renewal of Vows
My ideal couple would be looking to do something a bit different from their original ceremony, maybe embracing something they’ve always wanted to do but wasn’t available when they first married or an interest they have enjoyed together since marrying.
I love a theme, my favourites include Handfasting ceremonies, Viking themed, and outdoor ceremonies like an enchanted forest. You are only limited by your imagination and I have lots of it.
It’s great to involve all the family, after all its a celebration of your lives together, bringing together your different interests, beliefs, goals and dreams.

A Vows Renewal is something special, it is a celebration, and you can mark it by having something magical.
Every relationship has its ups and downs and the fact that you are still together and still in love makes it an ideal time to have that magical ceremony.
You can include children, grandchildren, other relatives, maybe special friends who have supported you.
You can elements or mini ceremonies with the main magical ceremony like handfasting, sand unity ceremonies, a Viking mead ceremony, planting a tree – there are so many or we can make one up to be personal to you.
You can have a theme (I love a theme) – Vikings, Disney, Enchanted Forest, Fairy Glen, Alice in Wonderland or maybe whatever reason you couldn’t have a full traditional wedding and have always wanted one.
I would love to make it happen for you, a personal, unique, magical ceremony making unforgettable memories.
Funerals
I like to look on funerals as a celebration of life and although we have to acknowledge the grief and sadness, it is about helping the family start that grieving process and to remember the lovely memories of the person they have lost
I am equally comfortable with creating ceremonies for children, young or more mature people.
With a background in the church and having been a local preacher for ten years, I have experience in public speaking.
I am able to offer religious, Non-religious or a bit of both for funeral ceremonies.
I have also done ceremonies for a combination of religions, making sure they are both represented and balanced.

Why choose Fiona for your funeral?
As a Funeral Celebrant, I would offer bereaved families a funeral ceremony that reflects the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family. The ceremony will focus on celebrating and/or reflecting the life of the deceased and the tribute will be respectful and highly personal.
I can offer Funeral Services or Celebration of Life ceremonies with or without religious content.
I will always let the family read through the eulogy before the funeral to make sure they are happy with and don’t want to add anything else they have thought of. The family will receive a copy of the complete service in a folder after the funeral for them to keep.
