“I’m an Essex based Celebrant conducting Wedding (Celebration) and Funeral (Celebration of Life) services as well as Naming and Renewal of Vows ceremonies.
I offer services in Colchester and the Tendring Peninsula including Clacton, Weeley, Frinton, Walton and Harwich, Essex, Kent, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hampshire, York, London and NYC!
I can include Handfasting (hence ‘tying the knot’), Sand ceremony, unity candle etc into your ceremony in addition to your ring exchange :)
I’m a qualified Civil Celebrant not a Humanist Celebrant and as such, I’m not led by any belief system such as humanism only by the wants and wishes of my clients. I conduct ‘Ceremonies for all of Life’s Milestones’ as well as writing (in advance of need) funeral scripts as there’s more than one choice for your final farewell!”

I love to create deeply personal, unique and memorable ceremonies enhanced with symbolic acts and/or surprise elements involving guests that often get overlooked.
I can’t think of anything better than working with families to create their dream event. I’ll happily entertain the idea of a themed wedding in an unusual location at an unearthly hour because your ceremony should be driven by your vision – Your day, your way, what could be better!

Weddings
My ideal couple know what they want for their perfect day, – whether its a woodland setting or a barn, a surprise festival wedding or an intimate ‘elopement’ ceremony at dusk on Halloween, I’ve done them all and loved every minute.
From beaches to boho, barns to ballrooms you can have a Wedding Celebration ceremony anywhere with the owners permission, so the sky’s the limit!
I include:
1 x symbolic act eg. Handfasting (hence ‘tying the knot’), sand ceremony, unity candle
A beautiful commemorative certificate to sign with witnesses during the ceremony
A presentation copy of the ceremony in a keepsake folder

Naming Ceremonies
Many congratulations, you have a new addition to your family! How hard was it to agree on a name? A huge amount of thought goes into choosing a name, researching its meaning, paying homage to family members and finally bestowing the name on your new bundle of joy. So why wouldn’t you want to celebrate with friends and family and welcome your little one into the world!

A Guide Parents keepsake certificate for them to sign during the ceremony

Renewal of Vows
My ideal couple are those that are happy in their own skin and with each other!
Having found the ‘one’ many years ago, are you very proud of reaching this special Wedding Anniversary – you should be, well done you!
Would you like to revisit that happy day when you both said ‘I do’? Then a Renewal of Vows ceremony would be a great opportunity for a family and friend’s get together.
You could write new vows to each other or simply reaffirm the vows you made on that momentous day when you pledged your love and commitment to each other.

Funerals
I conduct Celebration of Life services at both Weeley and Colchester Crematoriums. I also conduct services at alternative venues like the Willow Room at the Beth Chatto Gardens, which are wonderful and not constrained by time. Funeral services can be held anywhere (with the owners permission) even in your own home!
Some families have supported their loved ones wishes and had a ‘direct’ cremation, no attendees and held a Memorial, Thanksgiving or Celebration of Life service at a beautiful venue either the evening before or some time after.
I offer a free ‘Committal’* when I have conducted the ‘Celebration of Life’, Thanksgiving or Memorial service in a venue other than a crematorium *(not applicable if a ‘direct’ cremation – no attendance).
I am a great listener and am very good with words. I conduct extensive research to enhance your loved one’s story, painting a verbal portrait of their life, loves and legacy. I have helped over thirty families to create deep and meaningful ceremonies.
I am easy to get on with and can deliver beautiful scripts telling your loved ones story, recite specially chosen poetry and help families to say farewell as they see fit.
I offer a free ‘Scattering of Ashes’ service for anyone for whom I’ve conducted a ceremony.
I DO NOT charge for anyone under the age of eighteen.

Why choose Jenny for your funeral?
Working with ‘likeminded’ funeral directors I can enable families to undertake elements of both the care of their loved one and the funeral service itself. If you would like to be ‘involved’ in the end of life care of your loved one or just want to procure certain elements of a funeral and do the rest yourself then why not get in touch.
I can also supply a low carbon footprint, eco-friendly (flat-packed) coffin for decoration if required!

A dignified and highly personal funeral ceremony
Having Jenny carry out my late dear friends funeral 4 years ago I did not hesitate to contact her again when my friends husband passed away. As before Jenny was very kind and understanding and made the ceremony very personal to Tony. We cried and we laughed and everyone said afterwards that it just how Tony would have wanted it. Thank you Jenny you made a difficult time much less painful for us all.
