The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants
Hi, I'm Lou
“It’s all in the storytelling…” Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile! With a background in theatre, arts and entertainment, both on and off stage, I always wondered if a career as a celebrant would work for me. So I trained with the wonderful Fellowship of Professional Celebrants and my dream job came true! I’m originally from Surrey but we moved to Whitstable in 2011 and I now adore walking my gorgeous westie Bobbi on the seafront and then winding up consuming the local delicacy of oysters, washed down with a good, cold Kent beer! When I’m not standing in front of guests at a wedding, I am standing in front of music lovers singing with my blues band Stormy Sundays. I also present ‘Lou’s Rhythm & Blues Show’ on 94.6 Cabin FM every Thursday night from 7pm, I work part-time in the Box office at The Gulbenkian and when I’m not doing that, I’m cleaning the house!
What's my ceremony style?
I lead with my heart and walk alongside you, whatever journey you’re on, to create a meaningful ceremony or service that puts the story at the centre of the day. With my background working on and off stage, being a celebrant is essentially like working in the theatre – it is all in the storytelling. As an actor, you take your audience on a journey and share all the wonderful parts of that journey. That’s exactly what I do with my ceremonies. We create and then share moments of joy, love, healing and contentment and they give meaning and depth to us, and have done so for many generations. Additionally ceremonies that are filled with hilarious stories to raise and smile or laugh, can make your event so very special. “I love this job. But it doesn’t feel like a job. And I like that feeling.”
Why choose Lou?
I offer creative storytelling with love, joy, care and compassion, that captivates and evokes the true meaning of life’s milestone moments.
So whether you are organising your wedding and would like something that truly reflects you as a couple, celebrating your lasting love by renewing your vows, welcoming your beautiful new baby into the family or giving your loved one a warm and uplifting farewell, I am passionate about creating bespoke, authentic and heartfelt ceremonies that offer the freedom and flexibility to give unique and treasured memories for you and your family. In fact, whatever the milestone moment you want to mark, I’ll make it a wonderful memorable one.

Renewal of Vows
A Renewal of Vows Ceremony is a wonderful way to mark a milestone in your a marriage. It’s a chance for couples to look back on the journey that have taken thus far and to look forward to the next chapter with optimism, dedication, commitment and of course, love.
These ceremonies can happen when you mark certain dates, for instance 25 years to the day you got married, or just because. Yes, just because you wish to celebrant your love in front of your family and friends. Any why the hell not!?!

Warmth, Authenticity and Good Humour
Louise was our celebrant at our wedding at the Lost Village of Dode on 1st April, and we couldn’t be happier. Louise took time to understand our unique ‘story’ and her interest comes from a place of deep authenticity and a commitment to get the details right. Our ceremony was wonderful, a true reflection of ‘us’, and we have Louise to thank for this. Louise crafted a narrative around our own written vows that beautifully captured the essence of our relationship, sharing anecdotes that held the room, very much delivered in a way that was clearly heartfelt. I couldn’t recommend Louise more. Whatever your ceremony, you’re in very safe hands with Louise and Kent Creative Ceremonies.
Our Woodland Wedding
Thank you very much Lou! You have been understanding, professional, and frankly, a delight from start to finish, you performed celebrant and master of ceremony duties on our wedding day in the woods.
Meeting us several times, a couple of months before our special day, you took the time to collect our and our families background stories, to not just run through the vows, but to give a wonderful story to the congregation of our past meetings and journey so far.
We could not have wished for a better celebrant to provide an exceptional ceremony. Your suggestions with other ideas to help our day go smoothly were very welcome, as was all your support. To anyone who wants their own bespoke wedding ceremony we would recommend you every time. Should we ever require any of your other varied services, you will be our first choice. Again, thank you so much!”
Our Wonderful Wedding!
We live in Thailand, so organising a wedding from abroad has certainly been interesting. Having landed back in England with 13 days until the big day, we decided just 7 days before the wedding that we wanted a celebrant and I gave my husband the challenge of finding one.
What an incredible find when he found Lou. We only met Lou once before our wedding and she was warm, kind and professional. I honestly felt like we had known her for years. When she carried out the ceremony, Lou spoke with passion and elegance. She told our love story in her own special way and there were lots of happy smiles, laughter and tears.
Lou has a natural ability to understand people and we connected with her instantly. We could not be happier with Lou as our celebrant and she made the ceremony so heartfelt and personal. We cannot recommend her highly enough.
