Hi, I'm Marcia
Hi I´m Marcia, fondly known as “M”. A black, passionate, creative, eclectic wedding celebrant, originally from Leeds, UK, but now based in Málaga, Southern Spain. I write and officiate bespoke wedding ceremonies for busy couples in the UK and Spain. I particularly love an outdoor wedding in the Spanish sunshine, bilingual ceremonies in English and Spanish, Spanish elopements, LGBTQ+, multicultural, multiracial and micro weddings. My skill is in the unique way I weave and narrate your love story into a vibrant ceremony that can include a symbolic ritual like a hand-tying. I´m vibrant and eclectic; maybe a bit like you!! It´s in the bright clothes I wear; maybe that you wear…My crazy hair!! My Afro Caribbean heritage. Your passion for life, My passion for bringing your story alive. Want colour? then that´s exactly what you´ll get…we´ll share this together on your special day… If you want an alternative wedding ceremony full of life; that weaves your amazing love story into symbolic rituals like a Hand-fasting, Jumping the broom or other cultural rituals and more that´s me… I use the experience from my vault of listening to people’s stories of love and life over the decades, and that´s a lot… alongside my creativity and imagination for interpreting stories. Added into the mix; positive energy and inspiration I feel when I´m connected to nature to write your bespoke wedding ceremony. Why choose Marcia?
If someone had told me in the future, I would learn to speak Spanish, I would probably have thought maybe!! Why not!! I´ve always considered Spanish a romantic language and loved the vibrant culture…But if they´d said Marcia you´re going to become a celebrant and write and officiate bespoke destination wedding ceremonies in the UK and Spain; I don´t think, I would have believed them but it´s really been one of the best things I´ve ever done… Don´t get me wrong I loved working within UK charities where I worked for 20+ years supporting and motivating vulnerable individuals; but I knew I longed for something more; to use my creativity every day.
Like you, my dream began on paper followed by my revelation that I could use my vault of experience helping couples to have a celebrant led ceremony. With my creativity and passion for working with people; I took the plunge and trained to become a celebrant.
What do I offer?
Weddings
My ideal clients love to travel when they have the time and like the mix of the UK and Spain but are not into glamping or anything like that. You enjoy something a bit different like a boutique hotel off the main high street with a cosy wood-burning stove with an interior that´s vibrant like your personalities because you love bright colours.
What really appeals to you is the intimacy, “just the two of you”. You love each other´s company and so an elopement or micro wedding appeals to you. You like to explore new things, interesting venues, restaurants; trying out new food trends and experiences like an alternative ceremony symbolic ritual like a hand-fasting. You especially enjoy having fun together and with friends.
My couples feel an empathy towards me because of my past career working in charities for 20+ years and my similar values and traits that resonate with yours I.e., caring, person centred, trustworthy, vibrant, naturally warm.

I am passionate about helping couples to achieve their dreams and aspirations. In fact I have always been passionate about helping people and worked in the charity sector for over 20+ years. Here I helped vulnerable individuals and those in crisis situations to recover and achieve their life goals and aspirations. It is these skills, my caring nature, motivation; along with my rich experience of life that I bring to my ceremonies.
I am vibrant, eclectic and creative and this infuses into my celebrant personality and style. I have a warmth and natural energy that exudes when I am in my most happiest place, helping people to achieve their dreams and goals; which to me are the same in marriage.

Knew she’d create a gorgeous wedding.
Marcia was an absolute dream! We got along from the first meeting, had a laugh and knew she’d create a gorgeous wedding. She wants everything to be centred around the couple and our family haven’t stopped going on about how personal our ceremony was; they’d never experienced anything like it. So happy we chose M! X

Marcia wrote and officiated our baby daughter’s naming and gratitude ceremony in our garden in Madrid. Although my husband and I were both christened, we wanted to celebrate and welcome our new baby in a non-religious way but really had no idea how to go about it at first. But from our very first meeting, my husband and I knew we had found the right celebrant for us! Marcia’s warm, colourful and energetic personality shone through, and all throughout the months leading up to the event she was on hand, offering suggestions and ideas.
What we loved the most about the day was how personal, relaxed and how very ‘us’ the ceremony was, which was a testament to all of Marcia’s work, listening to us and getting to know us in the months before. She created the most beautiful ceremony that perfectly captured our story as a new family of three, and all that our new baby means to us.
M was super flexible and great with some last minute changes we had to make. Although it was her first naming ceremony, you wouldn’t have thought so! Everything went so smoothly and we are so grateful for how special and beautiful M helped to make the day. It will be a day we never forget!

A consummate professional, she is patient and kind, liaising perfectly with our photographer and even expertly negotiating a way around some unexpected construction work that could’ve de-railed our ceremony plans.
