Hi, I'm Kerrie
The Birds & The Bees is my own creation based upon how similarly these two tiny creatures work on this planet.
Relationships take work and there is nothing more rewarding than looking back over the years at how you change and blossom throughout those years, just like nature itself.
I am a UK trained Celebrant with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, who decided to follow my dreams and set up The Birds & The Bees Celebrant Services. There is no getting away from the sheer indulgence of meeting people and hearing all about their love stories, experiences and their own unique take on life.
Meeting couples from all cultures and beliefs who come together under that beautiful umbrella called Love, inspired me to follow my dream and help people create unique ceremonies.
What's my ceremony style?
I would struggle to say I deliver a certain type of Ceremony as the couples and families I meet are all unique. Their Ceremonies are created with that in mind. For wedding ceremonies, I do love to include a Handfasting element as these can be created in so many different ways and leave a very special memory with the couple and family ( and me actually). However, we can discuss all sorts of ideas that might be relative to your nationality and culture or your passions and see if we can bring those into your Ceremony or Service. Often, it can be very nice to involve friends or family members during the Ceremony and again we can discuss all sorts of ideas to include this if required.

I hope future couples / families would choose me for my relaxed yet capable character. I like to meet the couples / families in person preferably ( although not always possible ), for a no obligation chat to see if I am the right fit for them. I appreciate we are all very different around the world and humble enough to believe Love is really all we need to get through the good and the not so good times.
I will really listen to your requirements and help bring them to fruition through the chaos of organizing a Celebration / Service, with a huge element of heart and soul included.
What do I offer?
Weddings
I am an Independant Wedding Celebrant with a passion for learning and creating something unique for every Ceremony.
No two couples are ever the same because their Love is theirs and their journey belongs to them.
That is the most interesting and exciting part of this business and it is an honor to ‘Bee’ part of someone’s special day.
From a couple who have literally eloped from their home Country to run away to the peaks of the Lake District to weddings on lavish lawns, beaches, barns or some of the worlds finest hotels, you will all receive the same love, respect and service from me as your Celebrant.
We will work closely together to inspire elements you may not have even thought about. My goal is to ensure you feel confident and stress free when your big day arrives, so that you can both enjoy and revel in the Ceremony itself before moving onto your Celebrations.
I work well with venues and wedding planners however, I am available to book directly should you wish to consider a more intimate, sustainable Ceremony , for example in your own garden perhaps. I hope future couples would choose me for my relaxed yet capable character and my years of international, award winning experience.
Where possible, I like to meet my couples either in person or over zoom before their Ceremony to ensure we are all on the same page and run through their Ceremony content and choreography. This helps take away any stresses they may have about that part of the day especially if we are working internationally or from another County for example. I will really listen to my couples requirements and guide them with a huge element of heart and soul guaranteed.
Naming Ceremonies

Ceremony really matters for any rite of passage and giving your baby their name is just the start of their journey.
Perhaps you are welcoming an adopted child into your family and you would like a ceremony to welcome them into their new family.
Siblings, other family members and friends can all be involved in so many ways to show their love, delight and support for the future of this child.

Why choose Kerrie for your naming ceremony?
When our Son was born, I had his name carved in my heart way before he arrived. When he arrived, his name just seemed to suit him.
We had spent hours talking about this name and what it would mean to us and often couples choose a name which has deep rooted meaning to them and the whole family. Others just cant decide until the baby arrives. There is no right or wrong and its great fun along the way. Either way, when you officially introduce your child to their name surrounded by those important to you – there is no better reason to celebrate.
Renewal of Vows
Working with a couple on their renewal is a privilege and can be extremely deep and emotional. You can bet I wouldn’t bat an eyelid at your reasons for wanting to do this. That’s what makes life interesting and renews my faith in Love and humanity.
I will work with you both to get the best out of both of you. Elements of surprise and symbolic elements can make a Vow Renewal so unique and will have you feeling all excited and ‘in love’ all over again.
I actually prefer to refer to it as ‘Reviewing your Nows’ because we really only have the now!

Marriage is not an endless bed of roses. There are times that can really put your marriage to the test.
Life happens and at some point, you may feel like you both have completely different things you would like to promise each other for your future years ( especially after surviving a pandemic together right ).
Funerals
With life there is death and sadly there is so much to think about during this difficult and emotional time.
Trained through the Institute of Professional Celebrants for funeral celebrancy & The Funeral Academy for funeral arranging/care of the body & mortuary management, I will work closely with you to create and deliver the final farewell aligned to your personal values.
Saying goodbye to a loved one is no easy task. Utilising the skills of a Professional Funeral Celebrant can help immensely.
As an Independent Celebrant, I will work closely with you and your chosen Funeral Director to ensure respect, dignity and understanding, at all times.
Through my own personal experiences and transition through this life, I have come to realise that creating an end of life Ceremony is just the start of an emotional journey. I will take time to listen, to capture what is really important to you at this sad time in order to create a truly personalised tribute, I will write the service from the heart, accurately depicting the deceased to celebrate their life.
As a Celebrant, my role is to ensure that you and your family feel safe and confident in my ability to deliver a Ceremony that will support you and your family.
A Secular Ceremony allows freedom of wording and symbolic elements in a way that is appropriate to your values. We are able to offer acknowledgement to a particular belief system should that be important too without making it the main focus of the service.

I hope families would choose me for my relaxed yet genuine and capable character. Meeting families in person where possible, really helps them to understand the process of what will happen on the day and give them someone to lean on at a time most needed. Everyone will be treated with respect, care and humility and can be assured of a heartfelt service.

Pleasure to work with!
I reached out to Kerrie on behalf of my client as they needed a celebrant super last minute. Kerrie was so kind enough to make it work despite how busy she is and my word were we pleased she did. Throughout the whole process Kerrie was so professional and organised. She was super sweet and thought above and beyond for my clients. HUSBANDS FUNERAL
When my husband passed suddenly I was at a loss what to do in regards to the service. Kerrie took that pressure away from me and from the moment we met I instantly knew she would do my husband proud.
Kerrie took time to listen whilst we recalled stories and memories of my husband. The service she delivered for my husband was perfect in every way. She spoke with empathy and compassion and also some humour allowing us to smile or even laugh for a moment on an otherwise very sad day. Unique Services, Just Like You Are!
It is always a pleasure to work with Kerrie as celebrant for funerals. She takes time to meet with and listen to the family as they talk about their loved one and bases the unique service she delivers on this information. She has an incredible eye for detail and every service is very personal to the family, be it in her help with designing an Order of Service or enhancing music choices or adding humour where appropriate. Each service is 100% about the loved one and those closest to them. As we are all individuals, this is reflected in the words Kerrie so cleverly and passionately puts together and delivers as she celebrates the life of the person who has sadly passed.
