Hi, I'm Tom
Hello, I’m Tom Bailey, an independent celebrant working across Brighton, Sussex and the South East.
Whether you have a really clear idea about what you want, or need a bit more guidance, we will work together to really examine your wishes, hopes and intentions for your occassion.
Taking this information, and weaving it together with the story of your relationship, we will create a unique, personal and meaningful ceremony to mark your special occassion.
What's my ceremony style?
I am a calm, sensitive and centred celebrant.
I believe that it’s my responsibility to create space and lead you and your guests through the ceremony we’ve created together, allowing them to enjoy being part of proceedings, and you to enjoy being at the centre of your special day.
Why choose Tom?
Designing, planning and thinking about about audience and participant journeys through shared experiences has been central to my working life for nearly 20 years now.
Over this time I’ve really come to really appreciate the vital importance of lifes important occasions and rites of passage, and of marking them properly. I believe that these occassions can be serious without excess solemnity, and that we can find ritual and authenticity for them without becoming excessively new age or alternative.
What do I offer?
Weddings
Have you ever been to a wedding and had a nice day, but didn’t really recognise who actual the service was referring to?
Me too, and I don’t think there’s any need for it.
I passionately believe that a wedding ceremony should reflect the people at the heart of it; their personalities, and the nature of their relationship. But I’m also aware that as people move away from more traditional scripts for these occasions, it can sometimes feel tricky to find the right form and tone.
This is where we can work together, to ensure that your guests come away from your wedding amazed at how the ceremony reflected you both so well.

What gets me excited is putting together a ceremony which reflects the couple; their journey thus far, as well as their hopes and intentions for the relationship moving forward into married life.
Naming Ceremonies
The arrival of a new baby into the family – and onto the planet! – is one of the most significant events of our lives.
It seems to me that the decline in the numbers of babies being Christened is a lost opportunity to acknowledge this, as well as to express our hopes and commitment to this new being.
It’s also a rare opportunity to gather together and explicitly acknowledge the network of family and friends that this baby will rely on throughout their lives.
Of course there are really no rules now when it comes to baby naming ceremonies, which of course can be a bit daunting. I would be honoured to work with you to create a meaningful ceremony, which reflects you and your wishes.
