East Grinstead | August 2019
Last year Alex lead the naming ceremony for our third child, Evangeline. From the moment we spoke, I knew Alex was the celebrant for us. Warm, creative and full of empathy she helped us to pull together a beautiful event that had a lot of personal meaning after a tricky period of our lives. She listened to all our considerations, and had a very holistic approach that helped us to plan the day exactly as we wanted it. Her ideas and suggestions were very spot on for us a a family, and it felt like we were creating the day together which made her a hugely integral part of the celebration, more like a friend by the end. She was unperturbed by some of our quirks, and was hugely reassuring about my obsessive nature!
The care and love she puts into her efforts (often going above and beyond what we had expected) was second to none, I truly believe she's in the perfect vocation for her and anyone that is fortunate enough to have her working with them will surely agree! I couldn't recommend her more, and am hugely grateful to her for a great day that we will cherish forever. You're amazing Alex, thank you again from all of us xxxxx
Wow. What can I say. This blew my socks off. I am deeply humbled by your words. Thank you so much. It really means so much to me.
Love to all the family. Xxx
Brighton | March 2019
Alex helped us prepare for my son’s naming day far more than I had imagined possible. She connected with everyone we wanted involved in the service and guided and supported them in finding the rights words. And the end result was wonderful. It was such a beautiful and relaxed service that everyone present said was enjoyable. I got one comment that it was ‘very Brighton’ - I knew what this friend meant and totally agreed. This was exactly the atmosphere we were aiming for so it was perfect.
Thanks Alex for all your hard work - as I told you in person I would be very happy to recommend you wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a celebrant for their special day.
Melody it was a delight to write and deliver this ceremony for Arto.
Watching Keir reading his promisses was so emotional. Thank you for asking me!
Kind regards Alex.
Camper Marmalade Festival | June 2020
“Just wanted to say thank you for what must have been one of your most intense marriage ceremonies! I pretty sure it will take some beating! It was absolutely brilliant! Exactly what we asked for, and that was a tall order! It was, by your own admission, "the most bonkers marriage service...ever !"I hope you had a great time too, it's a great festival anyway and this added to it hugely! I doubt anyone will forget it in a hurry! We certainly won't, and will no doubt be celebrating our anniversary there for some time to come. Thank you again for a truly brilliant ceremony, the best day of our life together so far! and the personally dedicated signed photo from Michael Palin himself.”
Andy and Anja - oh boy what crazy fun was this. It was, as you said, bonkers. Never before have I been asked to do a ceremony without a script (not sure I ever want to again!).
So glad you liked the picture from Michael Palin himself - I was so excited when I received it and could give it to you on stage!. Wish you both the very best fun and crazy marrige for the future - after all 'Life's to short' to do boring! All the very best Alex.

You really did make our day wonderful and we so appreciate all the work you out in and at such short notice! Sadly my mum passed away on easter day so it has been a bit of a hard time recently. We are so thank ful that she managed to see our wedding and I really believe it gave her something to be happy about in the darkest of times, so thank you so much for being part of our day and really making it so magical for us.
Dear Gabi and Ian
Firstly thank you for asking me to be your celebrant.
I am so sad to hear about your mum. I am just pleased we could make your wedding special for her. It was an honour to meet her.
Looking through the photo's I adore the one of Dylan as he gave you your rings. A magical moment. One I hope you will treasure for every. Take care Alex xx
Barnsgate Manor | May 2019
Alex was the perfect choice as celebrant for our wedding. She spent time getting to know us, listened, and shared her own ideas and the result was a personalised ceremony that combined all the elements we wanted.
There was just the right balance, between traditional and modern, meaningful moments and good fun. The ring warming and family candle lighting really stood out for us and many people commented how different and special the wedding was. We would not hesitate to recommend Alex if you are looking for a celebrant.
Hazel and Dot,
It was just such a pleasure to work with you. I am so glad you warned me how laid back your Nigerian guest could be!
It has been a pleasure getting to know you both and delighted to now be able to offer your amazing honey-moon signature safaris to couples looking for a honeymoon! Alex xx
Peckham | July 2019
"We will forever be grateful to Alex for masterminding our wedding ceremony and being our celebrant. She asked us all the right questions before the big day, listened to us and made the ceremony exactly what we wanted it to be. Alex had some inspired ideas that made the day so special for me and my husband (for example, she had the idea to start the ceremony with our nieces, nephews and godchildren bringing flowers on to the stage). Thank you Alex! Chris & Simon"
Dear Chris and Simon - it was a total joy to be part of your wedding day. I knew as the flower children led the procession and started the ceremony I would have tears in my eyes - and I did. Thank you so much for asking me to be your celebrant.
Tunbridge wells | June 2019
We were so happy to have found Alex and that she could commit to our date as such late notice. We didnt know where to begin but Alex came up with some fabulous ideas and really got to know us. She was able to put together a fantastic ceremony for us and incorporate our backgrounds as well as getting across the important messages that we wanted. She was flexible, understanding, always available to talk and really made the day.
Lingfield Park Racecourse | February 2019
We hired Alex for a very unusual renewal of vows for our parents Golden Wedding Anniversary ; unusual because our Mother knew nothing about it!
Alex went to great lengths to ensure she captured the memories of their 50+ years together and what marriage and family meant to them both.
She came up with an ingenious way of leading into the ceremony without our mother being aware of what was going on meaning it was a total surprise to her. Alex captured everything we wanted from the day and more ensuring that we created a very special day that will be cherished by our parents forever.
Thank you so so much. It was an honour to finally meet your mum and to be part of their special day.
One I hope you all can treasure.
Tunbridge Wells Crematorium | September 2018
We were so pleased to have found Alex Harrison to help us put my mum to rest. She was empathetic and so obviously genuine in sharing our grief that it was easy to welcome her into our family for that difficult and emotional period of time. She went above and beyond the call of duty by travelling out to meet our dad, to get to know him and to talk to him about our mum so she could be ready to support fully on the day. In the lead up to the service there was much to organise and she helped make this happen with patience and understanding. On the day, the service was beautifully organised, calm, empathetic and absolutely in tune with what the family needed at that delicate time. Thank you Alex for playing such a central role in bringing us comfort and helping us all lay our mum to rest.
Dear L, M & Q
Thank you so much for your very kind words. Meeting all of you, and visiting your mums beloved garden was so important. I am just glad that I have managed to help make your mums funeral the celebration of her life that you wanted.
The Party Field East Sussex | July 2018
We invited Alex (whom we had never met before we started planning) to officially join our wedding breakfast and the rest of our day as our guest and friend!
We don't know how to write a higher praise than that! What a wonderful, empathetic, beautiful human being.
When you have your heart set on creating a crazy, wonderful, intensely personal, monster of a festival weekender, picking a celebrant that can pull of a ceremony in keeping is a helluva daunting task. Will they get us? Can they deliver a personal ceremony that doesn't come close to generic? Can they mix humour and poignancy and, in our case, a touch of theatrics? Can they mould to fit the occasion we want to create?
With Alex, we got everything we wanted and so much more! She was perfect in every way.
From our first phone call to the face to face meetings and the Skype calls and WhatsApp thread, Alex was with us every step of the way. The time she put into really getting to know who we are as individuals and as a couple was so worth the fee. Not just that she took the time, more that she was committed, flexible and accommodating to getting everything just the way we wanted it. (We'll say it again, a friend we invited for the rest of the day as our guest)
Alex even went the extra mile when we needed help sourcing local suppliers.
She was equally not afraid to calmly guide and steer us when warranted (Mr. G in particular needs reigning in from time to time).
Mr. G, in particular, is very thankful for the squishy hug and calming presence in the hour before the big day!
Alex created the perfect, bonkers, romantic, poignant, comedic, ceremony we dreamed off. To a tee. And when you're as detail-focused as we are, that really is saying something.
Dear Dear Mr and Mrs G
It was an incredible honour and a complete pleasure to work with you. I just adore the way you too understood each other so well and had such visions of what you wanted (and were not afraid to say so! From the moment I got the nod that Mrs G had arrived (in the horse and carriage) and Mr G was skipping his way round the field to the final exit to a personally composed version of Dangerzone. Love you guys! Looking forward to sharing some Gin and (dare I be this cheeky - a naming ceremony in the not too far distant future!)
Swarling Manor, Kent | July 2018
"Thank you so much for a wonderful day. The service you put together was truly beautiful and captured us brilliantly. We had the most amazing time."
I am so glad I could help, especially at such short notice. It was a lovely ceremony in a beautiful setting.

Mr and Mrs G this was such an honour and a pleasure. Seeing Mrs G arriving across the field with the Horse and Carriage was tear making from the start.

When I spoke to Alex after the ceremony I thought she was a personal friend. I thought she had known C&J forever. I cannot believe she only met them about three months ago. The ceremony was so completely "them".
Ooooh - thank-you. Working with and getting to know C&J was brilliant. They had such a vision of what they wanted and being part of their journey was just fantastic. What an amazing entrance they both made! I loved every minute and am really honoured they chose me.
Iford, East Sussex | June 2018
Alexandra was the perfect celebrant for our babies naming ceremony. Right from the moment we spoke on the phone to the ceremony itself she put her heart and soul into our special day... she was great with communication and was very enthusiastic to make our day special.. which it was and so many fond memories. There is so much work involved in planning a ceremony and Alexandra spoke in detail with us to arrange the ceremony and gave us lots of additional help to find a venue and write our promises. We highly recommend Alexandra as your celebrant.
Thank you so much. It was such a lovely ceremony and an honour to lead for such a special little person.

Firstly, If I could make you a cup of tea, or pour you a glass of wine I would.
Simply put I love people and find their stories fascinating, often inspiring and always moving - even if they are funny. I want your ceremony to be what you want. To reflect you in the way that is right for you. When you book me you get me. 23.5/7 (we all need a few moments to ourselves!).
I know you might not remember everything you want the first time we talk so we will go over everything again and again to make sure.
I am very open-minded and welcome your ideas, but I am equally happy to give you guidance or suggestions. Especially if you are not sure what you want. I am here to hold your hands through the process from start to finish.
A little like ordering a cake - we need to know the right ingredients to use to tailor it to your taste.
If you like a bit of theatre - I say bring it on! But if you want to keep it simple then that is just dandy (less can be more!) I am patient, flexible creative (some might consider me alternative). I am very very dedicated. I prefer to do less weddings a year but spend more time in getting how you want it. I will provide an order of service with checkpoints so we can check off the key elements around the flow of the ceremony (your entrances, when people stand, music timings etc). Basically this is like a bit of choreography from start to finish so we have to get the timings right - after all we don't want the photographer to be in the wrong place when it comes to "The kiss"
I am always at the end of a phone, email or skype, to answer questions, make suggestions. Often I will set up a whatsapp group so both of you are included and can be part of the journey. After all it is about the two of you and your wishes!
