Hi, I'm Laura

Hello my name is Laura Grayson. I specialise in crafting and leading completely personalised wedding, sequel, renewal, commitment and naming ceremonies. By using me as your Celebrant there are no restrictions! The timing, content and location of your ceremony is entirely up to you…Be that a blustery seaside affair on an east coast beach, a cosy fireside occasion in a tiny boutique hotel or a festival tepee theme in your Gran’s back garden, I promise to do my utmost to make your unique ceremony everything you hope for and some.

What's my ceremony style?

My business, All Your Ceremonies, was born from my love of all celebrations and for helping those who are in love to share incredible moments: with one another, an offspring or fur-baby and themselves. My background is in teaching, art and for some years, I was a wedding dress consultant meaning I am creative, dedicated, unflappable and highly adaptable. I pride myself in getting to know you and yours, listening carefully, being trustworthy and non-judgey! These skills lend themselves to me successfully, carefully and passionately planning your perfect ceremony, one that suits your style to a tee. PS. I am a big fan of dressing glamorously as well as ‘fancy dressing’! You do you!

Being told immediately after their ceremony, by my couples, how happy they are and that their guests thought their ceremony was the best they had ever attended. The currency of love and joy – you can’t beat it.

Why choose Laura?

This Celebrant believes that your love should be celebrated in a big – no massive, HUGE – and meaningful way to you. So, I won’t ever just read from a generic script because together we will write your love story, ensuring that your ceremonial journey is a magical rollercoaster of happy sighs, belly laughs and emotional tears delivering you to your next stop as newly weds or newly named. Your ceremony will captivate your beloved guests and will be forever remembered because it was so perfectly personal.

What do I offer?

Weddings

My ideal couple would really know themselves. So they would be comfortable with their unique, probably quirky choices. They would fully commit to making their ceremony theirs and theirs alone, ensuring that it was fun as well as wholehearted and earnest in equal measure. This doesn’t mean that I want all my clients to break with tradition altogether; I just hope they are keen to put their spin on the occasion, making it truly memorable for all included.

My packages include an initial free telephone consultation followed by a meeting to discuss your ideas about your ceremony. Next, I gather essential information from you via my online questionnaire and, with your permission, will contact close friends and family, to embellish details about your romance and so I can really get to know you. All of this information helps me to write your perfect ceremony script with as many edits as are necessary until you are completely satisfied. If you require, we can carry out a rehearsal at your venue. On the day, I will be there in plenty of time to ensure everything is just so and after the ceremony, I won’t be rushing off to another client. Your day is yours alone.

Why choose Laura for your wedding?

My training is in Family Celebrancy, not celibacy, which means that I can craft and lead your bespoke wedding. The one that you really, really want not the one that you think you ought to have. My promise – by listening carefully to you, I will weave your story throughout your perfectly personalised wedding ceremony. Know that I will be by your side, metaphorically, from our first contact, right until the recessional music fades on the day.

Naming Ceremonies

Listening is my business, asking pertinent questions so that your naming ceremony is perfect for your family. This nosiness means I can make suggestions so that your personalised ceremony is not too long, not too short but Goldilocks ‘just right’, including all of the elements that are important to you. I honestly love a d.i.y. naming ceremony meaning that the location is a family favourite and serves all generations accordingly. This could be in your back garden or a local park – anywhere as long as we have permission from the landowner and we can ‘coral’ the guests. Nothing worse than a parent rushing off for a go on the swings when they should be making their promises!

Let’s start with a chat so that we can work out what you envisage your welcome to the world will feel like. We can decide who will be involved in the actual ceremony – will you have Odd Parents or Guide Friends? Then think about the what – will there be music, readings, singing, the exchange of promises or pledges to your new family member? Remember this is your day, your way so however traditional or unconventional you want it to be, so be it!
After all the consulting, I’ll write your ceremony with as many edits as are necessary until you are completely satisfied. We can organise a rehearsal if you require. Then on the day, I’ll arrive in plenty of time to ensure the naming space is ready for action. I’ll deliver your ceremony with huge quantities of pride and honour, leaving a souvenir copy of your ceremony script.

Why choose Laura for your naming ceremony?

As mentioned previously, I was a primary school teacher for over 25 years, teaching from Reception to Year 6. Nothing makes me flap! Whatever the younger members of your guests choose to do on the day, I will have lived through before and hopefully will be able to blend into the ceremony! I am game for anything so if you want to make the whole experience completely child-centred, I’m your Celebrant.

Renewal of Vows

So, you had a teeny-weeny ‘minimony’ due to restrictions or were married abroad and couldn’t invite all your beloveds. Now a super-duper sequel wedding is just the ticket; a gathering for your whole clan to celebrate with you and be part of your wedding ceremony .
Maybe you want to say “We do, again,” because it’s been a while since your original pledges and now you want everyone to know that you feel the same but way, way deeper #couplegoals.
However flamboyant or low-key you want your second ceremony to be, I’m your Celebrant, eager to help you to celebrate in a way that is perfectly you.

Firstly, let’s get together: either face-to-face or a video consultation if that suits you better. Here we can discuss ideas for your ceremony, mulling over the ‘hows’ and ‘whats’ as well as the who will be directly involved in proceedings. I love ceremonies where all the guests play a part in the ceremony making the experience inclusive and memorable for everyone.
Next, I’ll gather essential information from you and, with permission, will contact selected close family and friends to furnish me with extra details about your romance.
I’ll use all of this to write your personalised ceremony with as many edits until you are completely satisfied.
We can arrange a rehearsal at your venue if you require one. Then on the day, I’ll arrive in plenty of time to check the wedding space is ready for action and after delivering your ceremony with honour and pride, I’ll leave you to enjoy the rest of your celebration.

Why choose Laura for your renewal of vows?

I will take the time to get to know you and your loved ones so that the ceremony I write for you is a perfect fit for you, your family and friends. Yours and yours alone, celebrating your passions, obsessions even and quirks.
Your ceremony will be my priority on your day. I never book two ceremonies on the same date: I will be all yours.

Hackness Grange wedding

5 Stars
Chris McClarty

Wedding | 10/23/2022 | Hackness Grange, Scarborough

Laura was quite simply exceptional. From the first meeting Laura was friendly and approachable. She listened to our ideas of how we wanted our special day and provided advice and thoughts on how we could realise those ideas. She is incredibly hardworking and even with our relatively short timescale, she produced a magnificent plan of the service. Laura was very open to feedback and tweaked parts as needed. On the day, Laura’s presence before the ceremony even started was a welcome one. providing words of support and reassurance to settle us.
The ceremony she provided was just perfect in every way. Well delivered with a welcome mix of emotion and laughter, keeping each guest engaged throughout.
I would highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a cheerful and wonderful celebrant.

We heard nothing but positive things about Laura’s ceremony, with people coming up to Moira and I specially to mention what a wonderful service it was. Her energy, charisma and well-planned service went down amazingly. We are incredibly happy with how things went and wouldn’t change a thing. We would recommend Laura in an instant. Lots of love, Chris and Moira.

We have booked Laura as our wedding Celebrant because we during our zoom meeting we knew within the first 5 seconds that she was right for us! We felt really connected with her. She completely got our sense of humour and after interviewing 3 other Celebrants from this site, we know she will be the best to help us celebrate our wedding.
