Hi, I'm Niamh

Congratulations to you! You are on an exciting path and I am here to make your life easier by creating the perfect ceremony for your life celebration. My name is Niamh Callery of Anu Celebrancy and I am a fun loving teller of love stories aka an independent civil celebrant, based in the sunny southeast of Wexford.I truly found my tribe when I became an IIOC qualified celebrant as this is not just a job, it’s a passion and I feel privileged to play such a pivotal role in mega moments of people’s’ lives. For weddings, vow renewals and elopements, I love meeting my couples and hearing their stories. I will try to get to know you as much as possible to make sure that I can craft and deliver a personalised ceremony that is exactly what you want but even more than you imagined it could be.

What's my ceremony style?

I love outdoor ceremonies so if you’re thinking woodlands, beaches, mountains, castle ruins, tipis, the back garden or a hot air balloon, we should definitely talk! Weddings, Handfastings, Elopements, Vow Renewals, Naming Ceremonies, Coming of Age Ceremonies

Weddings

I might be biased but I think the ceremony is the most important part of the day! It’s the reason that you have gathered your circle of people together – to witness the exchange of your special vows. The ceremony should be a true reflection of you both as a couple and it’s the perfect opportunity to springboard into your celebrations on a total high! The ceremonies that I write come from the heart after I get to know your story and your guests will be engaged with the process from start to finish. Every couple is unique. Every love story is unique. By weaving your story subtly through every ritual, your ceremony will be unique and unforgettable. I am here to support you every step of the way so that you enjoy every second and your guests will too.

As a registered solemniser with Entheos Ireland, I am able to conduct legal ceremonies both in the Republic and in Northern Ireland.
I am respectful towards all cultures and faiths and will give you the ultimate freedom over what you do with the ceremony, where you do it and when. I help you to create a bubble of love for you and your guests that continues on long after the ceremony has ended. There are options if we just think outside the box. I love to do things differently and have connected with a global network of celebrants who share new ideas for couples who want a new way for their day. If you’d like to embrace the quirky side of you, we should definitely have a chat and see where that leads us. It will be special!

Naming Ceremonies

Naming ceremonies are the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of a new person into your circle. It is a wonderful alternative to the traditional christening and can take place at your home, in your garden, the home of your parents or a hired venue of your choosing. What is important is that you are gathering together all the people who you want to have a role, however small, in shaping the future for your child. This is your chance to formally introduce your new baby by marking this universal rite of passage of celebrating their birth and making your promises to guide them in the best way that you can.

From wishing trees to time capsules, lighting candles, to water blessings and petal ceremonies, and blending different traditions there is something to suit every family and I can’t wait to help you find the perfect one. I also have an ever growing repertoire of suggested readings that can be used to include significant loved ones in the ceremony. The ceremony itself can include traditional elements, such as nominating people as ‘guide parents’, guardians. There is plenty of opportunity to really get creative in making memories to last a lifetime.

Why choose Niamh for your naming ceremony?

Just as it is with all my ceremonies, there are no set rules when it comes to this very special celebration. As well as listening to your own ideas, I will gently get to know your little family and hear the story of how you chose the name for your little one so that I can incorporate this into the ceremony and suggest symbolic rituals to suit you.

I found Niamh through a Google Search for a Spiritual Civil Ceremony (for our wedding), and found Niamh on the Celebrant Directory. Each person had to write a profile of background on who they are etc. Niamh’s profile really stood out as it was so positive, kind and bubbly. Well never a truer reflection! From the initial consultation, right through to our wedding day and afterwards Niamh was amazing! And Niamh really delivered. I didn’t know what exactly to expect but Niamh exceeded all expectations. She really got to know our story, and then told it back in a way that was even a surprise for us (as she asked us questions separately and she put it altogether). It was so so lovely and so thoughtful, she really thought of everything and we had such a beautiful ceremony. Niamh really goes above and beyond. All of our guests kept saying the same, how amazing the ceremony was. I highly recommend Niamh for any and all ceremonies you wish to have. Thanks again Niamh for making our day so magical.

Niamh was the celebrant for our wedding in June 2023. We were looking for someone warm and thoughtful, who could hold space and create an intimate and friendly atmosphere. We talked to a few different celebrants, but we were very interested when we came across Niamh’s instagram and on the Zoom call we clicked with her straight away.

She is full of wisdom and ideas, and guided us through the process – but gave us the freedom to scrap and re-create elements to our hearts content. Niamh was so happy and friendly every time we talked. She took on board any ideas we had and would come back to us having done research or finding some little known poem that she thought might work. At one point she reached out to other celebrants to ask for ideas about a particular issue we were having – she really went the extra mile.

It was especially lovely to have a member of the LGBTQ community marry us, and as two women, it was nice to have neither of us referred to as “Mr” or “husband” in any of the forms or communications.

The ceremony felt like “us”, and we got so so many lovely comments from our guests reflecting that sentiment. People were both laughing and bawling crying, and for an art gallery filled with 100 people, Niamh made it feel so intimate and warm – a true skill.

Niamh was amazing from the moment of first contact all the way through until the day of our most perfect wedding ceremony! It goes without saying that the celebrant you choose for your wedding day is an integral part of your wedding day and I am so grateful that myself and my husband found this wonderful lady! We wanted to create our own individual wedding ceremony, have it be our style, fun and free with a whole lot of love! Niamh helped us shape our ceremony to our exact style as she is brimming with knowledge and information and so happy to share this with you but never forceful about ideas, which we loved. Niamh is so warm, funny and brings a sense of calm that can help erase any jitters you may have about the ceremony and how it will run. If there are a few nerves still around on the morning of the wedding ceremony don’t fret as Niamh is once again there with some calming techniques to help you breeze into your wedding morning! I cannot express enough how amazing Niamh is as a celebrant and I would highly recommend all couples to place their trust in Niamh for their wedding day! I have never had so many messages about how wonderful our celebrant was and how much people enjoyed the ceremony because it was so personalised. Logistics wise- flawless once again. Great communication and contact and always there if needed! Niamh you made our wedding day such a joy and a laugh, we’ll be forever grateful to you for that. You’re awesome :)! Emma and Niall
