I am a qualified Civil Celebrant offering couple, family and celebration of life ceremonies.The beauty of having a celebrant led ceremony is that you can decide exactly where and when you would like to hold your ceremony. For weddings and civil partnerships, once you have the legal registration in place you have tremendous scope to realise your vision for your ceremony. You can book the venue of your dreams. As your celebrant, I will work closely with you to create something unique for your special day. My background in the theatre as a writer and director are skills that I will bring to you in writing a script and creating your ceremony with you. I enjoy collaborating with you to come up with some great ideas for your ceremony. I am always pleased to meet you for a no-obligation chat and this will give you an idea of how I work.
What's my ceremony style?
My ceremonies are developed and designed to reflect you and those special people you want to involve. With a background in theatre, I love a good story and I am experienced in creating ceremonies with clear structure and with plenty of scope to capture the essence of you and your story. My approach is well suited to creative and free spirits and I am happy to conduct ceremonies in formal or informal settings. I am as comfortable in a Manor House as I am in a field!

I will get to know you and your story and the people and things that are most important to you. This is a very special occasion that you want to mark with those people around you who you love.
If you are struggling to work your way through the vast array of music, readings, symbolic actions or rituals, I will be there to help guide you through it. I will suggest ideas to you, based on what you tell me about you would like. If you want to write your own vows, promises I will be there to support you.
Once I have gathered all the elements and people that you would like to include in your ceremony I will write you a draft script well in advance of your ceremony so we get it just right for you!.

Funerals
As a funeral celebrant my job is to work closely with a grieving family to understand as much as possible about the life of your loved person. I craft a ceremony that is a celebration of life, reflects their unique qualities, and tells their story with authenticity and respect. I talk through what you as a family can expect and am available throughout the process to answer questions and liaise with your Funeral Director.
Every funeral is different. Some people have a very clear idea of the type of celebration of life they would like, sometimes informed by the wishes of their loved one. I support the family and friends in choosing readings. I find that most families have a good idea of the music they would like.
On the day of the funeral, I will be there to conduct your ceremony with care and love and to hold the space for you.
I meet with the family and friends either in person when permitted during the pandemic or via Zoom. I listen attentively to the wishes of the family and write a draft script that reflects these. I am available and in touch throughout the lead up to the funeral.
I offer memorial ceremonies to take place at a later date following the funeral.

Accuracy is very important and I ensure that I write a ceremony which captures the idiosyncrasies of the person and recalls favourite sayings and stories. I support the members of the family and friends who wish to take an active part. As a professional writer I craft the tribute that is full of love, and includes the elements that have real meaning for you.

From the first video call all the way to the wedding ceremony, Carole has simply been amazing throughout.
She has been a great help guiding us towards our personalised ceremony which was our story.
Carole has great energy and is very easy to talk to. Very professional and fantastic communication, and very opened minded including some parts of the ceremony being in French.
She made us feel like we were her only project and we had her full focus.
Highly recommended!

I have recently laid my lovely sister to rest. Carole the celebrant was assigned to helping us and I and the family were so grateful for all her help, kind words and advice.
Carole was there every step of the way and guided me through the whole details of what we were to expect.
Carole was warm, kind and such an amazing help in our time if grief and when I met her in person on the day of the funeral she immediately put me at ease, held my hand. The service was lovely and we could hear every word she said clearly and precisely.
Carole was certainly with us all the way and made it clear that she was there for not just myself but family and friends too. At the end of the service Carole gave me a hug which was appreciated. She also took the trouble to write out the draft script so I always can remember my sisters funeral to the letter.
I would highly recommend Carole and would not hesitate to contact her again if the need arose.

We cannot thank Carole enough for our amazing day. Hearing her at our wedding made two of our friends decide to have their vows renewed. Guests told us that they had never enjoyed a service so much.
She made sure that it was unique, personal, sentimental and fun. She took such care to ensure it was tailored to us that it felt as though she’d known us years.
Little touches like certificates for the children involved were the icing on the cake. She genuinely cares that your day is a special as she can make it.
