Hi, I'm Lesley

Our lives have many significant milestones and it is important that we celebrate each event.  Making you feel special is my aim whether a happy occasion or a sad one.   I am fun loving and easy to work with but with a compassionate side too.  Plenty of laughter, perhaps a few loving tears and always that extra special factor.    I should love to write your bespoke ceremony which reflects your personalities for your wedding or vow renewal.  I have a vast experience when doing funerals too encompassing religious, humanist or a mixture of both.   Each ceremony be it a wedding, a funeral, a renewal of vows or a naming ceremony is unique.  I have been a Celebrant for six years and conducted over five hundred funerals and weddings in castles, hotels, farms and on the beach on exotic islands.  Every service is uniquely written.

What's my ceremony style?

With a Celebrant led ceremony there are no rules, no time slots, no limitations – think “outside the box”.   I write traditional but modern, heart-warming beautiful individually orchestrated ceremonies to suit all couples in a sophisticated surrounding such as a castle or more casual in a converted barn or in your garden.  There may be laughter and there may be tears and surprises.  Your guests or your loved ones will remember the day for that personal touch, that little known detail and for the love that shines through.  Wherever you would like to pledge your love to your partner I can help weave your story “orchestrated to perfection to be remembered forever”.   Your funeral or Celebration of Life will leave a lasting memory in those left behind, giving closure and comfort and you will have peace.

Why choose Lesley?

I am a good listener. I have three sons, a daughter, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren who keep me young.  An exiled Scot, I live in rural Kent, enjoying country life.  I sing in a Choir and am a member of Rotary.    I love chocolate cake and ice-cream.  You may want the traditional style ceremony but not in Church, encompassing one another’s wishes – Humanist or religious or a mixture of both.  Spending time with you I find out what will make your ceremony truly meaningful.   That bespoke ceremony takes time to plan and write.  it is worth all the effort.

What do I offer?

Weddings

With a Celebrant led ceremony there are no rules, no time slots, no limitations – think “outside the box”.   You are traditional but don’t want the constraints of a Church or Registry Office. You will want to add your own touches and write your own vows.  I offer individually orchestrated ceremonies to suit all couples in a sophisticated surrounding such as a castle or somewhere more casual in a converted barn or in your garden with perhaps a hand-fasting, a sand ceremony or, being Scottish, a Quaich ceremony with the bride and groom drinking whiskey (or whatever your tipple) out of the love cup.  You may want to tell your story on a beach at midnight, in your own back garden or up a ski slope with the guests teetering on slippery slopes.  Wherever you would like to pledge your love to your partner I can help weave your story.

Making you feel special – that is my aim.  Traditional and not quirky but with a modern touch.  I am fun loving, easy to work with and I will listen to your story of your love affair and together we will weave a ceremony which reflects your personalities and the life you lead.  I will meet with you and learn all about you, your hopes, your desires and your dreams.  I will write a ceremony, incorporating readings and poetry.  You may want family and friends included and we can include many of the above symbolic elements.  There will be laughter and there will be tears of joy but your guests will go away remembering the day for a very long time.

arms and on the beach on exotic islands. Our lives have many significant milestones and it is important that we celebrate each event. It could be a wedding celebration, a vow renewal, a naming ceremony welcoming a new addition or saying goodbye to a loved one I would love to help you make it perfect.

I am passionate about writing and open to all beliefs and including religious or spiritual aspects into the ceremony. I have had knocks in life and come out the other side making me stronger and appreciate others and their feelings and hopes. At a time of loss I can guide them through the dark days helping them to say goodbye to a loved one with dignity and love.

Why choose Lesley for your wedding?

I want to make your day the most special day of your life – a real day to remember.  I will craft a ceremony personally for you including all the elements you choose.  I will meet with you and correspond with you until every last detail is perfect, keeping you up to date at every point.  I arrive early on the day and liaise with everyone, calm those last-minute nerves, work with the photographer and the musicians and put everyone at ease.  I will then deliver a ceremony your guests will be talking of for years to come.

Naming Ceremony

Naming Ceremonies

Every event in life should be marked.  You don’t want a Christening but you want to celebrate your baby or child or maybe you want to acknowledge an adoption.  A Naming Ceremony is what you would like.  Let’s get together and plan it.  Maybe you have older children so let’s include them.  We can have a sand ceremony or a candle ceremony.

Why should a client choose you?

I listen and I will write a ceremony which your family and friends will remember for a long time.  It will be unique and full of fun and laughter.  I have a large family and five grandchildren and I am a fun Granny and love spending time with my grandchildren.

Renewal of Vows

Making you feel special – that is my aim. I am fun loving and easy to work with. Plenty of laughter, perhaps a few loving tears and always that wow factor. Feed me with chocolate cake, ice cream and good coffee and our friendship is cemented. I would love to write your bespoke ceremony which reflects your personalities.

I have three sons, a daughter, two daughters -in-law and four grandchildren who keep me young.. I live in a village getting involved with village life, feeding the hens and walking the dogs at home and I sing in the Church Choir and look resplendent in my gown! I am also a member of the local Rotary Club and am active in the community and local Charities. Like all Celebrants I am passionate about my vocation (it is not a job) and each ceremony be it a wedding, a funeral, a renewal of vows or a naming ceremony is unique.

Why choose Lesley for your renewal of vows?

The thing I am good at is listening! You may want the traditional style ceremony or one with a more humanist leaning or a mixture of both, including your individual cultures. I will talk to you and find out what will make your wedding day truly meaningful for you. Perhaps you would like to involve your families.

That bespoke ceremony takes time to plan and write but it is worth all the effort and that is what I do best. Your day will be absolutely perfect for you and your guests.

Funerals

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things we have to do.  Let me help you.  I have conducted over five hundred funerals and celebrations of life.  As a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants I am comfortable with all services, humanist, religious, spiritual and have conducted services for many cultures.  You may want a hymn and a prayer too.  I will meet with you and your family and hear all about your loved one.  We will choose the music, poetry and craft the tribute.  It may by a family member who wants to deliver the eulogy and I can offer guidance and a helping hand on the day of the service.  With dignity we will say goodbye whilst celebrating the life of your loved one.

Why choose Lesley for your funeral?

I listen and I write a unique service just for your loved one.  There will be tears and there may be laughter and you as a family will find closure knowing that the final task you have done for your loved one was perfect.  I have had many knocks in life and come through stronger and can empathise with you.  I have conducted services for people who have lived a full and long life, services for tragic circumstances, death from terminal illness and services for children and babies taken long before their time.  I will help you every step of the way.

I just wanted to thank you so much for the fantastic send off for Mum on 12th August. We all thought you spoke in an informal way, a little humour with all the formal bits said brilliantly. Thank you it really was everything Mum asked for!

On behalf of my family I would like to say thanks for the beautiful service for my dearly missed Dad. On a very difficult day you not only made having to speak much easier for me but you also managed to capture the essence of our father very well and put things into words in a very poignant way. Thanks for helping us celebrate his life and all the best for your future.
