Hi, I'm Samantha
After graduating from Catering College way back in the 80’s, I soon realised it wasn’t for me; I enjoyed the social side of the silver service rather than the cooking!
I got my first job in Administration and that was it, my future career was born! I have continued in customer focused, event planning roles for the last 30 years. Whilst attending many weddings, Christenings and funerals over the years, I began to notice that churches or registry offices (like when I got hitched 34 years ago or when we had our boys Christened 30 years ago!) was not the only choice available and that over the years things had shifted to a more modern and less ‘stuffy’ conduction of ceremonies.
It was one particular Civil Ceremony that I attended made me have a light bulb moment-and so my journey to become a Celebrant started!

Weddings
My ideal couple would be two people who genuinely complement each other, embracing both their similarities and differences. They’d communicate openly, support each other’s goals, and bring out the best in one another. A mix of warmth, humour, and mutual respect would define their relationship.
Picture a ceremony in a lush garden or by a serene lake, with close friends and family gathered around. The atmosphere would be relaxed yet elegant, with personal touches that reflect the couple’s story—perhaps handwritten vows, live acoustic music, and a meaningful ritual like a handfasting or a unity ceremony involving candles or sand. The focus would be on the love and connection between the couple rather than the extravagance of the event.
Together, we will develop a tailor-made service that shares your story and reflects your personalities, incorporating unique, personal elements. We can include family traditions, cultural acknowledgments, or anything meaningful to you. Your ceremony can take place anywhere you choose: a manor house, castle, hotel, festival site, family home, pub, boat, woodland, or beach. I’m completely flexible, only committing to one ceremony a day. I also officiate at licensed venues and love discovering new hidden gems!

Naming Ceremonies
I’d like to work with families, couples, and individuals who seek a meaningful way to celebrate significant life events outside the bounds of traditional religious ceremonies. This could include:
New Parents: Families looking to celebrate the arrival of a child in a way that reflects their values, whether they are secular, spiritual, or simply want something more personal than a traditional christening.
LGBTQ+ Families: Couples who want a ceremony that fully embraces their family structure and celebrates their journey in a way that resonates with their identity.
Individuals Changing Their Name: People who are undergoing a name change—whether due to gender transition, personal choice, or cultural reasons—and want to mark this important milestone with a meaningful ceremony.
Adoption and Family Union ceremonies- welcoming a child into your larger family after an adoption has taken place.
Together we could light a personalized candle or blow bubbles, which can be fun for children. Another idea is a time capsule, where everyone places a special memento inside to be opened on your child’s 18th birthday. They might be celebrating a milestone anniversary, like 25 or 50 years, and are still as in love as they were when they first met. They value the importance of commitment, the joy of shared memories, and the excitement of continuing their journey together.
My favourite type of ceremony would be an intimate, nature-inspired gathering, perhaps in a beautiful garden or by the sea. The ceremony would be personal, with heartfelt vows that reflect the couple’s shared history and future dreams. It might include elements like a handfasting ritual, where the couple’s hands are tied together with a ribbon to symbolize their bond, or a unity ceremony, such as planting a tree together to represent the continued growth of their love. Sam was the perfect host!
We had the most fantastic day celebrating our cousin’s naming ceremony; all so brilliantly co-ordinated by the lovely Sam. From start to finish she was an absolute pleasure, nothing was too much trouble and the ceremony was faultless! She really captured everything we wanted perfectly, we couldn’t have chosen a better celebrant. Would highly recommend for any style of ceremony!
