What's my ceremony style?
As a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I am a ceremonial facilitator and ritual creator, trained in the art of rituals & ceremonies for people of all backgrounds, traditions, cultures and beliefs. I put at your service all I have learned and keep learning in my ongoing research of ceremonial components, sources of traditional and contemporary ceremonies, world traditions and symbolism, as well as my experience in scenography, choreography and public speaking.
All my ceremonies are custom made, in substance and in form. As I get a deeper understanding of your vision and unique personality, it will help to establish what you want to achieve and closely align with your personal values and tastes, appropriate traditions, etc. That is my gift as a ceremonial officiant and writer: knowing how to capture what is at the heart of your love story and relationship to convey the essence of who you are.

Why choose Karine?
A testimonial will tell more about me and my work as a Celebrant than I ever could:
“It was important to us that our ceremony was bi-lingual. Karine was excellent and made the whole ceremony so special for us. The ceremony was in French and English with both of us saying vows / readings in both languages; the guests really appreciated it being in both languages and Karine spoke in both languages fluently throughout. She was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect for us; she was extremely approachable and we had no hesitation in asking her questions or making suggestions. Karine was very open to ideas and really listened to what we wanted and the type of ceremony that we hoped for. Karine was always available on Skype and the only time we met her was on the day of the ceremony. She was very precise and wanted everything to be perfect. We hignly recommend her. E&D

Your wedding should reflect your personality and your own vision.
We will start by taking the time to get to know each other and discussing your vision for your ceremony. As I listen to you, I get a deeper understanding of you as a couple and individuals. This helps to formalize your expectations, possibly your concerns. For that purpose, I use your input—through our exchanges and in particular a questionnaire I work with.
Then, I will craft the ceremony around what YOU want, your beliefs and values, what marriage means to you, your plans for the future, how you would like your commitment to each other to be expressed, etc. To refine and finalize the ceremony’s content, you will of course receive copies to amend and see if I’ve addressed all the aspects you want to include.
In the end, in composing the ceremony of your choice, you get to treat yourself with a heartfelt and memorable moment.

Renewal of Vows
Celebrants offer an alternative to the traditional ceremonies of birth, marriage and death.
Whether we are religious or not, practicing or not, a traditional, divorced or same-sex couple, a traditional or blended family, or a family of mixed race or faith… we all go through periods of change and transitions, the joys and trials that punctuate the cycle of our lives. Now, according to Paule Lebrun, author and founder of the school Ho Rites, “Ritual work opens the door of the human soul by creating a particular sense around the significant passages of our lives.” Thus, one of my main motivations in becoming celebrant was to meet the increasing request of individuals, couples, and families to affirm life’s milestones and transitions through non-religious and yet dignified and meaningful ceremonies, in substance and in form.
A graduate since 2010 of the renewed American Celebrant Foundation & Institute, I take the personalized and intimate approach at the heart of the Celebrant’s philosophy, performing and co-creating customized, thoughtful celebrations and rituals for people of all backgrounds, traditions, cultures and faiths.
Furthermore, I help clients create a safe and ceremonial space that enables everyone to celebrate with meaning and significance. It seems to me that here is what the beauty of a ceremony is all about: to give us the opportunity as a community to honor the fullness of the human experience across the lifecycle — may it be in joy or sorrow — and thus come together in a solemn moment of sharing. Participating in an authentic and significant ceremony creates an opening, an emotional complicity, and when family and friends gather mindfully as witnesses, it creates a real sense of connection and belonging that no one forgets.
As a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I am a ceremonial facilitator and ritual creator, trained in the art of ritual, ceremony, world and faith traditions, ceremonial writing, and public speaking and presentation. I specialize in bilingual and inter-cultural ceremonies (two languages, two cultures, two families that sometimes have never met).
