Alternative Ceremonies, Symbolic Actions
Celebrant Collective, National Association of Funeral Directors (Supplier)
Hi, I'm Dawn
Hello there! A professional celebrant since 2017, I trained in celebrancy as I wished to offer others the kind of truly bespoke, personalised ceremony that I had longed for myself – a celebration or service that was meaningful, memorable, and moving. It’s not just about a beautifully delivered ceremony though – it’s also the connection you build with your celebrant, and the assurance that they ‘get’ you, and can translate your ideas into the perfect ceremony.
Whichever ceremony type you’re seeking a celebrant for – a couples celebration (wedding, partnership, commitment ceremony, renewal of vows), family celebration (naming/welcoming ceremony, birthdays, anniversaries), or funeral/memorial – I promise you’ll be in safe and experienced hands.
I’m based in Cleethorpes, and cover a 40 mile radius for funerals.
For couples and family celebrations, I serve Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties – do enquire if you’d like me to travel further UK-wide for your special ceremony.
What's my ceremony style?
I’m passionate about bespoke ceremonies – each should be as unique as the individual it’s for, and reflect their personality – or personalities. Symbolic acts help us connect with, and make sense of our emotions too – whether joy or grief. If this appeals to you, there are so many rituals I can guide you through to incorporate in your ceremony, or I can create one with especial significance for you.
I’ll be delighted to turn your thoughts and wishes into the ceremony that’s right for you – whether that is intimate or grand, and traditional or off-beat – at the place that feels right, whether a venue, woodland, beach or barn.
If you’re interested in something a little alternative – perfect! Alternative subculture and lifestyle ceremonies – goth, rock, biker, burlesque, steampunk, LGBTQI+ – are my dream bookings! Want to make attending a festival super special with a ceremony? Let’s talk!
Why choose Dawn?
There’s only one chance to get a ceremony right, and it’s so important to choose a celebrant who understands your ideas, and who you can trust to deliver the perfect ceremony you envision.
Many clients come to me through word of mouth. Maybe you’d like to take a look at the reviews on the website, Facebook page, and Google, to get a sense of what I may offer to you too.
Better still, if you’d like advice or to chat about your perfect ceremony, there’s no obligation, so get in touch.
What do I offer?
Whether your vision is for something traditional, elegant and heartfelt, or a fun and funky themed celebration, I’ll tailor the wedding celebration perfectly for you. I adore creating uniquely personal ceremonies to reflect the personalities of each couple – so, what’s your dream ceremony like?
The only limit is imagination; you really can have your ceremony, your way. There are no restrictions on ceremony content or the time or place with a celebrant, and you’ll have a truly personalised celebration.
If you’re not married, and wish to affirm your relationship, then a commitment ceremony would be the one for you.
Classic venue, or your favourite setting – beach, woodland, or a barn? All are wonderful!
Alternative and lifestyle ceremonies are my favourites – are you goth, rock, biker, punk, steampunk, burlesque, pin-up, rockabilly, LGBTQI+? Fabulous! Let’s talk!
Weddings packages are banded Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum according to whether peak or off-peak season, and the day of the week. Why choose Dawn for your wedding?
I’m creative and conscientious – I want you to have fun while planning your special ceremony, and know it will all come together beautifully on the day.
I hold the NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Namings and Couples – it’s the only recognised vocational qualification for wedding celebrants in the UK, so you know you’re in capable hands – while you join yours with your partner!
Whether you would like to welcome a new baby or a child into the family, I’d be pleased to help you.
I’m also happy to create naming celebrations for people who have transitioned and wish to affirm and celebrate their new identity.
Naming and welcoming ceremonies are banded Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum according to the day and time they are held. There’s no extra charge for peak season. If you’re flexible and working to a budget, let me know, and I’ll advise you of when to book and save, while receiving the same high quality of service and attention.
Fees include a meeting with you, support and guidance through ceremony content (poems, readings, music, symbolic acts and rituals, help with crafting promises to the child, and liaising with any supporting adults/guide parents/godparents), draft ceremony for approval (if required), officiation on the day, a keepsake souvenir script, and a commemorative certificate if you’d like one.
Why choose Dawn for your naming ceremony?
I’m caring and conscientious, and can guide and support you through your choices for your naming ceremony.
The welcoming of children into a blended family, or for adoption, can be celebrated too, as can young people or adults who are choosing to take a new identity and name.
Parents, grandparents, and guide parents may all play a role in the ceremony to make it extra special.
If you’re getting married and have children, why not have a combined wedding and welcoming celebration?
Renewal of Vows
Whether you’ve been together as a couple for one year or fifty, that’s a super reason to celebrate!
It’s a wonderful chance to reflect on your journey to the present day as a couple, and your dreams for the future together.
It’s not just for married couples or those in a civil partnership; any couple can celebrate their love, and in the way they choose!
A structured, simple vow renewal or a big party with all family and friends – when, where, how – it’s your choice. Maybe you’d like to re-dedicate your rings, or have a blessing?
As with weddings packages are banded Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum according to whether peak or off-peak season, and the day of the week, although vows fees are lower.
Fees include a meeting (or video meeting and calls if you prefer or are at long-distance), support and guidance through ceremony content (poems, readings, music, symbolic acts and rituals, vow/promises writing), draft ceremony for approval, officiation on the day, a keepsake souvenir script, and commemorative certificate if you’d like one.
Travel within 40 miles of Cleethorpes is included; beyond this standard mileage is charged.
Optional extras are additional meetings and a rehearsal, and further keepsake packs or certificates if desired. For long-distance ceremonies across the UK overnight stays/subsistence are invoiced at cost.
A deposit of £150 will securely book in the diary your fabulous celebration of vows!

Celebration of life.
Dawn led the celebration of life for my mother, doing a wonderful job of balancing a dignified service with a reflection of a life well lived; sad but not mournful.
I had contact with Dawn several times before the event and she was always very professional and kind.
I would recommend Dawns as a Celebrant
