Hi, I'm Trevor
Harmonious Ceremonies is all about celebrating life in the past, present, and future. I work in harmony with families to create bespoke ceremonies that are deeply personal, and feel exactly right for them. Everyone is unique, and I take great care to reflect that.
Ceremonies bring people together on the most important occasions, whether it is to celebrate the joy of marriage, or the cherished memories of a loved one’s life. You have the freedom to choose how you want the day to be.
It could be a wedding in the woods, on the beach, or in your Nan’s back garden, with an intimate, serene ceremony, or something more flamboyant. We can be as creative as you wish.
When saying goodbye to a loved one, whether at a local crematorium, or natural burial site, the focus is on celebrating the life lived, with a full, rich ceremony, where the family has a voice.
What's my ceremony style?
My style has been described as warm and engaging. I enjoy the creative process of working with people to perform ceremonies ranging from the formal, to the unconventional, but always with a human touch. I love the outdoors, so I am very comfortable if it’s a hillside wedding, or a woodland burial. If you’re planning a festival marriage, definitely get in touch!
I enjoy creating ceremonies that have a sense of fun, and I love to see people smile, but also gain great satisfaction from the more reserved ones too. Whatever the occasion, it is always sincere and heartfelt.

Why choose Trevor?
I am an experienced celebrant – just new to the Celebrant Directory!
In my spare time, I am passionate about music, play in local bands, and organise music events, supporting new performers in gaining confidence, building rapport and trust. Having also worked in technology, education, and the creative arts, my attention to detail and planning skills are well established.
In addition to my experience in writing and public speaking, I am a professionally trained and accredited celebrant.
I am very personable, and enjoy meeting people. I get a great deal of satisfaction working with couples and families to create ceremonies, and I take pride in making the day special for them.
What do I offer?

Weddings
First of all, congratulations on your engagement, and the great fortune of having met that special someone to share your life with.
It is always a joy to meet couples, hear their stories, hopes, and dreams for the future. Your wedding day should be a celebration of who you are, in the style that you wish.
Together, we have the freedom to create a wedding that can be flamboyant, and full of laughter, or more intimate and romantic, but always heartfelt and loving.
It is such an enjoyable and exciting process, from our first meeting, talking about your initial ideas, which evolve, and gain shape. We can incorporate so many elements, from poems, music, guest speakers, symbolic gestures such as handfasting, wineblending, ring warming, and even tea making (with biscuit dunking vows no less). The latter one was an absolute joy, with everyone laughing and smiling, whilst also deeply loving.
I can help you create your own vows and pledges, which you can write together, or separately if your want them to be a secret until the big day.
From the first time we meet, to the ceremony on the day, I will provide guidance and support to ensure you are relaxed, and free to enjoy every moment.
From one couple: “Yesterday was just perfect, even more than I imagined. I genuinely felt you were cheering myself and Rhys on and felt happy for our union.
My family also thought it was so lovely and magical.”

Funerals
A funeral is not only about saying farewell, but should celebrate the life lived. People live on through the memories they leave behind, the relationships they had with family and friends, their personality, and passions.
I spend as much time with the family as needed to build a rich picture of their loved one, as seen through their eyes. The ceremony will be a celebration of who they were, telling their story, recalling anecdotes, achievements, and precious moments. We can share stories that bring smiles and laughter, or be reflective and thoughtful. It should be how you wish to honour their memory.
As a non-religious ceremony, we are free to include any music, poems, readings, and tributes you choose. I will be there to guide you through every aspect, and feel it is important that the family feel they have a ‘voice’, where they can read their own words, or ask me to read them on their behalf. Every script is bespoke, and shared with the family to approve beforehand to ensure that it is exactly right for them.
Whether the funeral is at a crematorium, natural burial ground, or another location, the ceremony will be designed to be an apt and meaningful way.
A lovely card from a family stated: (Thank you so much) …. for all that you did and the way that you did it…”
It meant a lot to me.

Irene Smalley’s Funeral
Trevor helped me and the family to prepare a fitting tribute to Irene. He was a very empathetic listener when we were discussing aspects of Irene’s life and gave a memorable service on the day of the funeral.
I’m sure that Trevor will also be able to help anyone prepare for what is a very sad occasion.
Thank you Trevor
Feedback for Trevor
Trevor collated a great deal of little bits of information about by father, and produced a wonderful, thoughtful, realistic and humorous account of my father’s life. I enjoyed working with him: he made it feel like a collaboration, but the work was all his! Trevor is patient and very personable and very generous with his time. On the day of the ceremony, he was a quiet but authoritative presence, and we were very grateful to have him there, coordinating and holding everything together. He has produced a lovely document of the ceremony, including our tributes and our personal words, which we can refer to in years to come. Very grateful to you Trevor, thank you.
