So you want to get married in France? How fabulous!
I am an experienced professional Independent celebrant living in the beautiful south of France. I create and deliver high quality uniquely personal wedding ceremonies that celebrate YOUR love story. I officiate wedding ceremonies at some of the most spectacular Chateau venues in France.
I trained as a celebrant in the UK and my approach to my celebrant work is very much client led. The ceremonies I create are about you, not me! It is you who influences the content and I am very much open to including any element that you wish and I’m always on hand to offer inspiration and ideas for you both to consider.
Whether your wedding venue is a Chateau, a rustic French farmhouse or perhaps an intimate gathering in the garden, your bespoke ceremony will also be created to suit your wishes.

I deliver high quality ceremonies full of fun with celebratory laughter yet an equal balance of the solemnity & gravitas a wedding ceremony requires.
The moment you both make your declarations of love in front of your friends and family is one of the most important moments of your life, so you can be confident knowing that you will have someone you can trust to deliver your ceremony with skill, warmth and heaps of love filled laughter!
I also offer bi-lingual ceremonies for those couples whose union transcends nationalities.
The style, contents and ‘vibe’ of the ceremony are very much led by you – after all it’s YOUR ceremony! As I get to know you both and discover your love story, I tailor your ceremony to match your wishes/visions – which is why no two weddings of mine are ever the same.

You may know exactly what you want for your ceremony, you may not have a clue or you may be somewhere in between! I can offer creative ideas and inspiration, if needed. Through our laughter filled meetings, the ceremony takes shape as I compose a ceremony as unique as your Love Story.

What do I offer?
Weddings
Choosing the right celebrant for you is an important decision. After all, it is the celebrant who officiates the union of your love.
As I build your ceremony we will talk through the variety of elements you could include in your ceremony, whether traditional or something more modern and unique. The exchange of rings (or bracelets…there are no rules!), music, readings/poems, spoken vows of commitment, certificate signing, symbolic rituals such as hand fastening, wine or sand ceremonies, the list is endless and I look forward to sharing them with you.
Anything can be included, Don’t forget there are no rules!
Through our usually laughter filled meetings the ceremony takes shape and you will receive the written ceremony in advance for your approval.
I encourage all couples to book a free discovery call with me to ensure that you are happy that I fit for you both.
We’ll meet on video call and have a good chat, I can tell you how I work to create your unique ceremony, I can answer all your questions and discuss prices, after which you will be able to make an informed decision.
After this initial meeting the fun really starts as I get to work composing your bespoke ceremony. We will create a Whatsapp group so that you have unlimited contact with me, always here to answer your questions or provide inspiration and ideas. After the ceremony you will receive a parchment copy of your ceremony, your vows and your certificate of commitment.

The most wonderful thing about creating wedding ceremonies are the variety of Love Stories that my couples come to me with.
It’s wonderful to discover the journey you have been on as a couple. The silly times you have shared, the emotional times, the times you have strengthened each other and of course the times you could have throttled each other! These are your stories.
We will develop our relationship on regular video calls and our private Whatsapp group, through which I discover your love story and your wishes for the ceremony and I sprinkle them onto the page to form your very personal wedding ceremony.

Funerals
Saying goodbye to a loved one is always difficult. Whether sudden or forseen the impact of loss and the waves of grief can be overwhelming. Often this is made harder by the additional need to navigate French regulations and procedures.
As an experienced professional English Funeral Celebrant living in France, I’m here to ease the process for you.
We will meet and discuss your wishes for the ceremony. Listening to you, I create and deliver a unique ceremony whilst also supporting you as an additional link with the Funeral Directors and Crematorium staff, so that your are comforted throughout the process and nothing is ‘lost in translation’.
Funeral ceremonies in France are traditionally very different from the UK but don’t let that constrain you from having the service you desire for your loved one. I can guide you through what to expect and offer you the choices available to you.
Many crematoria in France do not have the facilities to live stream ceremonies, so I now offer this service to the families I work with. The ceremony can be broadcast online so that your friends and family abroad can watch the funeral service and, crucially, feel part of the proceedings.

‘Best decision I ever made’
Mark was recommended to me by the Funeral Directors, Monsegur as an English Speaking Celebrant who could help me with the cremation service of my husband. I cannot recommend Mark highly enough. Originally I had intended to speak at the short service but when I spoke to the funeral director, I was persuaded it would be better to use Mark’s services as a secular Celebrant. Best decision I ever made. He visited me at home and spoke a length about my husband and his life and apart from my choosing 3 pieces of music and vetting the words of the eulogy, Mark took everything in hand and liaised with the Funeral directors. This was absolutely brilliant as sometimes, probably due to grief, my french language skills almost disappeared. Mark was considerate, kind and very professional – in fact I could not have made the arrangements and outcome without his skills. Everything ran smoothly and he orchestrated the service better than could be expected.
