Hi, I'm Matthew
A very warm welcome to my page here on The Celebrant Directory.
My name is Matthew Couchman, I’m an Independent Celebrant and actor from Gillingham, Kent.
The moment I knew that I wanted to be a Celebrant was something of an epiphany moment for me. After experiencing disappointment and frustration in the lead up to my own wedding I knew that I could not only do better but provide a more personable service.
I completed my Celebrant training with the International College of Professional Celebrants. I believe that having two strands of training have brought a specific and helpful skillset to my craft, so be it speaking to a crowd, writing an exciting ceremony or delivering a heartfelt eulogy. You can be sure that my words will have gravitas, depth and texture, enabling you to relax in the knowledge that your ceremony is in safe hands.
What's my ceremony style?
As no two Ceremonies are ever the same and nor should they be, it is really important for me to communicate your story with the accuracy and love it deserves. I am open to ideas that will help make your ceremony memorable and it is my absolute privilege in creating and conducting your unique family ceremony, whatever the occasion.
So be it a wedding, funeral, renewal of vows or other creative ceremony for couples or families seeking their own truly bespoke special day, I will be there to fully assist. I will be honoured to write and deliver funerals, celebration of life ceremonies and memorial ceremonies capturing the life of your loved one and, as in the case with funerals, bring the right level of compassion and warmth whilst telling the personal and unique story of your loved one.
