Hello, I’m a journalist and qualified independent celebrant. I’ve gone from news stories to love stories!.
I understand the power of words and the impact of a good story, well told. I believe every ceremony, whether it’s a vow renewal, wedding, or baby naming ceremony, has to capture the very essence of the people involved.
Having me to write, deliver and choreograph your ceremony means you can have it exactly how you picture it. Alpacas as ring bearers? not a problem, tequila shots to end? why not. If you’re stuck for inspiration and ideas, I have plenty.
The important thing is getting to know you, and your story, and weaving that into a ceremony that you’re happy with. If it’s not exactly how you imagined it sounding, we can make as many changes as you like. There are no hard and fast rules with a celebrant led ceremony, it can be as relaxed and intimate, or as jolly and rousing as you want it to be.
I’m happy to have a face to face, no obligation, chat about your plans, before you make up your mind. You need to trust the person enabling you to celebrate one of lifes milestones, and being a celebrant is a privilege.
I live in Quorn, Leicestershire, and am willing to travel to Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Rutland.
I’m a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants, and trained with the Ofsted “outstanding” accredited Civil Ceremonies Ltd.
What's my ceremony style?
I can conduct wedding and civil partnership ceremonies, once the legal bit has been completed. I also offer baby/child naming ceremonies, vow renewals and commitment ceremonies. The style of ceremony depends on you. You may be drawn to traditional rituals like hand fasting or ‘jumping the broom’ , or you may prefer something more contemporary like a wishing tree or ring warming.
Ceremonies that are inclusive and involve family and guests can make it really special and something everyone will remember. Readings, poetry and music are all powerful ways of declaring love and commitment.

Highlight of the wedding day!
We couldn’t recommend Jane enough for the thought and effort that went into creating a beautiful ceremony for our wedding. It was so lovely when we initially met her, she discussed a variety of ways we could celebrate our marriage in the service. She got us very well as a couple and new what style we wanted.
Jane was happy to edit any parts we suggested and also added in some surprises where she asked us and our made of honour and best woman some questions which was very fun! She was very sensitive to include loved ones we had lost in the service which we were grateful for as well. Everyone after the ceremony said what a brilliant service she did and really enjoyed the personalised words she had put together. Thank you Jane for capturing our love story so beautifully you are a talented writer and lovely person!
Wedding ceremony
We can’t recommend Jane highly enough! Jane delivered the most perfect wedding ceremony for us, such beautiful, meaningful, perfect words. She made us both feel so at ease throughout the whole experience and took the time to get to know us. Just wish we could do it all again!

We absolutely loved your presentation style and on the run up to the day we appreciated you meeting up with us in person and keeping us in the loop throughout.
