Hello, I’m Onie…I offer beautiful, relaxed, inclusive ceremonies for any event significant to you and your family. I believe in creating ceremonies that are centred around the wishes and values of the family involved. This enables you to create a personal, unique ceremony with you, your personalities, your stories at the heart. A ceremony that reflects your own beliefs, whether that incorporates religious and spiritual beliefs or entirely non-religious/secular ethos. An Agnostic Scotland ceremony is inclusive and open-minded. Ceremonies can be funny-sweet, deeply meaningful, make-you-weep-while-you-laugh hilarious, heart-achingly poignant, timeless and grand, sincere and serious, gentle and thoughtful. They can be traditional, unconventional, grand, or intimate. Every element of your ceremony is your choice. I am based in the Scottish Highlands and cover these areas: Wester Ross, Inverness-shire, the Cairngorms, Aviemore area, Assynt and Coigach. I can conduct legal Wedding Ceremonies. All locations are covered from grand hotels to mountain tops. All love is celebrated!
What's my ceremony style?
I’m pretty relaxed in most settings and love meeting new people. Clients describe me as calm, thoughtful, warm, grounded, joyful, sincere, friendly, insightful and light-hearted. I’ve been a celebrant since 2012, and absolutely love it.
My role to transform your wishes into reality. You might have some ideas about the kind of ceremony you would like but perhaps aren’t sure about the content and flow. It is my pleasure, through our discussions and time together, to help bring your ideas together into a beautiful ceremony. On the day itself, I dedicate the whole day to your ceremony so can lead wedding hikes, or ceremonies in different locations, or be there before and after your ceremony to help ensure the fluidity of your day.
Wherever and whatever you choose, it is my great delight to help you create a ceremony that is all you wished it to be.

Why choose Onie?
I really invest in the couples I work with and take the time to get to know you. I pour my heart into every ceremony I create to ensure each one is exactly as you wish it to be. Over a period of weeks or months, I collaborate with you to write a completely unique, personal ceremony for you. For every couple, I plant a tree as part of a Scottish rewilding project. A percentage of my fee goes towards our Sustainability Fund to support our wider community work. I only hold one ceremony per day so my day is yours.

Hello, I’m Onie … I am a Marriage Celebrant offering beautiful, relaxed, inclusive Marriage ceremonies, Vow Renewals and Commitment ceremonies in the Scottish Highlands and other areas. All love is celebrated and all locations are welcome; from grand hotels to mountain tops.
I believe in creating ceremonies that are centred around the wishes and values of the family involved. This enables you to create a unique ceremony with your story at the heart, one that reflects your own beliefs, whether that incorporates religious and spiritual beliefs or non-religious/secular ethos.
An Agnostic Scotland ceremony is inclusive and open-minded. I really invest in the families I work with and take the time to get to know you. My wish is always to create a distinctly unique and beautiful ceremony for you that is all you had wished it to be.
Through Agnostic Scotland, I can conduct legal Wedding Ceremonies.
Your Wedding Ceremony will celebrate you as a couple. From the telling of your story to the exchange of vows, from the inclusion of rituals to the declaration of commitment, your ceremony will joyfully reflect your own unique personalities and your journey so far.
You might wish to get married on a mountain, or in a woodland under the stars, or in an historic castle, or in your own garden.Wherever you choose, you can make your ceremony your own.

Over a period of several weeks or months, I collaborate with you and write a unique ceremony for you. I pour my heart into every ceremony so it is exactly as you wish it to be.
I plant a tree for every couple, provide vow scrolls if you wish to include them and donate a percentage of my fee to our Sustainability Fund to support our community work.
Naming Ceremonies
Naming and Family Ceremonies are pure joy… reflecting the character of the small but mighty people involved. Planning a ceremony to honour the arrival of your baby, or to celebrate the completion of your family, is such a personal and individual process.
Together, I can work with you to create a beautiful ceremony that reflects your own unique blend of beliefs, values and wishes. One that adopts the tone you are seeking, and includes the symbolic elements or rituals that make sense to you and your family.
It is my role to help you lovingly craft a ceremony that makes your family smile and will leave you with a warm and heart-bolstering feeling inside. Agnostic Scotland has a Community Fund to help provide affordable ceremonies for all. If you feel you need support paying for your ceremony, please let me know.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to planning a Naming, Welcome-to-the-World or Family Celebration. You might be looking for a traditional Naming Ceremony with readings, a declaration of the names being given, promises from the parents, and Guide- or God-parents. You may wish to include elements of religion such as prayers or blessings, or create an entirely non-religious ceremony.
You might be seeking a ceremony that is heart-centred and holistic.
You might be wanting a light, fun ceremony that is full of child-focussed joy.

I really invest in the couples and families I work with and take the time to get to know you. Over a period of several weeks or months, I collaborate with you and I write a completely unique ceremony for you. I create beautiful bespoke keepsake ceremony keepsakes, vow scrolls and symbolic elements. I plant a tree for every family, as well as vow scrolls and beautiful certificates should you wish to include them. I donate a percentage of my fee to our wider community work.

I love to travel and am pretty outdoorsy. I’m comfortable conducting ceremonies in all kinds of locations – mountains, hotels, gardens, beaches.
I really invest in the couples I work with and take the time to get to know you. I write a unique ceremony for you, with your input, then create a ‘secret’ version based on ‘snippets’ you have individually shared with me. I pour my heart into every ceremony so it is exactly as you wish it to be.
I plant a tree for every couple, design vow scrolls and other ‘props’ if you wish me to. I donate a percentage of my fee to our community fund.
Funerals
If you would like me to help you to plan, write and deliver a life celebration and memorial ceremony for your loved one, then it would be my honour and privilege to work with you.
If you are nearing the end of your life and are looking for someone thoughtful, calm and light of heart to help you plan your funeral, life celebration or memorial gathering then it would be my privilege to support you.
Due to the nature of my work-life commitments, I am only able to plan memorial or life celebration ceremonies that are at least a month into the future. For this reason, the focus of my funeral support is on memorial gatherings, intimate memorial celebrations, and end of life funeral planning. I am unable to support the planning of short-notice funerals.
An Agnostic ceremony is one that is inclusive and open-minded. It is possible to entirely reflect your, or the person you are grieving for’s, own unique blend of beliefs and values. All words, music, symbolic elements and rituals are entirely your choice.
A memorial ceremony can be collaborative, involving wider family and friends. It can be unique and personal to you.
I do my very best to ensure that the ceremony we create gives you the opportunity to say everything you wish to say and do everything you wish to do in order to truly pay tribute to and celebrate the life of the person being honoured.
I am flexible in how I work, responding to the needs and wishes of the families and individuals I support. I am always open to sharing time with wider family and friends to create a ceremony that is reflective of your wishes.

I will take the time to get to know you, to find out everything that I can about the loved one you are grieving for, and to help you create a ceremony that you feel proud of and that truly does you or your loved one justice.
If you are planning your own funeral, life celebration or memorial gathering then I would share time with you to truly understand, respect and reflect your wishes for your ceremony.
In some situations I am able to offer in-kind support for those who are unable to afford the proposed fees.

Elopement in the Highlands
We decided on eloping to Scotland from the US. We met with Onie via zoom to discuss our day and knew instantly that she was someone we would want to share our day with. We wanted our ceremony to be private and special. She created the most beautiful narrative that captured the uniqueness of our love story. She included all of our favorite things, what we loved about each other and even included secret things that weren’t reveled until the ceremony. She carried my bouquet when I was hiking in the mud in my dress. She is spectacularly kind and we will always be grateful to have been recommended to her. She believes in love, all love. She is an artist, a poet, a composer. I wish I could give her more stars because she deserves them all.
The Perfect Celebrant for the Perfect Day
Onie exceeded every expectation we had for a celebrant.
We were unprepared for what we wanted for our ceremony, and Onie guided us through making everything perfect. We came to her with very few ideas, and she gave us so many! She was accommodating for anything we asked.
Through her questionnaire, she truly captured the love we have for one another. The words she wrote about our love for one another truly felt like someone who knew us so well.
On the wedding day, she assuaged all of the nervous feelings with her kindness and support. Every attendee voiced what a beautiful ceremony it was, and that is entirely thanks to our wonderful officiant.
The book from our ceremony is a treasured keepsake that we will revisit for many years.
We truly believe that Onie is the best celebrant you could hope to find.

Magical mountain wedding
I’m still on Cloud Nine after our incredible wild wedding on Beinn Eighe.
Onie has an excellent knowledge of Wester Ross and the location was spot on. We were so grateful for her flexibility as Beinn Eighe, the ‘Ice Mountain’ was anything but! The weather was barmy so we stripped off our thermals and extended our hike to the Lochan at the top.
The ceremony was beautiful, Onie had done an amazing job of weaving together the stories and memories we’d shared with her on our zoom calls. Haring her reading the script back to us reiterated to me the meaning in all these moments, and the love that Ivan and I share.
Onie held the ceremony tenderly, she balanced giving us space and keeping things flowing – which was much needed as I was very emotional and forgetting what I was supposed to say/do!
We loved the Celtic traditions that Onie introduced us to, real highlights of the ceremony. We were a small group, and Onie made sure everyone felt included, and important to this most magical of moments.
I would absolutely recommend Onie to be your wedding celebrant.
