Hi, I'm Sarah
I’m Sarah an Independent Celebrant, and can help you mark your life events, be that welcoming a child, a wedding/partnership, vow renewal or commitment ceremony, or celebrating the life of a loved one.
Friendly, attentive, professional and supportive, I am here to help you.
I live in North Kent, on the border with London and am happy to travel locally or further afield to ensure you get the celebration you want.
Having worked as a senior customer services manager in the public sector for over 20 years, dealing with staff and customers alike, I am flexible and adaptable, offering support and guidance and suggesting creative solutions if needed.
I am happy to accept a challenge, so if you want to incorporate other celebrations into your wedding or partnership (eg a baby naming or handfasting) please just ask. Celebrations can be held in your home or at local restaurant/hostelry, again you just need to ask.
I previously worked as a Registrar and Wedding Celebrant for a London Borough so I have gained extensive experience in the field. I am also a qualified Funeral Celebrant and a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC).

Weddings
Have you already envisaged your special day – what will it be like?
Exciting, romantic, personal, heartfelt, fun, creative, significant to you, sharing your beliefs and traditions? With me as your celebrant you can be assured this is the wedding or partnership ceremony you will have. It will be designed specifically for you and therefore like no other wedding. A truly memorable ceremony, whether traditional, unconventional, formal, casual or a blend.
Where will your special day be and who will be celebrating with you?
Your day may include just your dearest friends and family or many hundreds of people. It may be brief or over a couple of days. It could be in the wild, on a beach, in your home or in a hotel, the venues are limitless! You might want a theme, you may choose readings, music, hymns, songs, prayers or blessings. You may not.

These are all options I will discuss with you to ensure that your day is just the way you want it to be.
Your marriage service or partnership ceremony is at the centre of your wedding day. This is where you make your promises to the person you love, where you truly celebrate the journey you have already been on and commit to a future together. I will focus on this area of your day, leaving all the other arrangements to friends, family or your event planner.
However, I do have experience of planning and advising on weddings and I will be able to support you as you find your way through the potential maze of preparations and developing your own concept. The start of your married life will be as individual as you.
Naming Ceremonies
Welcoming children into your family is a joyous thing. They can arrive in a variety of ways including birth, adoption or joining existing families together.
I can work with you to celebrate and honour their arrival, creating the perfect ceremony that will focus on your child or children, making each celebration unique. I will help you achieve the personal ceremony that you and your family will love.
An uplifting, personal, heartfelt and relaxed baby naming may be what you’re after.
You may wish to celebrate the joy of adopting a child or children into your family.
You may be marrying your partner and want to have a family unification ceremony that affirms the relationship between you both and any children you may have, and welcomes them into your wider family.

These ceremonies can take place wherever you choose; a park, your front room, a favourite venue, in the garden – the important thing is that you have a day when the addition of a child or children is recognised. They can be standalone ceremonies or be incorporated into a wedding or partnership ceremony, it is entirely up to you.

Renewal of Vows
Maybe you’re celebrating 10, 25 or 50 years as a couple and would love to have a vow renewal ceremony in front of the people who weren’t there the first time around.
Perhaps you’ve simply been married just a short time but changes in your life have meant you’d like to say ‘I do’ once more.
Maybe you got married abroad and want an opportunity for your friends and family back home to participate in your celebrations.

Funerals
When someone close to you dies it is a profound and life-changing event. That person deserves a unique ceremony that reflects and celebrates their life and tells their story in a personal, heartfelt and meaningful way. I can help you create the perfect life and funeral celebration.
A funeral, or celebration of life, or ashes scattering ceremony can include some spiritual content, a little, or none at all. The ceremony we create together will honour the life of the person who has died. Readings, music, hymns, songs, children’s stories, prayers and tributes can be included, but there are no set rules. This service will be as individual and unique as we all are, so whatever your wishes or ideas, please feel free to discuss them.

In general, we will meet for an hour (more if needed), in a place suitable for you. We can talk and then we will plan the right service for the person you love. Throughout the planning we will stay in touch, working together to ensure all details are correct, represent your heart and the essence of the person you love.
I am happy to work in a wide range of different venues; including woodland and natural burial grounds, crematoriums and civic cemeteries as well as the family home, peaceful gardens, farms, pubs, village halls and hotels, I want to ensure that you have the right service for you in the right location.

Zero fuss and total support

Crematorium service
Sarah did a great job helping us with dad’s crematorium service. Managed to make it personal and professional at the same time. Responded quickly to questions and gave advice when needed . Thanks Sarah made a massive difference xx
A wonderful manner and a guiding compassion
Dear Sarah
Thank you for your help with mum’s memorial service. It was so lovely to have someone known as a friend to conduct the service and someone we could trust to run things as mum would have wished. In this year, when so many services have been disrupted and curtailed, it was ever more important to feel in control over the arrangements, and to have a very capable and skilled facilitator to ensure we had all arrangements completed.
Your career as a celebrant really plays to your strengths. You have a wonderful manner and a guiding compassion for life’s sadder moments – and I’m sure for the happiest ones too!
