Hi, I'm Siobhan
My name is Siobhan, I’m a formally trained independent celebrant based in Connemara on the West coast of Ireland. Helping family & friends to organise celebrations has been a constant theme in my life – I’ve always loved the feelings of joy & unity such occasions inspire. I’ve a background in making presentations to the public through years spent working on the beautiful Aran Islands – finally becoming a celebrant felt like a totally natural progression for me.

I’ve no favourite style when it comes to wedding ceremonies – I love them all, from modern, intimate elopements to huge events. Whatever your style or venue – beach, field, castle or garden – I’ll work with you to make it unique & special.
I tailor bespoke packages for each couple – listening to exactly what you want & discussing how we can make that a reality is the most important aspect of my work.

Naming Ceremonies
The arrival of a new family member is such a beautiful gift & it would be my delight to help make your family’s special day even more special. I’ve a large extended family & know what it takes to create a ceremony that’s inclusive for all, whatever their age. While they say ‘never work with children…’, I embrace the joy (and occasional moments of chaos!) that little ones bring to a party; I love working with families to find ways for siblings, friends & cousins to engage with welcoming your latest addition.
I recognise that every family is unique & will work with you to create a naming ceremony to reflect your personal beliefs & style. Whether it’s a low-key, intimate event or you’ve hundreds of guests, I’ll tailor the perfect ceremony to fit your budget & wishes. Funerals
I embrace the fact that many families are looking to less formal ways of celebrating the passing of a loved one – ceremonies that are respectful without religiosity, reflective & moving without following the strict conventions of a traditional funeral ceremony. Recognising the sensitivity of such occassions, I’ll work with you & help to translate any wishes of the deceased to create a ceremony that honours life, reflects the individual & permits fitting ways for family and friends to share in the process of saying goodbye if you wish.
I’m able to tailor packages to suit your budget & wishes. It’s a sensitive time when you may be feeling overwhelmed, and after our initial discussions it can be helpful to get ideas about the different ways in which a life can be celebrated – it may be something entirely novel or I can suggest some simple, symbolic acts that reflect age-old human rituals around the passing of life. If you don’t have any fixed plan for your ceremony, I can help provide inspiration for memorable & moving ways for family and friends to share their grief & love in ceremonies.
