Hi, I'm Richard
Following some major milestones in my life I felt it was time to follow my passion and take the opportunity to utilise my experience and skills in a different and far more rewarding way and by working as an Independent Celebrant it has enabled me to work closely with couples & families and help tailor their own celebrations to create special lasting memories from their own milestones and therefore allowing me a truly wonderful feeling knowing that I was able to be part of that experience.
Whether your milestone is a Wedding, Vow renewal, Naming ceremony, Commitment ceremony or a Celebration of Life, I would feel honoured to be given the opportunity to be part of your memory making and by sharing your dreams, ideas and suggestions we will work to create a perfect and memorable ceremony, recognising at all times that it’s your day and therefore it’s your way.
What's my ceremony style?
I approach every ceremony with an open mind, no two are or should be the same, I’m there to listen to your ideas to what will make your perfect ceremony and share suggestions using my experience, with my sole purpose being to help you create ceremonies that are bespoke and individual to you, encompassing your values and beliefs and are full of memories for you and your families and friends for many years to come.
I’m fully committed to YOU, your guests, and your ceremony, from our first meet to your special day, I will be available to offer any support and inspiration required to ensure your day is delivered your way.

Apprehension from delivering your first ceremony, knowing how important the milestone is to the families but then the sense of relief that it was a success makes this role something special, the apprehension has being replaced with adrenalin and a desire to keep making wonderful memories from your milestones.

As an independent celebrant I have no restrictions in terms of the content, presentation or style of a ceremony, and can therefore it can be completely personalised. Working with you, my ceremonies can contain many of the elements that you and your guests would expect to see but also can include many ideas or suggestions that make your ceremony unique and as individual as you are. I’ll promise to make your ceremony as heartfelt and relaxed as possible and aim to ensure that between us we create some amazing and unforgettable memories for you and your guests.

Weddings
As an independent celebrant, I’m keen to work with all couples and create a personalised service encompassing any enhancements to make your day special.
Working within the LGBTIQ community often involves working with couples with long standing relationship history who may have been together twenty, thirty years – maybe longer and to be able to create a memorable ceremony together and to be part of this celebration makes it an honour to be able share this milestone with a couple.
I am committed to providing you with a heartfelt service, regardless of your age, gender, gender identity, race, religious background or sexual orientation.
– An initial no obligation chat and if you’re excited from there, we will arrange a further ‘getting to know you’ chat and learn about your hopes and dreams for your perfect celebration
– Preparation of your bespoke ceremony with opportunities for you to view the draft and make any necessary tweaks
– Access to a large selection of vows/readings/wording ideas
– Working with your wedding planners or your ceremony organisers on your special day
– A relaxed but professional and heartfelt delivery of the ceremony on the day
– A keepsake commemorative certificate and copy of the ceremony script
– Able to attend a venue that best suits you, your garden, a woodland, a wedding venue, the place you first met, by the beach. Essentially, anywhere of your choosing.

Being a wedding celebrant is a wonderful privilege and should you choose me I will ensure we share a journey to create a personal, unique and meaningful ceremony. Your location can be almost anywhere with or without a venue marriage licence (on a beach or clifftop, in a field or woodland), there are no boundaries with religious vows, music, readings so working together we can create a completely bespoke ceremony with love, laughter and whatever else you would like to include, maybe a symbolic element too (Hand Fasting, Unity Candles, Sand Ceremony, Crystals, Ring Warming), it’s your day and your way.
Naming Ceremonies
Naming Ceremonies are highly personalised and reflect the family and your wishes, offering a beautiful alternative to a religious christening. They can also be held in any location, so as parents you have the freedom to decide where to celebrate. It’s all about your child and the hopes as parents you have for their future and an opportunity to welcome them into the family, celebrating their arrival with loved ones.

– A professional, unique and personalised ceremony script created for your baby naming ceremony based on your story and your vision for your day.

– I will be at your chosen venue and hour before we are due to start the ceremony, to make sure everything is in place for you.

Renewal of Vows
Every couple has their own reason for renewing their wedding vows. The most important thing is it gives you the chance to reflect on your journey to date and your hopes for the future. It could be reaching a significant milestone, such as a 10th or 25th anniversary or maybe the original marriage ceremony wasn’t what was planned and you wish to take an opportunity to have “the wedding you never had” or it could be following a challenging chapter in your marriage and you have come out the other side of it, ready to commit to each other anew. It can take place anyway you choose and you decide if you wish to write new vows or exchange new rings as we spend the time together to get to know your storey and create a bespoke and personalised ceremony with lasting memories.

Why choose Richard for your renewal of vows?
Any couple can hold a renewal of vows ceremony anywhere, and at any point in their marriage. There are no legalities involved in renewing your vows. It is a symbolic ceremony designed to celebrate and re-confirm your love. I will create a bespoke ceremony that suits your personality, style and beliefs. It can include any poems, words, music and readings from the marriage and bring into the ceremony some new elements.
Funerals
I work closely with Funeral Directors to personalise a ceremony that is as bespoke, inspiring and unique as you choose. It is heart warming to here such positive feedback from the family following a service, generally I deliver a celebration of life which can also incorporate any prayers, hymns or readings of choice.
A home visit to craft a personalised service, with suggestions and ideas as to the order and content of the service. I will remain in contact leading up to the day, providing draft copies of eulogies etc.
I will e-mail a keepsake of the wording following the funeral
