Are you looking for a professional yet relaxed civil celebrant? Do you want something a little different? Do you want a ceremony that your friends and family will be involved in and will remember for ever? Whether you are getting married, saying a sad farewell to a loved one, renewing your vows or welcoming a new family member into your loving home, it will be an honour to share that journey with you and work with you to create and deliver your story. I am a civil celebrant for weddings, funerals, celebration of life, adoption welcoming, pet funerals, scattering/interment of ashes and naming ceremonies throughout Shropshire, Cheshire, Mid/North Wales and the West Midlands.
What's my ceremony style?
If you would like your ceremony to feel upbeat right from the start, I provide live music on the trumpet or organ/piano. The most popular for walking down the aisle is “Here Comes the Bride” but, if the organ or the slower romantic pieces don’t take your fancy, what about Trumpet Voluntary, often heard at Royal weddings.
At funerals, I can perform The Last Post on the bugle as a nod to the deceased time in the military or emergency services. It is often sounded at military funerals to indicate that the soldier has gone to his final rest.

As a headteacher and musician, I’d often been asked to speak or perform at weddings and funerals of friends and family. Public speaking and performing are something I thoroughly enjoy doing. After 28 years as a teacher, I decided it was time for a change of career and to take the plunge and become a celebrant. And I love it!
I studied music at music college, and I began my working life as a professional musician this led to me performing at many different venues including many weddings and funerals.

It will be my pleasure to work with you to create a truly personalised, bespoke, memorable & unique occasion. Choosing me as your celebrant gives you freedom of choice to have whatever you wish – no rules, no limitations! You are not restricted to licenced venues; you can hold your ceremony wherever you wish – castle, barn, field, woodland, beach, hotel, boat, mountain top, to name a few. You may decide you would like to write your own vows, you may want your ceremony to include live music, a spiritual element, symbolic rituals, stories, poems, songs or readings. Maybe you would like to involve family and friends, children or grandchildren in the ceremony – you can! The ceremony is personalised for you. At no extra cost, you will get the opportunity to sign a commemorative certificate which is a framed.

Naming Ceremonies welcome new children, whether they are adopted, or new babies born into a loving family. It’s a celebration of new life and a family bond. If a religious ceremony is not right for you, a Naming Ceremony can be the perfect way to welcome your child into the family and celebrate with friends and family.
It will be my privilege to work with you to make this celebration very special and a day to remember forever.

The renewal of vows is a lovely way to celebrate the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. There are many reasons why couples like to renew their vows and re-affirm their love for one another.
Renewing wedding vows is a beautiful and poignant ceremony for the couple, their family and friends.

Funerals
As a former member of a Territorial Army Band, Musical Director of West Mercia Police Band and an active Freemason, it would be my privilege to officiate a military, emergency services or Masonic funeral.

As a Headteacher for 13 years at a school for children and young people with mental health issues, autism, or medical conditions, I can support when planning a funeral or memorial service. I have the necessary knowledge and experience to advise on how to support children who have been affected by the loss of a loved one, and I can create a beautiful bespoke ceremony that aims to help with change at such a difficult time.

A lovely service
I wanted to send a note of thanks and a very positive from my Mom and my family for the lovely service Steve conducted.
It is such a terribly sad time, yet we wanted to capture the life of Pete and celebrate that as well, and I think the service did that perfectly.
We received so many lovely comments about the service and so many people said it was the best funeral service they had ever been to as it captured the moment in just the right way.

Beautiful & emotional service
Steve was so accommodating and professional, yet kind considerate and so supportive throughout. His service was moving, beautiful and sincere but not without humour that just made the service that extra special. As a veteran, my father would have appreciated Steve’s rendition of The Last Post it was so moving.
