Hi, I'm Tina
My name is Tina and I am a professionally qualified celebrant. I started my journey to becoming a celebrant a few years ago after helping officiate a close friend’s wedding. Whilst helping my friend with their ceremony I knew becoming a Celebrant was something I wanted to pursue. I’ve always been people-centric, and I love creating feel-good events!
Since then I have left my career in education and started my company- TR Special Ceremonies. My goal is simple, to create ceremonies with empathy. So, whatever ceremony your planning you can rest assured that together we’ll create a wonderful and memorable day.
What's my ceremony style?
Ultimately, my ceremonies are designed to reflect what makes your story unique. With a background in teaching, I am able to create and deliver an engaging script (is there a harder audience than teenagers!). My background also involves working extensively with a range of children with Special Education Needs, so I can tailor my services for great inclusivity.

Planning any ceremony is a stressful process and my promise to all of my clients is that I ensure all of their needs are listened to. By choosing me as your celebrant I will do my utmost to ensure I can alleviate the stress and hassle around your ceremony. I adapt my approach to each client and each ceremony to ensure each client gets the best value.
What do I offer?
Weddings
I do not have a set type of ideal couple. Young, Mature, Special needs, LGBTW+ , all are welcome! However I would say that my couples are often seeking a longer service with lots of personailsed parts to it. That may be special vows, including others in the ceremony, hand fasting, love journey , songs, poems included etc.
I offer a totally bespoke ceremony written just for that particular wedding day. I can offer lots of elements that the couple may choose such as unique vows, readings, poems, hand binding, candles for lost loved ones, including children into a blended family etc. After my first chat with a couple, I would agree on a price for my service and then the couple can expect up to three more meetings to finalise the script and the arrangements.

I always listen first, that’s essential to understand what the couple may want and the vibe of the wedding celebration. I think couples like that and also I am friendly, approachable caring and professional. I LOVE WHAT I DO! My couples say that I come up with creative ideas, well written in a non-pushy way that makes them feel less nervous leading up to the big day.
Naming Ceremonies
I am a trained professional celebrant that covers naming ceremonies. What could be more special than your name? it can mean so much! Many people do not want a religious naming ceremony for a baby therefore, my services can be wonderfully tailored to the family’s needs. Don’t worry if baby needs a quick feed or nappy change we can adapt around that whereas a formal church service may be limited on time. I can include some religious elements if you feel you would still like a prayer or have a similar feature like a godparent role.
If you are older changing your name then we can discuss what type of ceremony you would like to reflect your brand-new name.
I offer very flexible packages from a very short naming ceremony to a more complex longer service. I listen to your needs and adapt my bespoke naming ceremony around your needs. I give a caring, loving approach as it’s an honour to conduct this type of ceremony and usually one everyone really enjoys! We can include family/friends/godparent-type and make it as special as the child/person being named.

I listen first to understand the theme/vibe of the service. I am very open and friendly and have vast experience in dealing with all types of people in life. My services are unique to each naming ceremony and I never conduct more than one service a day so I give all my concentration and energy to my families.
Renewal of Vows
I feel it is an honour to hear from couples that already have a long history together. I love to hear their story and then I can help them plan what they wish for the ceremony. These ceremonies often include family and long-standing friends being involved which as they say is “the icing on the cake ! “. I am fun, good-humoured and romantic and love what I do.
I offer a flexible approach to these ceremonies; sometimes couples just want a short renewal of vows and some want an extensive ceremony reflecting their years together, with new vows to reflect where they are now as a couple. All my ceremonies are created with love and humour to relax all the people involved.

Why choose Tina for your renewal of vows?
I love to hear about the couples’ love journey and believe (and have been told) I am good at summarising their life together and creating a lovely ceremony to remember. I think my funeral training helps with this as when creating a funeral ceremony it’s about listening and summarising a person’s key things in life. I will only ever conduct one service a day so that my couples get my full interest and energy for the perfect day.
Funerals
I am here to help with the difficult process when you lose a loved one. It can be a very stressful time and many people feel a range of emotions or even numbness. I always listen first and then start to build a picture of the life of the deceased. I can work with any funeral director as I am a fully trained independent celebrant. I am very caring, approachable and kind.
I can adapt my service to the length of the timeslot booked at the crematorium or graveside. My fee is a set price in line with current costs across the southeast area. My services tend to be non-religious content but I can include some prayers, hymns or readings if required. You can expect two meetings with me to chat through what is required, other family members can also attend these.

Ceremony planning
We chose Tina to plan and organise our upcoming ceremony in July, we are getting married at Southend Registry Office, but have decided to have a blessing after, for all of our friends and family to be a part of due to the registry having limited capacity and us being together for 22 years.
Tina has been very helpful in offering ideas, advice and generally supporting us on personalising our ceremony, she came up with the idea of the Handfasting to include those unable to witness the exchanging of rings at the registry!
Tina has also been very helpful with regards to putting together our thoughts for our vows and other areas of the ceremony to include loved ones who are no longer with us!!
We are very much looking forward to our imminent celebration with confidence that Tina will make it very special and unique to us as a couple and inclusive of of our families and friends.
Tina’s passion for creating special memories comes through at every point in this process!!

Simply The Best
Tina had been a very dear friend for many years. Our original wedding was distrupted by Covid in 2020. We had the legal element done with all the restrictions in place. We had arranged with the venue to re-do the wedding the following when hopefully things would be better. I knew that the only one I wanted to be the celebrant was Tina. Her way with words and comforting presence was perfect for the wedding recreation. She was given free reign to create the ceremony from scratch. The final product was a beautiful moving, refreshingly funny and simply perfect ceremony. For her first ever ceremony, it was simply faultless. We had the venue staff tell us it was the best they had seen there because they could tell it was ‘us’ – that perfect balance between love and humour. We consider ourselves fortunate to be the unique position of having had a wedding in two parts – first part special because of who we later lost and the second part special because of what Tina had not just created but crafted for us. For that we will be forever grateful. I recommend her wholehearted.
