We first met Liz last year when we had never heard of a celebrant before and didn't even know it was possible!
We thought she was lovely from the initial meeting and booked her for our wedding.
Liz worked so hard, she had regular meetings and contact with us whilst she was preparing our ceremony. Her attention to detail is amazing and I would most definitely use her over a regular registrar any day!!
Everybody commented on how different and personal the ceremony was and it was very emotional. It was nice to have her there on the day, rather than a registrar, because she knew us, our likes and dislikes and we knew her.
I am so happy we had Liz perform our ceremony and we feel so lucky that we met her that day. She's a treasure. Thank you so much, we will remember it forever.
Kate and Ryan.

Just wanted to say a very big “thank You” for the beautiful Service that you celebrated for us yesterday when we said farewell to our beloved Tony. We all appreciated your warmth, empathy and consideration for our family. You managed to capture the essence of Tony and this came across so clearly. To see so many people attending was quite overwhelming and a tribute to Tony and a consolation to the family. The comments that we received about the Service and about you where very complimentary and very sincere.
Sending our best wishes and appreciation, Anne

Liz was absolutely brilliant, from the moment we first got in touch with and met her to discuss how we'd like our day to go, we felt at ease. Liz is very attentive, patient, warm and thoughtful and put a lot of effort and warmth into crafting the words she shared with our guests on the wedding day. She was able to use her words and ours to convey what the day was truly about and for that, we are grateful. 5 stars out of 5, would definitely recommend her service.
Thank you Vicky and Mike for a wonderful review. I loved creating your ceremony with you and thoroughly enjoyed officiating with your pastor too. Your bridesmaids joining in the singing. Your families were just lovely. A real blend of culture and custom, an amazing day that I will remember for a long time, wishing you both every happiness in your new home

From start to finish the whole process of creating our ceremony was made extra special by Liz. She was supportive throughout, letting us know what we needed to do (As we didn't have a clue where to even start). She showed us ideas we hadn't thought of and was very much about making it about us and was very patient- which was needed
What a lovely review, thank you Kirsty and Michael, it made my day and I really appreciate you taking time out to share your experience. I was over the moon that you asked me and I loved every minute of planning with you from our first meeting to the day of your ceremony,
big love, Liz

Inglewood Manor | August 2017
Dear Liz, I've got a few comments for you from our guests, everyone thought the wedding was amazing !! They especially loved the service which had everyone in floods of tears! They loved “ our story “ part of the service and of course the beautiful hand fasting. Most people were unsure when I told them we were having a celebrant to conduct our service, even Dougie, but after they had seen it for themselves everyone said what a wonderful truly meaningful service it was, that was very personal and moving.
My favourite part was Dougie reading his poem/vows and the hand fasting. Dougie of course enjoyed the piper which was the hardest secret I’ve ever kept.
I can’t thank you enough for conducting our service it was more than I could of ever imagined, and were both still over the moon with the whole beautiful day, my only regret is not having it recorded so I could re live it all again, as the day went so fast it was almost a blur. Mr and Mrs Scott
Dear Dougie and Amanda, what a great review to begin my day with, thank you so much. I enjoyed every minute of working with you both and glad you enjoyed it, I did too, I particularly loved the blending of both of your Scottish, Irish and English heritage, it was just so beautiful, Love, Liz xx
Macclesfield Cemetery and Crematorium | March 2019
Thank you for conducting the ceremony for Gloria last Friday and in particular the sympathetic and constructive time which you spent with Claire, Louise, Joanne and me before the ceremony when you were gathering background information from us.
We all thought that your planning and input ensured that the ceremony was just as we would have wished it and Gloria would have enjoyed every minute. Since Friday and immediately after the ceremony almost everyone present made a point of saying how much that they had enjoyed the occasion and how informal and relaxed it had been.
Thank you again from all our family.
Dear Bobby, thank you very much, I really appreciate you taking the time to share you appreciation, I know how tough her passing was for you as a family, what a lady!
Stockport Crematorium | October 2019
A massive thank you for all that you did for Mum's funeral. I am so happy that John recommended you, as you were simply amazing throughout the whole time. Thank you for being so caring and helping us to get through a very sad time. You made it a little easier to deal with by being so helpful and caring. On the day you did my Mum and us all so proud.
It was so important to me that my Mum got the send off she deserved, and you gave that to her. We will never forget that! So many people commented on what a beautiful service it was and that was largely down to you. We couldn't have wished for a better person to help us through this sad time. So, from myself, my Dad and Brother and Nana thank you from the bottom of our hearts. love, Shelley Jones and family xx
Dear Shelley and family, thank you for your very kind words, your mum's servcie is one that I will rember for a very long time to come, you have so much support and love around you, not only for your mum but for you as a family, her influence was so easy to see in you and yours, I know you did and will make her proud, much love, Liz xx

The Devonshire Dome | July 2015
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to Liz, we met up and waffled our way through our life in a nutshell, sharing stories and quirks with Liz like we’d known her for years. Liz asked questions and we sat quiet, awkwardly answering and came away thinking ‘do we sound like we don’t know each other!?! Well, Liz must be a seriously good listener and our waffle paid off. Chris and I sat, both of us crying as we read the first draft of our story – in fact Chris couldn’t speak. It was fantastic for us. It had romance, comedy and the odd tear jerker in there. Perfect. She even gave us the courage to write our own vows and I’m so glad we did. There is no stress with Liz, she’s professional and effortless, taking everything in her stride, truly amazing at her job. Absolutely worth every penny, and the perfect Celebrant to share our day. Clare & Chris xxx
Dear Clare and Chris, I loved working with you bonkers pair! I loved the way you honoured those who couldn't be with you and the ringing of the truce bell! What a wedding, your personalities really shone out, one I will always remember xx

Tyn-Y-Capel Minera | May 2015
Having followed Liz’ business for the last 18 months or so, we already had a clear idea of the high standards Liz sets for herself, and these high standards become even more apparent once we booked her Wedding Celebrant services and commenced working together. We already shared Liz’ views on impersonal, conveyor-belt type weddings, and knew we didn’t want this, and so Liz taking the time to talk to us about our relationship and to learn about us as people was something we appreciated greatly.
The ideas we had for our wedding were for it to be a close, personal and intimate affair as neither of us particularly crave the limelight, and Liz complimented this notion perfectly, demonstrating a genuine interest in getting to know family members names and some basic background on family dynamics – which was important to me, having a blood, step and half family. Occasions such as weddings can be touchy subjects and have to be handled with an air of consideration in such families, and Liz taking the time to get to grips with this was greatly appreciated.
We loved the informal and relaxed approach Liz took as this helped make us both feel at ease and comfortable at a time when naturally, we were both quaking at the knees. The ceremony itself was performed and executed by Liz with professionalism and great diligence, with the final wording being perfectly attributed to our relationship – incorporating deep thought with bouts of humour. Just the perfect mix to keep our guests entertained and engaged.
Since the wedding, we have been complimented many, many times on the ceremony – which we can only pass all credit to Liz for. We really couldn’t have wished for a better service or more importantly, a genuinely lovely human being and now friend to have been such a huge part of our day. Thank you Liz – you were awesome!
Lou and Lynz, what can I say, your testimonial is lovely. I really enjoyed getting to know you both and to have become friends over time has been a lovely bonus. Happy days and thanks again x
Didsbury House Hotel | June 2014
Ric and I had such an amazing day for our garden ceremony in the UK. We planned our wedding from abroad. I found Liz through extensive research. We contacted her and she responded promptly with all questions answered. We liaised via skype and finally met a week prior to our big day. Liz contacted all of our vendors to ensure all the timings and arrangements were set for our day. On the day, we had nothing to worry about.
Liz was professional and provided a seamless ceremony that encompassed everything we wanted mentioned or highlighted. At the end of our day, when we thought back, or day was truly superb. A lovely touch was the beautiful card that accompanied a copy of our vows and ceremony which found placed in our room that evening.
Thank you for a lovely review, I loved the sand blending ceremony part of your wedding especially as coming from where you live and childhood homes the sand itself had such meaning and i', sure you will treasure that forever, much love, Liz x

Thank you so much for the beautiful ceremony yesterday. Everyone commented on how personal it was and some even said it was the best funeral they'd been to!! The way you wove it all together and the beautiful words you used, will be remembered by us forever. I know you had a lot going on whilst you were dealing with this for us and I wanted to thank you for continuing, especially when we kept adding bits and changing things. I would say that you were very professional but I don't think that is a fitting tribute to you since you have a lovely personal touch and we found you a comfort. I'm glad we chose you for the service and I'd choose you again in a heartbeat.

Adlington Hall | September 2015
We wanted to hold a special ceremony with our family and friends to celebrate the birth of our son, Benjamin, including our future hopes and aspirations for his life ahead of him. Liz visited the three of us at our home and spent time getting to know us, our background and what we wanted to convey to our guests at the ceremony. Liz was very warm and easy to get on with and provided us with some excellent advice and guidance on how the ceremony could be structured.
From our initial meeting right up to the day of the ceremony Liz was in constant contact with us providing suggestions and ideas for readings and promises. The day itself was everything we had hoped and more. We had so many lovely comments from our family and friends about how the ceremony was so personal and inspiring.
Mark and I are so pleased we found Liz as we believe she truly understood what we wanted to convey and we would have no hesitation in recommending her to others. Thank you Liz for helping make our day so special.
Hi Sara, Mark and Benjamin, thank you for a lovely review. Benjamin was a little star on the day, your family story is so heartwarming and working with you to create a ceremony that really captured all of those special moments was amazing. Thank you for sharing, it really wan an honour to have been chosen by you, much love, Liz x
The Smiths Room at Salford Lads Club | July 2016
Liz Thompson conducted our marriage (and my mum’s memorial). An amazing celebrant who personalises any service she conducts, from birth, through life’s events, to death. I would want no-one else overseeing it.
Higher than highly recommend xxx
I love a themed wedding, Joh and Neil, thank you! I loved every minute, what a wonderful venue, so quirky and so very you. So many music references in your wedding, and it was lovely to see everyone sincerely imparting their love and good wishes into your wedding rings as they held them. Liam and Hannah's performance of 'Follow You' was gorgeous, and I have always been a sucker for a Neruda poem, swoon... Be happy! xx
The Old Parsonage | April 2016
We are so glad we found Liz….what a wonderful woman she is! From the moment we first met her we felt completely at ease. Throughout our numerous email correspondence, our ceremony rehearsal, and then the big day itself, she was always available to talk through ideas or to offer advice and support.
She listened to exactly what we wanted whilst offering her own advice from her years of expertise, and translated it into a unique ceremony which was tailor-made to us and our personalities. It was so refreshing to be able to express our love for each other on our terms, rather than the prescribed words from the registry office.
Liz made a gorgeous bespoke handfasting cord for our ceremony, the quality of which was stunning. After the ceremony, Liz presented us with a copy of our service, which was beautifully put together and such a lovely memento of a perfect day. We couldn’t ask for anything more. It’s hard to really sum up in words exactly how amazing! We would happily recommend her services to anyone who wants to make their wedding truly the special occasion it deserves to be.
Dear John and Jenny. Thank you for a lovely testimonial and the images are stunning, you two have totally touched my heart, it was a beautiful spring wedding with so many little personal touches. Your love story was so lovely, you are totally suited to each other and I wish you everything that your hearts desire in life, much love, Liz xx
Albert Hall | December 2018
From the first phone call with Liz we knew we had found the person that we wanted to marry us. Her warm, friendly yet professional manner was exactly what we had been looking for. Liz came to visit us and really took the time to get to know our personalities. She explained and went through so many different options to ensure we would have exactly what we wanted for the wedding. The questions asked weren’t intrusive at all and allowed her to really get a picture of us and it was a really lovely way to talk through and tailor a ceremony bespoke to us. We were able to contact Liz for any advice we needed and were given all the time we needed to write vows, find our own readings and get advice on how the ceremony would run.
We all met for a rehearsal before the big day where she was able to meet the rest of our families, which added an even more personal touch. On the wedding day itself, she was such a calming influence on the groom and ensured everything was and would run smoothly. There was no stress at all as we completely trusted everything would go to plan due to her fantastic organisation. The ceremony was beautiful and we will remember it for the rest of our lives. It is very rare that you find someone that can so quickly understand and capture exactly what a couple wants on their big day but Liz got everything so right and with so many little touches that just made the day even more special.
Thank you Julia and Ben, I loved getting to know you both and creating your ceremony, your story was just magical, especially loved the proposal part. There wasn't a dry eye in the house on the day. Getting married on the stage was a fabulous idea, it was a magical Christmas wedding and I enjoyed every minute, much love to you both xx
Didsbury House Hotel | December 2018
Lucy and I were really excited about getting married and were completely buzzed with organising the whole wedding. We knew exactly what we wanted, and we wanted the same thing – except for in one area: the ceremony. One of us wanted a sincere and somewhat serious ceremony; one of us wanted a fun and playful ceremony. We had no idea how to breach this divide. We spoke to three potential celebrants, but it was clear that Liz, was best placed to help us navigate through our different view and create a successful ceremony.
From the beginning Liz was heartfelt yet professional; a difficult balance to strike! We felt that she completely understood us and what we wanted and we were relaxed in her professional hands. She had a process that she guided us through, but was also completely flexible too. That balance is what made us feel that we could completely trust her and that she was listening.
Our ceremony was perfect, just what we wanted. It had the right blend of sincere (but not tacky) moments, and a great deal of lightness and laughter. We feel that the congregation knew more about us as a couple, laughed at a lot of the journey we had been on together, and then took part in our journey into becoming married. Liz had a great idea to involve our mums as well as our dads in the ceremony, which we loved, and of course enabled our beloved dog to be part of the ceremony too.
If we were to get married again we wouldn’t change a thing about the ceremony or working with Liz.
Ellie and Lucy, Thank you so much!
That's an amazing review, it was a wonderful way to begin the New year Celebrations and you were both wonderful, Teddy was a little star too xx

Thanks so much for yesterday, you were truly wonderful and we all enjoyed the service. I will be happy to recommend you to my friends and family. I didn't sleep last night but was trying to remember everything about the day, I do feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can now relax and get back to some kind of normality. thanks again, Lynn xx

Dear Liz, Just wanted to let you know how touched we all were with the service today. I appreciate that clients like us pass through your life on a daily basis and I understand this day will fade with time and become a distant memory. the pain will fade and the joy of the man who was dad will rise. We will remember the man who gave so much and asked for so little. I sincerely hope that I will continue the legacy and become half the man he ever was. I have to admit that I was not looking forward to our initial visit and the responsibility in trying to convey the life of a man well lived in 20 minutes. However, I wanted you to know granted a few beers down the line and a heart full of emotion, you gave me the strength to convey the character, subtle nuances, love and affection of a man who contributed so much to those around him here on planet Earth. Thank you for being a beautiful orator, for putting mum at ease and allowing us all to connect with dad one more time. My dad would have said "Liz you did just fine". Farewell and my gratitude spans the universe, Mark.
Hi Mark, what lovely words, and yes the day will fade but your mum and dad's story won't. It's rare that people form such an unbreakable bond, I can see their influence in you and I can't imagine how bereft you are all feeling. It truly was an honour to have the opportunity to help your family and friends celebrate his life, you were all a credit to him and did him proud. Go well Mark and I hope that you can begin to move forward, you're stronger than you know

Liz went out of her way to help us when my Father died. She was recommended to us as a celebrant but ended up saving the whole event from being a disaster. We were very unhappy with the funeral director that we first went with. Liz saw our stress regarding this and advised that we could change. We did. She lifted all the stress from us.
We had written a lengthy eulogy about Dad. Liz listened to us, she got his character and what he was about straight away and compiled a beautiful service around our eulogy. She sent us poems to choose from that were appropriate to Dad. She was also there to calmly guide and support us through the day.
I have seen some celebrants who are over the top, some too gushing with fake sympathy. Liz has an understated style that makes the occasion totally about the family and not about her performance. Thank you for everything that you did.
Dear Liz, thank you for a great review, I am glad I was able to help, I couldn't bear it if a family were made to feel even more anxious at what is already a very vulnerable time. Your dad would have been so proud of his children. It was a tough time but you stood strong together and made it a wonderful celebration of a great man. Love to all, Liz

I just wanted to say the biggest thank-you for the service you did for my mum's funeral. It was simply perfect in every way. You listened to what I wanted & understood that it was important to me that it was completely about her & was uplifting & positive - a complete celebration of her life & the amazing person she was. Nothing was ever too much trouble for you & your approach was professional & compassionate from start to finish. I had so many comments afterwards about how lovely & fitting the service was.....someone even said to me "I'm really not sure if it's appropriate to say this....but it was the best funeral I've ever been to"! Thank-you for making such a sad occasion such an inspiring one - exactly what my wonderful mum would've wanted. Thanks again & keep doing what you're doing.
Thank you Lucy, what a lovely review and what a lovely mum, I have never seen so many beautiful flowers and had so many lovely comments about one person. I know you will miss her very much but what a wonderful legacy she has left in you and yours. She would have been so proud of you all, big love to you and yours, Liz x

In June of this year, I contacted Liz at Unity Ceremonies to assist myself and my family in planning my wife Sandra's funeral. A funeral is not something you usually plan for, but it is an inevitable fact of life.
The service was absolutely beautiful and it made it so much easier for myself and my family. I’m very sure that Sandra would’ve been very touched by your words. They were presented in a way that was truly beautiful and heartfelt, as if you’d known Sandra for many years. Even now, two months later, I cannot find the words to describe how it made me feel, but it has touched me in the most personal of ways.
I am so glad to have chosen Unity Ceremonies. I could not have made a better choice.
Steve, thank you so much for your kind words. You gave me so much to write about and it really was an honour to be asked to craft the farewell service for a truly inspirational woman. My thoughts still stray to some of the memories that you shared and I hope that her legacy of love gives you comfort as you find your way without Sandra by your side, I was only today thinking of the wonderful poem that you shared at her service. Take care of yourself, Liz

Liz was the celebrant for our sons naming ceremony in March 2017. We met her a few weeks before the date and she travelled to our home to discuss all our hopes and expectations for the day. Straight away she made both me and my partner feel very comfortable and answered any questions we had as neither of us really knew what to expect for a naming ceremony! Liz really made the day so personal and special for us and I would recommend her to anybody! We are very happy with our choice to go with Liz rather than to have a church christening.
Thank you Faye and Josh, it was lovely to meet you all and I loved getting to know you, writing and carrying out Reece's naming ceremony. Good luck for the future and keep in touch xx

We were so glad Liz was sent to us when my dear Trev passed away, sat with her pad & pen whilst we bombarded her with all our different story's of Trev, looking to each of us like watching a game of tennis 50years worth, how on earth was she going to put this together songs included, but she did capturing & detailing every memory from each decade sad, funny, tears were flowing smiles & a few sniffley giggles, everyone said the service was lovely,Liz made the saddest day of my life a little more bearable,4months on & i still read it over & over,we couldn't have wished for anyone better to celebrate my Trevs life,Liz clearly loves what she does & is one amazing five star lady.
Sandra that is so lovely of you, thank you. I do love what I do, partly because I hope my services help the healing process and also because I get to meet some really lovely people. I think of you all often and hope you are bearing up without your Trev. I'm glad you enjoy reading his tribute, much love, Liz

Liz created a truly wonderful funeral service for my partner's Mum. From her initial contact with the family and throughout the entire planning process she could not have been more kind, sensitive and empathic. Liz visited and kept contact with the family to talk to them about their loved one's life and dealt very sensitively with each of them in their grief. Liz took great care in listening, was insightful and perceptive and communicated incredibly well with each individual. She not only managed to beautifully capture the emotions and memories of the family but she went above and beyond in providing huge comfort to them along the way. The resulting service was a perfect, personal tribute to the lady whose life was being celebrated and was a true reflection of her life and spirit. Those closest to her, her family and her friends all felt that she herself would have loved it too. I cannot imagine there is another person more suited to providing such an incredibly important service; Liz is an absolute gift.
Dear Nicki, thank you for a wonderful review, and for taking the time out to share your appreciation and helping to share the word about how I work. It is important to me that families and friends have the opportunity to create a truly meaningful and personal funeral service and I am so happy to hear that I have achieved that for you all, much love to you and yours.

Dear Liz, We are emailing to thank you for donating your time and services to our wedding on Friday. Thank you for the most incredible ceremony, and letting us have a print out we can keep. They are safe in my wedding memory box. I will never forget what you have created and you really made the ceremony as special as it could have been. Words cannot thank you enough

On 1st June 2019 we had a naming day for our daughter and it was the most amazing, emotional and funny service we could ever have wished for. At first we were unsure what it would entail and if I’m honest I was a little sceptical as I’d never heard of a naming ceremony let alone attended one.
All fears were quickly banished at the very first planning meeting, Liz was so informative and imaginiatve. She kept us updated throughout the process and went above and beyond to ensure the day was simply perfect. Each and every person commented on what a fantastic service it was and I’m sure there will be more bookings which come from it! Liz you’re amazing at what you do we cannot thank you or recommend you enough x
Hi Laura, thank you for a wonderful review. I really enjoyed working with you all to create your daughter's naming ceremony, she was such a star on the day! I feel honoured that you put your faith in me despite your reservations about Naming Ceremonies, and what a wonderful ceremony it was, including all of the little stories and personal touches that made it so unique. I enjoyed seeing you all again recently, she has grown so much, and it was good to hear that people are still talking about it, which makes me a very happy Celebrant indeed x

People say that I am warm, approachable and easy to talk to, I am a great listener and it is important to me that you feel heard. All of which helps me to write engaging and creative ceremonies and services that include the stories that brought you to this day. My delivery style is relaxed and friendly with scatterings of humour, I engage with your guests and am a calming influence, helping to keep your pre-ceremony nerves at bay. Together we can create a ceremony is perfect for you,
Contact me to find out how more! Let's have a chat over a cuppa, we can get to know each other and you can decide if you would like me to be your celebrant.
