Hi, I'm Connie
I’m here to make sure you get the marvellous ceremony you deserve. I live just outside of Manchester with my other half and two whippets, but I’m very portable, and I’ll travel wherever your ceremony takes me.
I’ll meet you, get to know all about your relationship and what makes you tick, or about your family and your little one, and then I’ll write you a ceremony, completely personal to you. I’ll be with you every step of the way, like an unofficial Maid of Honour. I’ll help you to write your vows, choose readings and music, and recommend suppliers. Then on the day itself, I’ll conduct your ceremony, and make sure everything runs without a hitch.
Let me tell your story in all its glorious, messy, hilarious detail, and you’ll end up with a ceremony full of fun, laughter and emotional sucker punches that you and your guests will remember forever.
What's my ceremony style?
“To thrive in life, you need three bones. A wishbone, a back bone, and a funnybone.” Words to live by, right? I also instil this in my ceremonies. The wishbone: your vows to each other, hopes and dreams for the future, and the well wishes of your guests all sharing in your joy. The work I do is firmly rooted in storytelling, and weaving your tale through the proceedings forms the backbone of your ceremony. Completely bespoke every time, centred around you and your relationship or family, your ceremony will be so much more personal and meaningful than normal weddings or christenings. And the funnybone. Life is too short to take things too seriously, and while marriage is very serious business, as are all of life’s big milestones, they deserve to be celebrated, and there’s no reason why we can’t have a good giggle/snort/belly laugh along the way.

I trained as an actor, so being charismatic in front of large crowds is second nature, and after spending the first part of my professional life performing, I kind of fell into weddings and events by accident. I spent 4 years as a coordinator at two incredible venues, building up a solid network of ridiculously talented suppliers, and soaking up all the knowledge. And now I’m a celebrant, bringing couples and families knock-out ceremonies brimming with joy, laughter and life.

We’ve all been to *that* wedding: bored guests checking their watches, wondering when they’ll get a glass of fizz and something to eat, as the registrar reads the same words they’ve already said twice before that day, barely loud enough for anyone to hear. Too often, your wedding ceremony is seen as the dull, stuffy, formal bit to get out of the way before the fun starts. But who says it has to be this way? Who says your ceremony can’t be the party starter?!
That’s where I come in. By choosing a celebrant-led ceremony, and by choosing me as your celebrant, you’re choosing a ceremony that echoes your unique relationship, personalities, and quirks. Let me tell your story in all its glorious, messy, hilarious detail, and you’ll end up with a wedding ceremony full of fun, laughter and emotional sucker punches that you and your guests will remember forever.
Don’t want me to leave when the ceremony’s over? Want a friendly face to help round up your guests for the group shots, and shepherd them from one part of the venue to another (it’s honestly like herding cats)? Want someone to whip your guests up for your entrance into the dining room, and for the first dance? Want someone to go between you and your venue and other suppliers, to make sure your day runs as smooth as a baby’s bum? Having me stick around as your MC means you can relax and enjoy your day in the knowledge that everything’s covered.

Naming Ceremonies
So you have a babe that you would like to celebrate in a formal way, but churches aren’t your scene? A naming ceremony is the perfect non-religious alternative to a Christening and I can help with that!
Naming ceremonies can happen in any location, at any time, and with no restrictions on what content must and can’t be included, you can make your child’s naming ceremony as personal and special as you want.
They are a fantastic way to mark a new life, or to welcome an adopted child to the family, and to involve your nearest and dearest in the celebrations by including readings, symbolic elements and nominating ‘guideparents’.

Renewal of Vows
Maybe you didn’t get the wedding you wanted when you did it all those many (or not so many) years ago. Maybe you want to mark an anniversary by re-declaring your love to the world. Maybe you just want an excuse for a big knees up!
Whatever the reason, I believe love should always be celebrated, and a renewal of vows is the perfect way to reaffirm your love and commitment to your favourite person. After however many years of marriage under your belts, you’ll have so much more story to tell, and with the chance to have your ceremony absolutely anywhere, I can help you to create a celebration of your love fit for the relationship you have built together.

We cannot thank you enough!!
There are not enough words to describe just how amazing of a celebrant Connie truly is! After our ceremony every single one of our guests was coming up to us to say: “we didn’t know you could could have a wedding like that! It was so beautiful!” or “we wished we could have had her at our wedding!!” From making all of our guests both cry, and laugh, throughout our ceremony, she delivered a truly incredible, personal, and emotional touch to our wedding that made it more special than we could ever have imagined.
It would not be hyperbole to say that hiring Connie as our MC as well as our celebrant was the best decision we could possibly have made! From start to finish she made the whole process feel so much more manageable, and personal. Everything from meeting with her for the first time, to the process of planning our day including all the little details, and the big day itself was an absolute delight and a pleasure thanks to her efforts! Connie was wonderful at listening to us both, helping us work through and bring together all our ideas for our wedding, as well as encouraging us to really embrace the elements of our wedding that made it our own.
One of the absolute best parts about hiring Connie was that it meant we could truly relax and enjoy our wedding day, because we had full confidence in her to stay on top of everything, manage any situation, and keep everything organised and on-track. It meant we did not have to worry about a single thing, and we could appreciate the whole day to its fullest.

We recently had Connie (Wit & Wonder Ceremonies) conduct our wedding ceremony at five four studios in Salford. From start to finish of the whole process of Connie gathering our details/getting to know us was so much fun and the ceremony was a completely tailored to how we liked.
Connie created a ceremony that was funny, sweet and emotional all in one. Connie had our guests all warmed up and whooping before I walked down the aisle and then took us on a trip down memory lane reminiscing on our relationship, she made it such a relaxed and joyous environment. We had so many of our guests coming up to us throughout the day saying how much they loved it and how different it was to anything they had witnessed at a wedding.
We were so thrilled with our day and Connie is so lovely and easy to get on with. Five stars all round!

Connie: what a wonderful person. It is hard to come close to writing a review that is anywhere as wonderful as the ceremony she wrote for us.
She goes beyond being a celebrant and endeavours to understand you both as a couple and as an individual. She then weaves together the most articulate and meaningful re-telling of your story making sure that she pays attention to your highlights and she draws perfectly on the pockets of the narrative that will be so meaningful for your loved ones.
What was more, we asked Connie to MC our entire day and into the evening and thank the lord we did. Seamless. She was on top of everything throughout the day and created such a stress free environment for me and my wife!
It is with such genuine heart that we advise you invite Connie to your day: she will make it that extra special. A legend!
