Moonraker House, nestled in the tree canopy overlooking the iconic Split Apple Rock is a great escape at the gateway of the Abel Tasman National Park available as a homely bed & breakfast for up to four guests.

We have two friendly resident dogs, and a lazy cat and our two grown up sons, Peter and Chris who come and go but can be a great help with our guests bags.

Tasman is known for its azure waters, beautiful native forests and crisp golden and black sand but more importantly it has one of the most iconic New Zealand natural rock forms, Split Apple Rock, all of which is literally on our doorstep and makes for the most incredible celebration back drop at all times of the year. Moonraker House is the only accommodation with direct access as well as view of Split Apple Rock, so even if a plan B option is called for, you wont be disappointed and will still have the stunning views to encapsulate in your memories.

Our purpose designed property offers romance and celebration with a rustic traditional style Kiwi bach, yet elegant comfort and hospitality like no other in the region. Our property is accessible by car and boat and close to two small townships, Kaiteriteri and Marahau with a small shop, eateries and activities at hand. We are 20 minutes from Motueka and 50 minutes from Nelson.

We encourage the celebrations to take place on Split Apple Rock beach, with direct access from Moonraker House its the simplest option. Alternatively you use us as your base and enjoy the added bonus of the diversity of the Nelson and Tasman region to choose an alternative location, such as a beach or island in the Abel Tasman National Park, Adele sand spit is a popular choice. The Lakes, Rivers, cave, snowy mountain, Lord of the Ring film locations, orchards and olive groves, even a skydive wedding is possible from here. We like nothing more than a challenge, so challenge us!

We do all the hard work. After some discussion we will make suggestions and a proposal and you can share the responsibility or completely hand over the reins.

What will Moonraker House provide?

Our bundles are based on a couple, with options to upgrade with a minimum of two nights. However, we encourage no less than three or four nights to give you a truly relaxed holiday feel. If you would like a weddingmoon bundle you can extend that further to enjoy all that our region has to offer. We provide an concierge service and can make bookings on your behalf. The ceremony day can include; hair & makeup, flowers, catering, music, photography or video, even live streaming, the list is long!

Alternatively if your planning a larger event, you can book Moonraker Bed & Breakfast as your base or honeymoon night or guests accommodation.

With the nature of our service and exclusive bundles we can not provide fixed prices but our bundles start from $2000 to include complete wedding planning, two nights at the beautiful Moonraker House, ceremony on Split Apple beach, celebrant, bouquet/s and/or boutonniere/s, a celebration picnic and location photo even a romantic sunrise breakfast on the deck is possible.
Other associated services available and conditions do apply. Simple celebrant service only starts at $550 and can be arranged with our minimum 2 night stay B&B offering to keep it simple. In New Zealand the celebrant can complete the legal requirements but the cost of the license is extra and the couples responsibility.
