We booked the lovely Julie to plan and lead our wedding service- and could not be happier with our decision! For some context- we found ourselves in a bit of a tricky position in that we were trying to balance having a non church wedding (our venue was a barn) with being able to include a religious reading. The aim was to include both families- bride’s side religious, groom’s complete atheists! For us, both church and civil ceremonies were very prescriptive and had little way of being tailored to reflect us as a couple- which is what lead us to look for an independent celebrant. We were immediately drawn to Julie and felt her experience in the field set her apart. We live up in Leeds and were getting married in the Cotswolds so had an initial Skype to get to know each other. Julie was amazing at guiding us through the planning and offering great suggestions. We had the freedom to have the ceremony exactly as we wanted it with lots of advice and support along the way from someone who we felt cared as much about the ceremony as we did. Sometimes wedding planning can become really stressful and all consuming. The one thing we never had to worry about was the ceremony, and I can honestly say that is because we knew Julie was steering the ship and had everything under control even when we didn’t! On the day it was so lovely to see Julie’s now familiar face (after multiple skypes and emails) waiting at the front to lead the ceremony rather than a registrar we didn’t know. The actual ceremony was exactly as we wanted it to be- professional, personal and so much fun! You couldn’t do any better than to book Julie as your celebrant. Julie- you actually make us miss wedding planning- thanks so much again!
