We found Gemma at an Wedding fair back in June (2019) and knew instantly we wanted her as part of our day. (This was before we’d even decided on a venue!) I had mistakenly remembered her as ‘Gemma Joy’ but feel this is an accurate representation of the great energy she brings! Gemma was easy to organise meet ups with, listened to all of our ideas and wishes, opening up even more possibilities and embracing all the options. She put us at ease and it soon felt like we’d known her for years and were talking with a friend. We were given a questionnaire beforehand for us to complete so she could get to know us better as a couple and craft a personalised ceremony that represented us. Gemma spoke of our journey as a couple with a storyteller vibe, engaging our guests with creativity, humour and some well placed audience participation at our request. Gemma puts her all into what she does with much professionalism and made us feel very special both on the lead up and on the day itself. During our 40 minute ceremony, we looked around the room and saw many guests had a tear in their eye and smiles on their faces. Many of them remarked they’d never witnessed a ceremony like it and how much they’d enjoyed being part of it. I think that being the big difference here…guests were not observers but each person was included in what was happening. Gemma has a direct approach and made sure everything was as it should be on our day. I felt I could trust that she would sort it and have everything in hand. As the bride, having someone like that on campus who will advocate your wishes without bias is invaluable! If you are looking for a celebrant who can capture your essence as a couple and create a unique ceremony…Gemma is your person. Highly recommended!
