Knowing what to pack when you go to a ceremony is not easy - for most you learn what you need when you realise that you don't have it! I learned the hard way believe me (I'll not pack a spare pair of shoes again!).
My Must Have Celebrant Toolkit is designed to cover everything you need as a Celebrant - from the apps to use, the tech you need and of course what to take on the day.
I'll be adding to the list throughout the year so do bookmark this page. If you have any suggestions do let me know!
My favourite apps for your Celebrant business
These apps help me run my Celebrant business both efficiently and creatively.
Dubsado is a business management solution that helps me plan and be super organised. I use it for sending contracts, creating questionnaires and time tracking.
WhatsApp is a great way to stay in touch with clients as well as with your Celebrant network. Create groups of people to communicate with in a fast and secure way.
Canva is amazing for creating graphics and videos for your social media, email marketing and website. It's simple to use, had a huge library of photos - I couldn't be without it!
Zoom is my go-to video conferencing app for meetings with new and existing clients when we cannot meet face to face. I also use it to go live on Facebook.
Trello is great when you are managing multiple projects as Celebrants. I love to create different boards for each piece of work to ensure I stay on track.
Dropbox is perfect to store all your images, and documents to save space on your hard drive. You can then access it on the move.
What to take with you to a ceremony
Perfect for being heard at a ceremony allowing for greater flexibility of movement.
You may wish to use a stand for your script that works in multiple settings.
Sometimes you have far to walk to the ceremony so a great portable bag will help.
You may prefer a headset instead of a lapel mic.
You may like to bring your own portable folding table to place any extras on.
It's a good idea to have a white umbrella to shield you from the sun and rain.
PA SOUND SYSTEM
For ceremonies, you may need a portable PA sound system in case the venue doesn't have one.
You may not need a full PA but a quality portable Bluetooth speaker for your ceremony.
Arrive at your ceremonies looking professional with a personalised script folder.
The Celebrant Directory is designed for families and couples looking for the perfect Celebrant for their wedding, funeral or naming ceremony. But it is So. Much. More.
It's a community for Celebrants to learn, get support and grow together. With weekly lives, monthly guest speakers and further opportunities to get bookings via our blog.
In my office I can't work without...
From tech to planners - here are my must-have items in my office
I LOVE my Mac Book - it never lets me down! Plus it's super light to take on the move.
Useful for better lighting on Zoom calls as well as making videos and Reels.
Ensure your Zoom calls and lives sound great with a desktop microphone.
Everyone is different but I love all the Undercover stationery.
You can't go paperless as you will need to print multiple copies of your scripts for each ceremony.
A desktop tripod is useful when going live from your desk. This one has a light too.
Treat yourself to some personalised notebooks or this super glam one.
I love to be able to see a year's plan on the wall to help me plan better.
