Why would you have a divorce ceremony?

You can openly acknowledge the life that you have shared, all that there is to be celebrated and remembered, but accept the failings and the challenges. Offer each other closure and the willingness to move forward. These ceremonies are a great way to share with your family and friends that you are ready to leave this part of your life behind and look into your future.
