Hi, I'm Angie
There is nothing I would love more than to create and hold the perfect ceremony for you. I have sixteen years’ worth of experience and have built up good local knowledge as well as a repertoire of ritual and other creative inspiration. I’m as delighted to hold a humanist ceremony for you outdoors as a traditional candle lit ceremony for you in church, and anything inbetween. You can choose all the aspects that make up your ceremony and with my guidance your ceremony will be everything you want.
What's my ceremony style?
I aspire to be warm and welcoming throughout all our interactions as well as with my delivery of your ceremony on the day. I also aspire to be the presence of joy for you during your ceremony, and put myself in your shoes so I imagine being on the receiving end of the experience I offer you. This means I listen well as we prepare, I’m very organised and able to give attention to detail as well as hold the bigger picture so we think of everything needed in advance, and then on the day I am articulate and as up for fun as I am up for a very profound and emotional experience.

What do I offer?
Weddings
I am an ordained interfaith minister so I can reflect all faiths and no faith, according to your beliefs if they are important to you. As a minister and celebrant I am fully authorised to solemnise marriage in Scotland, which means that I can combine the spiritual and religious, together with the practical, in a way to suit you and your needs. I’m as comfortable leading a ceremony with 250 guests, as I am holding a ceremony for two. As a couple you and your intended are unique, and the experience and ceremony I can offer you will be unique to you.
Getting married in Scotland and eloping to Scotland are easy and I can guide and help you so that preparing is fun and stress free. Whatever your faith or belief you can choose to have a ceremony of marriage, handfasting, commitment or betrothal – or any other kind of relationship ceremony. Indoor or outdoor, short and simple, or creative and elaborate; traditional or alternative, your ceremony reflects you and your love and your beliefs if they are important to you, and we prepare to suit you – face to face, on the phone, using FaceTime, WhatsApp, Skype or Zoom, or using email.

Why choose Angie for your wedding?
I am friendly, flexible and responsible, so you can rest assured I am prioritising our communications as we prepare, as well as doing my utmost to create and write the perfect ceremony for you, then my goal is to show up on time and be well prepared on the day. My goal is for our journey together to be as fun, calm and stress free as I can make it for you. And for your ceremony to be exactly as you wish on the day.

Renewal of Vows
I can create and hold a meaningful vow renewal ceremony for you, taking into account if you’ll be just the two of you or celebrating with family and friends, and I can also help with where you might hold your ceremony.
Your renewal might be quite tender and healing, or it could be full of fun and celebration – I will create and hold a ceremony that is fitting for you and the journey of your marriage. Scotland is probably one of the most popular places in the world to hold your vow renewal as we have so many beautiful and natural outdoor spaces, as well as amazing castles and churches. I’d be delighted to share ideas.

Angie Alexandra made our experience wonderful! If we could give her more than 5 stars, we definitely would.
As Americans, we were trepidatious about doing a handfasting in Scotland. We had essentially no idea even where to begin. However, we were fortunate enough to communicate with Angie Alexandra. She was so very engaging and kindly walked us through all the various details to make our vision for our vow renewal come true. Angie was very responsive and engaging throughout the process. She walked us through various options regarding the venue, the timing, the ceremony itself, and every detail that would be involved. She even assisted in providing recommendations for highland hire wear – which we used and were pleased with (McCall’s). Angie was very upfront with her pricing and reasonable for the quality product she provided. Her knowledge and capabilities allowed us to create the perfect experience on our special day. Angie was even instrumental in arranging transportation for us to the venue site with a dear cab driver, Helen, who was kind enough to serve as our informal videographer for the proceedings (we would highly recommend her as well). And of course, we cannot neglect to mention that Angie’s husband, Will, is a superb event photographer and created many images that we will treasure always. He is like a lost Harry Potter character and made us smile based upon his charm, wit, and overall pleasant demeanor.
In summary, Angie Alexandra is a superb choice if you are looking to get married or simply renew your vows in Scotland. In the vernacular of our cousins across the pond, “she is brilliant.” As noted above, we would give her more than 5 stars but are limited by the restrictions. We HIGHLY recommend her to make your special day truly special.
Our perfect day
Every couple wants their wedding to be the perfect day. Angie was central to our ceremony throughout. Angie combined our wishes and ideas with her thoughts and writings which created a beautiful experience for us. We are so happy to have shared it with Angie, together with Will the most wonderful photographer and Rich the most amazing piper.
Our Scottish Wedding
Angie was a wonderful celebrant in our wedding renewal. The venues she suggested were very thoughtful and she took the time to get to know us so the ceremony became very personal and intimate. The poems she chose were impactful and all the traditions intermingled in the wedding were of great significance to us. She has a very positive and loving personality which immediately put us at ease. I was easily one of the most wonderful experiences in our lives, so thank you for that. We would definitely recommend her to other people who want a similar thoughtful experience.
