Hi, I'm Sally
I’m Sally Chapman an independent Celebrant living in a gorgeous mountainside village in the Almeria region of southern Spain. I’m very much a natural people person which was reflected in my previous employments before moving to sunny Spain. In fact, I would go as far to say that my previous roles have led me here to where I’m now, creating and officiating beautiful bespoke ceremonies. As an accomplished public speaker I knew that becoming a Celebrant was a role that fitted my personality perfectly, so after training with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy, I took a leap of faith and successfully launched my own business. Several successful ceremonies later confirm I made the right decision! I’m a great believer that we all end up where we should be in life and being a Celebrant in Spain is a perfect fit for me and not just because the sun is always shining, but it helps!
What's my ceremony style?
I’m one of those people that from the moment we either meet or speak over the phone or via video call I will put you at ease and you’ll know you’re in safe hands. I’m known for my huge smile, warmth and fun personality. I have a huge heart and so every single ceremony I write receives exactly the same passion and enthusiasm as if you were a friend or family member of mine. Not only is it written with heartfelt love, on the big day it is delivered with passion and soul, so if it’s a wedding/vow renewal or even a funeral/celebration of life ceremony, I will officiate your ceremony as if it were both my first and my last.

I travel all around Southern Spain and have visited some beautiful places along the way. I have so many favourite moments as couples always give me little nuggets of funny moments that have happened since they’ve been together, which I then incorporate into their ceremony script which always brings so many smiles and laughs along the way! One example was from a groom who had seen The Sound of Music over 300 times and even did the tour that goes with it in Austria earning him as we joked, a “Top Fan” badge!
Another time that springs to mind was when a couple who had 6 children of which 2 had learning difficulties were included in the ceremony. I knew the child would be nervous when it came to bringing the rings up to the front to give them to her Mum & Dad, yet with careful encouragement she happily completed her special job.

After completing my bespoke questionnaire which enables me to discover all the interesting details that make you so unique, I get down to the real nitty-gritty to pick out all your little foibles which in turn enables me to create an amazing one off script that totally reflects you.
I make sure all your personal beliefs, background and traditions are incorporated into your ceremony and do not stop until a client tells me they are 100 percent happy.

Weddings
Yay, you’re getting married, congratulations! It’s now the fun really begins, from the moment I send you my unique Mr & Mrs style questionnaire which gives me everything I need to know about you both, I begin to weave together your unique script. From the start I will hold your hand all the way until together we create the most beautiful unique wedding ceremony with every tiny detail added in, up to the moment that I officiate your special day when you and your guests come away telling you how that’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to!
I offer a Simple yet beautiful Ceremony for €450 or a Bespoke one that tells your love story and so much more for €550. (Note 2024 Bespoke Ceremony price €650)
If you want any religious or spiritual elements incorporated into your ceremony, no problem.
I am a very flexible person who is able to wear many hats. You want a classy, stylish yet subtly simple but more formal style of ceremony delivered with warm professionalism that puts everyone at ease, no problem.
Or maybe you want a ceremony where anything goes that can include a bucket load of humour (appropriately approved by you of course) then great, I love making people laugh and cry at the same time! That’s the beauty of having me do your ceremony – I will give you exactly what you want and before the big day I make sure you are 100% really happy.

Renewal of Vows
What can be more romantic than saying I do all over again! So you may not have had the wedding day you originally dreamed of, or it might have been one of those where your wedding ceremony was exactly the same as everyone else’s.
Vow renewal ceremonies are so very special because all those wonderful memories from before your special day to where you are now are weaved into a beautiful bespoke script especially for you. Elements of loved ones lost can be incorporated into the ceremony along with participation from any children or grandchildren or even great-grandchildren. There are no rules as to what can be included on the day, as long as it works for you.
The vow renewal ceremonies that I offer are how you would’ve wished your wedding to have been if you could go back in time! Firstly there are no time restrictions, you can have the ceremony wherever you want and I get to help bring back all those wonderful memories of how you first met, when you knew you were in love, who proposed etc and a ton of other questions so that I can create the wedding ceremony you always dreamed of that will be so much more meaningful second time round. I can even help you write some beautiful heartfelt vows should you wish. Whatever the reason, it’s an opportunity to shine a light on your love for each other and really get to say what you want to your loved one. Let me create a beautiful bespoke script with stories on how you first met, to all the years you’ve been together including the highs and the lows.

Why choose Sally for your renewal of vows?
Well, I have to be honest, the fact that you want to renew your vows quite often comes at a time (but not always) when you’ve lived a number of years together, maybe had children, and now possibly grandchildren and sadly perhaps lost a parent or two and realise just how quickly life passes us by. I can relate to all of the above and have lived a real life with lots of ups and downs so you will find that I’m down to earth and very real. Things happen in life that put what’s important into perspective and saying I love you all over again in front of witnesses, is very intimate and quite honestly can even bring on a few tears! Sadly we only get one life so don’t put off the opportunity if this is something you think you’d like to do. I guarantee I will put a big smile on your face and make it an occasion you will never forget!
Funerals
Well firstly let me say that this is part of my job that I both love and dislike. Let me explain…..I love giving a person the best send off they could wish for but am sad because it means that another wonderful life has come to an end. Unlike the UK where you often have a period of between 2-4 weeks before the funeral here in Spain it is very quick, often between 24-48 hours and up to 5 days if agreed and paid for via a funeral plan. This often leaves the bereaved no option but to go with what’s offered and although this may be enough for you, some people want their loved one’s ceremony to be so much more personalised with their life given the justice it deserved and this is where I come in.
€350 for a Simple yet beautiful Funeral Ceremony or €550 for a Bespoke Life Story Celebration of Life Ceremony.
Did you know also that you can ask your funeral plan provider or Insurance company to retain the fee dedicated to a humanist/celebrant or a minister and this can then go towards a future date, giving you time and space to arrange any travel arrangements for family to come over? This then also allows me to gently pull out all the wonderful memories about your loved one from both you and other family members and friends. And don’t worry, although it will be a sad occasion, I will ensure it is a joyous celebration of the life lost that can include humour and laughter and deliver a wonderful ceremony that you and your loved one would be proud of. I can include religious readings if this is required.

Why choose Sally for your funeral?
I started on this path because sadly I had been to too many funerals that had been so utterly disappointing, where even the person officiating the ceremony made it seem like just another day at the office. After my Gran’s funeral at the local crematorium I can honestly say that I sat there and not only cringed at how bad the minister was whilst thinking ‘is this all my Gran’s life accounts for’ whilst also crying because my Gran had been so much more than the brief 5 minute history he had given her. From that moment, when my Granddad died, which was before I became a celebrant I gave him the eulogy that he utterly deserved as I did when sadly my Mum passed a few years later. When I later became a celebrant it made me think that I have all the skills to be able to officiate a funeral with heartfelt warmth/compassion & total professionalism.

Wedding Ceremony Filled With Love
Sally was absolutely amazing from start to finish during our wedding. She took time to get to know us, and our story and created the most beautiful script for our wedding ceremony. Even when things didn’t go to plan on the day (nothing to do with Sally) she put us at ease, and her words made us remember what the whole day was about.. us & our love!
I cannot recommend Sally highly enough, she is an absolute professional at what she does, but has such a friendly & warm personality that you’ll feel like you’ve known her for years.

Wedding Ceremony
From the moment we contacted Sally to be a celebrant for our wedding we knew we made the right decision. Sally made our ceremony so special, so personal, funny and emotional it was everything we imagined and more. Nothing was a problem with Sally, she is so fun yet so professional. Her calming and caring nature just set the tone for our ceremony and we both felt super relaxed through out. All our family & friends had nothing but high praise for the ceremony itself and Sally. A Magical Day
Sally was unbelievable from start to finish. She was so caring on our first phone call and really got to know my husband and I so that she could build a really special and unique ceremony that we will cherish forever. She was always on hand to support and offer suggestions and guidance through out the whole process. She is such a warm, fun, open and positive character who was a huge part of our wedding.
