Life is worth celebrating, and my passion is helping families to mark special occasions in their lives in exactly the way they wish.
Whatever the event, the opportunities are limitless for how we choose to observe these key moments.
Possibly you have always longed to marry your partner somewhere outdoors?
Or perhaps you wish to acknowledge the arrival of a new member of the family in your own back garden?
Maybe you’ve always wanted to take renew your wedding vows on your favourite local beach?
Or maybe you wish to celebrate the loss of a loved one with a personalised service at the crematorium, woodland burial site, or at another location that is special to you and your family?
Working with a celebrant makes all these things possible. And it is a real privilege for me, to be able to help make peoples’ dreams come true.
As an Independent Celebrant, I can help with all aspects of the ceremony or service, including finding different ways to involve friends & family, and/or incorporating any symbolic rituals you may wish to include, such as hand-fasting, candle or sand ceremonies.
I work very closely with clients to create something truly personal, and to ensure both the planning, and the event itself, are as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Plus, with a background in the arts and event management, I can also advise on the choreography and staging of the ceremony.
I love new ideas, and always enjoy a challenge, so if you have something a little more unusual that you need help planning for, do get in touch.
I'm available through London & the South, including East & West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Berkshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire, Somerset and beyond...
If you are choosing your pet dog to be the ring bearer, or having 9 tiny little flower girls in tow, or getting married in the ruins of a castle, or wish to bury your loved one in a spot overlooking the sea on a rainy windswept day, then I'm your woman! I love to be able to help people achieve their ambitions to do things a little differently. And that's why I start the beginning of each planning stage with a 'blank canvas'.
This job brings me great pleasure because it is an opportunity to be creative, and challenge expectations.
Being a fan of the great outdoors I enjoy getting back to nature, and am especially fond of any farm, field, woodland or garden ceremonies.
Wherever the venue, and whatever the occasion, my focus is always on creating something truly authentic to both the people and the places, that each ceremony serves to celebrate.
To quote Oprah Winfrey: "The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." Celebrating gives us a time to reflect, to reconnect, and to make new memories, and there are no rules on how we do that, which is what I probably love most!
My friends and family all tell me I'm perfect for this job. Well, I'm not sure I'm perfect at anything, but becoming a celebrant has been the best decision I've made, and I am so happy and grateful to be doing what I do.
It combines most of my great passions - meeting new people, visiting new places, organising events, creative writing and cats - okay well, not so much the cats (but if anyone would like to involve their cat in one of their ceremonies I'd be delighted!)
I'm calm and relaxed, but also very organised, and I like to take the time to really get to know all my clients. (And always over coffee and cake, whenever geography permits!)
This job is a real privilege and I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet wonderful people, and share in their deepest joy with them, and of course sometimes their deepest grief, as well.
I pride myself on being warm, empathetic, reliable, and a good listener and communicator. I also love to find fresh approaches to things, and with a long history of working as a project manager and producer within the creative and cultural industries, I am used to problem solving and thinking on my feet.
One thing I'm not very good at though, is telling you why you should choose me...however, you can see some of the Kind Words people have said about me by visiting the relevant page on my website, and hopefully they might persuade you! www.hannahosmondcelebrant.co.uk
