Hi, I'm Stéphanie
Hello! I’m a creative, smiley, offbeat, multilingual celebrant in Paris. I travel all over France to celebrate love and romance and life itself.
I design unusual, lyrically-written, non-traditional ceremonies, with imagination and flair and delight. I’m Scottish by birth and French by adoption, I trained to be a celebrant here in France, working for a celebrant agency to start with, learning the ropes and gaining invaluable experience before setting up independently.
My couples have inspired me to create ceremonies for them containing astronomy, the Whitney Museum in New York, the poetry of Pablo Neruda, the lyrics of Joanna Newsom, liquid crystals and haiku…
I don’t care what sex/non-binary/genre, colour, ability, orientation in any sense, age or nationality my couples (or occasionally, triples+ 😊) are. Just that they’re hung up on romancing ❤️

What's my ceremony style?
I’m multilingual, delivering ceremonies in English, French, German, Spanish and others.
I love words. I love using them to illuminate and evoke different aspects of my couple’s story.
At all times, I make sure that the ceremony is linguistically dynamic, with a great rhythm. I let the particular language itself inform the ceremony, often using different metaphors in each language to convey the same aspect.
I also adapt according to the native language of particularly beloved guests, saying lovely things in their language that I know they especially will appreciate.
If I don’t speak a language spoken by some of the guests, I spend time in the run-up to the ceremony getting to know the basics. So far, I’ve welcomed guests in Romanian, Gujarati, Japanese …. I’ve had guests clapping with joy to hear me doing this – and it always gets the ceremony off to a great start 😊

My Bespoke ceremony: an hour of laughter and longing, a poetic moment of storytelling and intuition, creative ritual, guest speeches, readings, songs …
Often six months+ of prep; a number of very detailed questionnaires; up to four meetings so I can really get to know you and imagine into reality the right ceremony for you.
When your ceremony is your priority and you’re up for the preparation which is not only necessary for the ceremony but a great way to prepare for your marriage itself. Also important :)
My Compact ceremony: an intimate 20-30 minutes centred around your story and your vows.
May include any / all of the following: procession, guest welcome, love story, ring-warming / hand-fasting, rings and two types of vows. A guest reading or a supplementary ritual. And lots of love

Why choose Stéphanie for your wedding?
Because I’ll use all my considerable energy and imagination to make sure you have a glorious ceremony that you’ll always remember with delight. I’ll create a space that holds everyone present within it. As a celebrant, my ceremonies are totally personalised and reflective of you, your world view, and what’s important to you. But I can’t do it alone. You’ll need to dig deep, during meetings with me and answering the questionnaires I give you, to figure out what, precisely, commitment means to you, and what you mean to each other. Once we know that, I can create your one-of-a-kind ceremony … because every love story is – as unlikely as it may seem, unique. The preparation we do isn’t just for the ceremony. I think it’s really good for the marriage that follows. It sets you off on your new journey together. Like a compass in your pocket or a telescope to a star.
